I think it really depends on how you choose your career path. If you work for a national, of course, they are going to offer VR to the facilities they market their services to because it will seem so easy for the doctor. The national can also recruit MTs to take less pay to do basically what you do when you transcribe. Even doing VR you must have the knowledge (even more so) to correct the spoken/recorded errors.
I commend MTs for doing voice recognition, but please don't assume that physicians are not using traditional methods of transcription. In my opinion, larger practices want to mainstream dictation such as hospitals and radiology/diagnostic facilities, but not all physicians are large enough to have that need. Just something to keep in mind.
