You said in an earlier post that wireless internet through your cell phone carrier is a better solution than fixed wireless. I have a cell phone, but often have to walk around the house to get one bar for a signal. Does this not factor in? Where my desk is now, forget it.

i think the whole thread is in jest at the fools who run MQ, past and present.
How many MQ CEOs does it take to give MTs a raise after 5-6 years or to award a prize of a trip to Hawaii offered months ago ? What a joke and the jokes on us - for now.

The OP may not have specified hours, etc, but every MT should know better than to state their line count without giving any other qualifying factors. It's misleading pure and simple to say "I do 3000 lines a day" and leave it at that. The natural assumption is you're talking about a normal work day consisting of 8 hours. The second natural assumption is that you are talking about the standard line definition of 65 characters per line.
The OP is probably fairly new to transcription and is probably trying to get an idea of where she should be production wise and wondering what kind of money she expect to make. You simply tell her you 3000 lines in a day and don't tell her anything else is misleading her into believing that she can achieve this too and leave her feeling frustrated when she can't.
I wanted the OP to know that gross lines anda 12 hour day are not the norm in this field and you should not have stated your line count as if it were!

Weird, isn't it? I had two Rose of Sharon bushes, one I bought for my mother
and planted it in her yard. The other I bought for myself and planted it in my yard. My mother passed away in 1993 and my bush died a month later. My father passed away in 1996 and that bush in their yard died a month later. Both passed on in August, 3 years and 5 days from one another. Makes you wonder.

limits in your life, don't you? I would hope so. Those are the lines I have drawn. I have had to change accounts before and change employers before. I may have to again, who knows?
It doesn't cost me anything whether you take that as blaming MTs or not.
Not anywhere in that post did I blame MTs. I took responsibility for what I wanted to do and I am ALLOWED to make those decisions for myself. Perhaps you should do the same for you.

Not Mexican - rap music as loud as it can be played coming from somewhere behind my house on almost a nightly basis around 2 a.m. The thing that makes me the most annoyed is that it is literally the same song OVER and OVER and OVER for two hours or more! doing this. Why not check as you are doing and spell check at end. It seems like you are shooting yourself in the foot by rereading each report. I never do and just got my quarterly report yesterday and had a 99.9% accuracy.

Not only did he not use school buses, and all public transportation to get his people out of the city, they did not even transport jail prisoners out of the city, they waited until the flood then opened the jails and let the prisoners out on the street. Nagin may run his mouth in public, but is no hero. He will blame anyone he can, other than himself, who is at the root of the problem. Even had the audacity to say, "because of their color". Get real. Who would have thought so may thousands of people would stay there and not evacuate? It was his job to see that people got out, and he FAILED miserably.

I surely lost out on that, worked from home for a hospital
for 2+ years and required to come in house for meetings and never, never paid for my gas nor my time down and just asked to make it up. After that we got outsourced to a company and guess what again? Meetings at their place and again no pay!! I bet others who see this probably have had the same thing happen to them. Your place exceptional.

Please, guys, surely you've seen these people's work SM
and are appalled at the very low quality. When training, I worked alongside one of them. The quality was atrocious, but she put out vast quantities of it, moving many reports a day for the hospitals and making lots of money for herself and her employer, so her job was actually very secure in spite of the many complaints that came in from the unfortunate clinicians who received her work.
But her speed cannot even begin to compare with that of a computer, or couldn't. I imagine she's safely retired now and doesn't have to face the change-or-get-out that will be required of other content slobs.
I'm not surprised that the media is trying to "spin" him into a hero
but he's unqualified and unethical. The tourists that were there were able to pay him to let them out of there first, plain and simple. Once again, consider the source.

are hero's. One who puts themselves in harms way to protect another is a hero.
