Amen on babies having babies

I know that several teens seem to be having babies anymore, in a time when there is sooooooooooo much offered them in the way of education and birth control.  At our local highschool, they even have an elective course of life studies//these girls take care of a life like baby that yes, cries, wets, wines at all times.  They even have to take it home for the duration of the course, the same as if it were their child, 24/7.

I think that some of the mentality is that be getting pregnant, they can "escape home life" by illogically thinking the boy will take care of them and the baby and we all know how many times that really happens

not sure if the same, but I was taking olive leaf extract (a good brand) and felt great...

I wonder if that would be of the same benefit...just off for a few months because of money reasons!  any health food store carries it, but, of course, you want a good one.

also, evening oil of primrose is great, still taking that because there was a sale on it...love it.

Seafood pasta and olive oil garlic sauce, red leaf salad, homemade bread with sun dried tomato
along with a big glass of white wine.  MMMMMM
okay, now I'm crying (sm)
Thank you so much for sharing that. That is beautiful. I have already posted about missing my children, and long hard weeks away, and wanting to be home. That poem is how I feel some days...

Lynn
Me, too! Now I can't see cause I'm crying! Too funny!
Okay, guys, we all have to go! Michelle and MomMT, its been a very nice pleasure meeting you both!!  Really, I had a great time, which does not happen for me often on here!!  Thank you, both, and have a GREAT night!!  Or a great day tomorrow! I'll cover your backs while you're sleeping...
Then for CRYING OUT LOUD.....
Let HIM worry about this.  How and why do you think it's YOUR problem!!   They're paying you to transcribe, not to breast feed/babysit them.  Learn to pull that monkey off your back and put it on the back where it belongs, would you??????????????????  I swear, this is the last air head post I'm ever going to read or respond to on this ridiculous board.
Oh, for crying out loud, let it go. nm
........
Talk about crying wolf

"Keep putting out those fires of MQ discontent, or at least until the big guns with the lawsuits put out MQ for good"

I have to laugh when I hear this, over and over again.  How MQ is going down.  When?  Come on people.  They are still hiring people, they still have accounts. They aren't going anywhere.  So some MTs have a class action.  Anyone can sue these days.  Do they deserve it, sure.  But I have been hearing about all this for years now and frankly, I am so tired of this old news.

If everyone quits, the will be the ones crying the blues. NM

Gotta laugh to keep from crying!

For crying out loud, it's a job. Don't take it personal.

Lost my dad in October...still crying every day...could use some help (sm)

I just feel like I don't know what to do anymore.  I'm 43 and lost my dad (78) back in October.  I miss him so much.  I still have times every single day when it hits me.  A little memory will come back, and I'll just have the punch in the stomach feeling. I'll type something in a report that will remind me of those final weeks and just feel sick.  Just now, I was just going along, doing my work, and out of the blue I remembered how he always had to take his pills with yogurt or applesauce, and I could just picture him, and I started crying again.  We moved out of my home state 7 years ago, but before that I worked with my dad, just the two of us, for 13 years in his printing business.  He would call me nearly every day, still, whenever he had a problem or needed help with a computer issue or something.  Sometimes I'd get irritated because after not working on some of the stuff for years, I couldn't really remember some of these things.  Now, I'd give anything for one of those phone calls.

Anyway, I normally wouldn't post this kind of thing, and I know there is an Emotions/Depression board, but there is more activity here and I'm feeling like I need some advice from those that have been there.  I don't really talk to my husband about it too much.  I usually have these times during the day or late at night when I'm alone.  I just try to keep it pretty much to myself.  Our neighbor lost his wife back in July and he is over here pretty often.  He still is having a rough time, and my husband has made comments about how it's probably harder when it's your spouse.  In a way, it made me feel like maybe I'm letting this go on too long?  I have my dad's pictures by me and I wonder if maybe I shouldn't because they too make me cry.  I guess I just don't know.  I just know that every day I just miss him so much and have to stop and cry and I don't know if I need to go see somebody, or this is going to get better and pass, or what.

I laughed so hard I was almost crying! nm

It can be done both with babies and kids...
I would agree that it is a lot easier to do when you have a baby because you can work around the baby's schedule, at least I was lucky to have a very flexible employer at the time I had my three little ones.  As they get older, it is more difficult because you will be running around with them to do their activities/school stuff, and they want to spend one on one time with you, etc... but I also agree that if you have something to keep them busy like the leap pad or computer, or play things you can do it.  I've managed to do this at home for 8 years with three kids starting when my 10 year old was 2 so it is possible to get it done. You need to be very organized and disciplined to get the work done but it definitely can be done with babies and kids around. Good luck!!
except birth babies.....do you all ever...sm
listen to yourselves?  Unreal.
I have 5 children, two of which have been babies...
It is not always easy, but you do what you want to do. You will make it work if you try and find out what works best for you. Don't put your baby in daycare just to make it easier on yourself. You can work around the baby!

I've been crying all morning and can't stop (sm)
what's the matter with these lousy companies.  They have poor work and want us to produce a quality document....this job is really sucking anymore!
Oh yes, please. go get your own accounts. This is a newbie for crying out loud

I've run into a lot of people in this field who say, Just go get your own accounts, yet very few do. why?

And: Today you are laughing, tomorrow you wil be crying, believe me...nm

Animals have more rights than babies do!

I had 2 babies in less than a year and kept them at home with....
no outside help.  BUT.... Do not think for a minute that you can sit down and put in an 8 hour day with an infant in the house.  You will have to dramatically alter your working style if that's what you are used to.  I made sure I worked for a company where I made my own hours, which basically amounted to "catch as catch can", but you know what?  I still managed to make 25,000 a year working VERY part-time.  I typed a few reports, got up, fed the kids, typed a few more while they played, got up and played with them, ran errands, put them down for a nap, typed while they slept.... blah blah blah..  My work revolved around the kids and their needs, but it worked.  It has to be that way with a baby (in my case 2 of them).  I don't believe in daycare for infants and small children.  Had we not been able to afford to live of what I could make with them at home, we probably would not have had them.  I feel that strong about it for my family (not judging others mind you).  They're 11 and 12 now and very secure loving connected kids.  I hope my early sacrifices had something to do with it.
Bless your heart, hon. Been there with 2 babies.
I put gel-filled teething toys in the fridge to make them cold; did the Tylenol thing; did the Orajel thing as well.

Honestly, there's not much else you can do. Sometimes if they were a little fussy, I would recline them in my arm and dip my finger in a very cold glass of iced water to cool it and then gently massage their little gums with my cold finger. They would let me. I think the cold numbed and the massage just soothed.

This is one of those stages that it is hard to get through for both baby and parents! I feel for you. I've been up many nights and suffered long days hurting for my little ones.

If it helps, they won't remember the pain. Only you will! lol

no misunderstanding at all. you want things your way and you run crying to "mom" or authority
I don't really mind your posts, but what you are doing now makes me wonder about your sanity. It's like my kids when they don't get their way. They come crying to me and want me to intervene and they try to cause trouble for the person who won't give in. That's what you are doing. You lost me on this battle Dano.
17 years, my husband's got yours beat, he's STILL crying over the Notebook!

I think I see her outside my window!! ;-) nm
.
The first year with just 1 would be a breeze since babies sleep a lot....after that
but it's doalbe on a part-time basis, maybe FT if you are quick and able to do your job in 6 hours. I started doing MT 3 years ago when my kids were 3 and 4....very hard but I did it, worked while they napped, and at night basically. It can be done but you don't sleep much! Good luck.
People now see their babies as a fashion accessory
Idiots
Me thinks so too. Snowman poop is for babies. :)

When men start birthing babies and breastfeeding
then we can have a conversation about who is better.
Yes, you can! Babies sleep over 16 hours a day on average!
It can be done and has been done - by me!
If they are babies, lots of times the birds and
rodent population make short work of them in a few weeks. Happens all the time where I live. The babies don't have a high success rate! Good luck! Yuck is right!
I'm in favor of showers for all pregnancies/babies
Diapers and supplies are always needed regardless of which pregnancy it is. Also, babies are so wonderful; I love celebrating them (and their moms) with baby showers!
I went back to work when babies were 9 days old
And yes, you can transcribe with TWO babies on your lap. It's a royal pain getting spit-up out of the keyboard though!

And before anybody starts a flame war on me, the boys are 10 years old now and now I get to work while they're asleep.... ;)
My goodness, there are MQ offices crying for help. Gets transferred out of Amherst to Ohio or one of
the other offices. I will do that if they run me out of work at Amherst. I dont plan to stick around long if that happens.
Glad to see you keeping your spirits up. Gotta laugh to keep from crying, eh?

Boy, you brought back memories. I remember crying too and thinking I'd never get it that first y

anything beats crying children .... particularly from home late at night ...

oy!  Those poor kids, not asleep in bed yet, and exhausted mom or dad are tryyyying to catch up with dictation ... imho -- the worst ... though I admit I personally have never had from-the-car-on-the-freeway dictation which I gather beats the band!

Wailing children are so heart wrenching.

alt printscreen for the window you are in..
just regular printscreen for the whole desktop. THEN. Open Paintbox (or Paint, whatever its called) and do Edit/Paste - then save - best to save as a .jpg, then it won't take up as much space as a bitmap (.bmp) - I save all mine in the "my pictures folder) or you can make one special.
Chickadees at my window...
Strangest thing just happened.  A chickadee flew to the window chirping away.  He just kept going away and flying back to the window again chirping loudly.  I finally went out to add more seeds to the feeder.  He then stopped trying to get into the window.  I've never seen anything like it.  I guess I have been trained by a chickadee. lol:)
Why does my Winscribe window

disappear between every radiology job (and that means at least one hundred times a day)?   It falls into the abyss known as the margin.  I have to minimize all other windows for it to peek from the corner where I can grab onto it and drag it back into view...arrrrgh

Long difficult day I am having...

I have a chair next to the window
so the furries can jump up and look out when they wish.

nm
No, I didn't mean the suggestion window -sm
I meant I deliberately, because I caught myself, for instance, typing CD for common duct because I forgot that I already had used CD for cystic duct and flying along I thought CD was for common duct. Of course, there's C/D ratio too and sometimes you need to type just CD, so I have all of them under CD and I have to pick from a list which one I want in there so I don't screw it up.

You can add messages and remarks. Like if you can't keep straight Celebrex and Cerebyx, you can make little reminders which is which so you don't put the wrong one in.
My cat loves to sit on the window sill too...
I make sure and keep the blinds up some during the day so she can do so. I think she likes sunbathing. My other cat could care less. He's getting older though. He is definitely past the age of wanting to "hunt" anymore. The youngest still trys to get out sometimes, but is generally pretty happy sitting at the window (this was a wild cat rescued out of the woods too BTW). The older one we let in the backyard with us sometimes. He just sits there and walks around some, but that's it. None are allowed outside by themselves though, especially since we just moved and they could run off and get lost easliy.

I've had inside and outside cats my whole life. It is a personal decision and just depends on the circumstances I think.

You might also try turning off the suggestion window SM
or whatever it is you have for a while. I use Shorthand, but it's pretty much the same thing. That way you could give yourself a list of often-used abbreviations to memorize and get very comfortable with and/or a rule that tells you what a lot of your abbreviations are going to be. As you get comfortable with those few, you'll end up loving them and wanting MORE, MORE, MORE. With that attitude, you can turn the window back on or give yourself yet another list and another rule or two to get used to.

Just think, if you only used abbreciations for the words "the patient" (tp or ?), "hydrochlorothiazide" (hycx or ?), and "blood pressure" (bp or ?) you'd never type those three out again and would be saving that much time with each of them. Start small and unspook yourself.
It's Alt= to make it show in the window. sm
Much easier that way. Don't know anything about Editscript.
Close that window in the task bar....not
by clicking the "x" in the message box.  I was told that when I had my computer cleaned of the AVG thing months ago.  Not all of them, but some of them, have the "x" linked to where it's the same as clicking "yes" to download. Sneaker characters, they are!
