Need information about laptop computer for MT sm

Exactly what do I need to look for in a laptop. I have an ill family member which requires me to be more mobile. Ram? Hard drive? How many ports? Do you like any particular brand - I lean towards Dell, but am certainly not a diehard Dell fan.
Any tips you might have would be appreciated.

LAPTOP COMPUTER
I am thinking seriously of switching to a laptop computer and getting the DocQScribe platform put on it. I lost a lot of money from Hurricane Katrina and am still losing money as I still cannot type as I have cable high speed and it is not up and running. Will most likely switch to Bell South high speed and go from there but was just wondering if anyone had a problem with the program being loaded on a laptop or anyother national for that matter. I could have worked for 3 weeks while in a hotel if I would have had a laptop. Do not want to get caught in that position again. If you are working from a laptop, is there anything else that I would need to hook up in a hotel room and which kind of laptop do you recommended? Appreciate any and all answers that I receive.

In answer to your question, I have a USB aircard through Sprint, which I use here at home since I am in the "boonies" and only a mile and a half from a cell tower however, so my connection speed is great. When I "travel of the weekend" it is usually up to my significant others, and he has DSL available there so I use either or,

using desktop computer mobile as a laptop
Anyone have an idea about using a desktop computer as a laptop? I am wanting to take a roadtrip and I had a laptop that has a cracked monitor screen that I used a Belkin wireless internet PCI card in the side of it with WiFi internet connection. Is there a way to use my physical harddrive and establish the same wireless internet connection with WiFi? I do not have the same port that the laptop has on my harddrive that the Belkin wireless card fit into, but is there another card that plugs into the desktop harddrive that will have the same effect? Thank you all.

Does it drive you crazy with the small keyboard and small screen? Maybe it's something you get used to and compensate for when working. Has anyone tried accessing your own home computer from a laptop remotely with PC Anywhere or similar
I'm wondering if this is possible instead of having to install everything on my laptop to work remotely. It would be nice if I could hook up to my home PC with my laptop and am wondering if there is a program that would allow me to do so or do I have to re-install everything on my laptop to work remotely.

thing. I tried one of those adapter that goes from the 9-pin to the USB but when I plugged in the USB my foot pedal did not work right. I know supposedly there is a help section on the escription website that says the adapter may work and how to make them compatible etc but it never worked for me. i mentioned something to my supervisor a couple of weeks ago that I "heard" that MQ was offering extra on the line rates to new hires, which upset me, and of course, her response was you can't trust what you hear or see and I know that, but it seems like what i'm seeing on this website seems to be more reliable in some respects than what i get from MQ and like you said, that's really sad. I'm not signed up for IPay so i can't check to see if there's anything there -- guess i could check my bank to see if there's more there.

Don't know where you got your information-
Although a CMA is definitely not a PA, I do not know anywhere you get get what you need in 4-6 weeks. I took the CMA exam after years working in a physician's office, but the programs that I know about in this area are 1-2 years.

My husband came home from work hearing about something called EDTA (Ethylene~Diamine~Tetra-acetic~Acid). It is suppose to break down the minerals and heavy metals out of your body and make your risk of heart disease a lot lower. Does anyone have an information on this. He would like to take it if it true because of heart disease in his family, although I am not certain he should, as I always worry about the things they don't tell you about the stuff your taking.

you do not continue to believe that air conditioning will kill mold . . . it will not, and nowhere in the document you linked to does it even suggest that. It does provide information about air conditioning lowering the relative humidity of a home, and also that it aids in drying out wet areas (because it lowers the relative humidity).
You are not only misinformed, but also are misinforming others by posting segments of the document that are not connected in any other way than being a part of the same document.

of a basement need to be disinfected, a garden sprayer

This program can be set to automatically download files from FTP sites or folders on the computer's hard drive; it's just that you have to do it manually, whereas some of the "more automated programs" came with these things already set up. I use ES for all transcription playback and haven't needed the pricer automation.
As with most opinions, they are subjective, but happy for the discourse.
Just for your information....
There was no lack of willingness to fill anybody in about anything. I was going to tell her everything from top to bottom about the account, what I was looking for and find out what she was looking for so as to make a perfect fit. She was not "signing her life away" either. I am only looking for 2-3 hours per day and the time you complete the work is totally up to you. As far as being miserable to work for, I haven't had anyone work for me before because I have been the only person in my business, doing hospital account along with IC positions. I don't have to offer more cpl to get anyone to work for me. In fact, I could just keep all of it for myself, but because I try to keep my clients happy I am needing to get another person on-board so as to keep TAT within reason. As far as I'm concerned this discussion can be locked. I can't believe the hateful and bitchy remarks made to a totally innocent inquiry. As I haven't had to go through the hiring process before, I was wondering if this was the norm, that you get people like this when you interview. After all of this, I think I will just continue to do all the work myself. There will be less headaches for all involved and more money for me in the long-run. So all of you who had a problem with a simple inquiry, go back to your little holes and be happy. I've got work to do!

I graduated from a MT course in 06. It was a nine month course and I found it very helpful. I would think with your knowledge you would only need a Med.Term class for refreshers. (Which you probably do not need,but almost everyone wants). I also feel I should mention, which is something that I wish someone would have told me starting off,
MOST PLACES REQUIRE 2 YEARS BEFORE THEY ALLOW YOU TO WORK FROM HOME.
The college I would recommend is Indian Hills Community College, in Ottumwa Iowa. They offer all classes for this program online. They have a great set up and for all the interviews I have been on most of the employers comment on how great the classes were and sometimes they even went above and beyond what was required.
