My shift+tab only moves me around within my current document

Alt+tab will move me between different applications.
I've been asked by my company not to use IE7 yet. I generally don't do the upgrades for several months so that all the kinks get worked out.

You hit the nail on the head. Only, I don't think he makes everyone around him miserable. He is definitely a charmer and would have another person in here in a heartbeat. However, as the saying goes, "you hurt those closest to you the most." I have told him he should stay single next time around, but you never know, he may meet his match. ha!

off shoring means the company actually moves there. - of course I mean outsourcing to foreign lands.
they may up their ante but they will always undercut us in price, because they can. No Work Comp, no EOE, no OSHA, no health insurance. If they charged the same as us, what would be the point?

Is your document (sm)
going "full screen" when you do this? If so, use Alt-V to pull the View menu and change the view back to normal. I'm guessing you are hitting Alt-V instead of Ctrl-V for pasting. If you are in full screen mode, there should be a little box floating that says "close full screen." Clicking that will change it back too.
Do you want a new document to...
to show the template or the new blank page within the current document to show the template? In other words, is every report created in a document of its own or are all the reports created in one document containing several reports? Either way, I would think a macro would be very useful. You could use a macro to insert the template on the blank page of new document or, if several reports are joined together to form a document, you could make a macro that would create section break at the end of the current report and insert the template on a new page.

Save QA e-mails in an e-mail folder. Then when you get conflicting messages, simply forward the conflict to the QA and very respectfully say that this feedback seems to be conflicting, so there must be something you don't understand.
If for some reason they do this over the phone, I'd ask if you could get that in writing so you'll be able to keep the rules straight.
Don't get mad, just document
The corrections go into an on-line type folder. I have e-mailed the person in charge stating that feedback seems to be conflicting. The response? There wasn't any. One Editor correcting the work will say "good report" while the next will do just the opposite even though you set up/type basically the same way. Some days I get so upset I could literally cry. I love the work but how can one please when the editors are not on the same page? Really broken at heart over the whole thing. :-(

When I entered the cm2 as a formatted auto correct, it did make everything suprascript; however, go to another line and type the cm2 there. It should work correctly. Just don't know why it won't on the original. Let us know if you're successful.
Maybe it has to do with how you have your document set up?

Don't eliminate the periods, don't use dangerous abbreviations, and don't use illegal abbreviations such as q.a.m. because they are Latin and English mixed.

Yes put current job. If it is your first
job you will need to show the experience to get another job. You don't have the give another company any particulars about why you are looking for another position/more work. Most just want to know when can you start and the hours you can work.

How do you move from one document
to another in the WordPerfect program without stopping to reach for the mouse. I'm guessing there is a certain key(s) such as F1 or something like that that does it but I haven't been able to find it. Thanks!

I am using a different computer in my house because my main one crashed. I had new templates sent to me, but when I open them to use them they have all of these arrows and paragraph symbols everywhere! Thanks for any help

Here is what I do . . . sort of the same thing. I sometimes work on temp jobs and if I think I know how the client wants something, but I am not 100% sure I highlight the area. The MTSO will then return my work -- if she makes a change she will highlight so I can find it easily and if what I did was okay she simply will remove the highlighted area and the report is good to go on to the doctor. It is very simple to highlight an area and just as easy to remove it. It won't exactly show what your MT did wrong, but the MT will know that you changed something that is hightlighted and see the correct way of typing. If she has her original she can match your highlighted area with her original to compare.
Make sure you are at the top of the document

I have sent really large Word files as an attachment even using dial-up.
Why don't you still just type 1 document - sm
then when done with all the sound files, then upload that 1 document? I do short little blips for a doctor, and she sends me 30 or so voice files and I type them up in one document for her unless it is a letter, then that is its own file. The then cut/paste the correct paragraph into the patients file at their end. (each blip has the patient's name and visit date). Did your doctor decide to change things from how you were doing it before?

My current favorite....
revises every sentence at least 3 times without fail. My first runner up dictates on a cell phone, drops every other call, and spells out every other word in case I don't know how to spell anything with more than 6 letters.

I wouldn't. And you are talking about a total of 4 hours of driving per day, 20 hours per week, that you don't get paid for. You don't say where you live, but do you get snow, ice, etc. in the winter? That would be a nightmare.
It's good money, but personally I don't think it's worth it.
I have current QA contractors.
It would be cheaper still yet to give them a good raise and let the offshore MTs do the work, or so it looks on paper.

Not me. I was actually intimidated by my current
company. They haven't laid down a lot of the rules in writing, or even verbally, but several other MTs have told me how it is. They are very strict and I got fussed out because I didn't respond to an IM immediately. I'm still on probation for another 2 weeks and I'm curious if I'm doing what they except of me (my QA scores are great so I know I'm doing quality work) and they have nothing to say to me, or they are waiting until probation is over and then will lay everything on the line.
I think maybe most companies seem strict at first because they want you to understand you can't have 24 hour TAT. Some companies allow a long TAT, most don't. I know a lot of MTs who work for spending money and aren't interested in FT work, yet they take FT positions and then don't work a required schedule.
I also think that if you produce a minimun line requirement, produce a good product, aren't constantly taking time off, etc. that the company will cut you some slack. Good reliable MTs are scarce these days.

I read a lot of bad about SoftScript on here, but all of it was 2 or 3 years old. I'm wondering if anybody has any current information about the company they'd be willing to share. I've been talking to them about a job doing editing work and am curious to know if their reputation has improved at all. Thanks.
current pay scale
I am an IC with 30 years experience. I am currently making 12 cents a 65 character line with no benefits, no time off, no taxes taken out, which is nothing compared to what I used to make in the hospital with all benefits.
None of us make enough, nor are we appreciated for our speed, knowledge and hard work.

as much as anyone else -- for insurance purposes and any other reason they want.
