My take on this whole situation is that you did everything to show good work ethics. If it were my company, I certainly would respond to you and be grateful that you took the time to let me know the situation up front instead of wasting time testing and prescreening for nothing. I applaud your work ethic. That recruiter will come around I am sure. He may just be swamped at this point.
