You're not just "working on their platform," they're letting you into their network to do your work. You're IN their computer system. They're blocking your internet and email access to prevent breaches of their firewall and the deliberate or inadvertent transfer of patient information.

They have an obligation to protect the integrity of their network. It is their responsibility to make CERTAIN that their patients' privacy and personally identifiable health information is protected. They can't risk a breach; the penalties are too great.

You can expect to see more of this, as well as an increasing return to in-house transcription, due to the continual security and privacy breaches that are occurring with outsourcing.

This is not a violation of any of your rights. Your right is to accept or refuse the job. If you don't like it, don't work on that account.
