How does your contract read??? It if states
you are doing the work then they have the right to drop you from their account as you are not adhering to your contract. They have a right to know who is doing their work.
One of those days/weeks
I have had one of those weeks - but today took the cake.  Seems like I never stopped and have earned nothing lol.  My butt got bigger, my left leg hurts because I use my right foot and my left leg is permanently bent, my Son left for work and I did not even know it, My cat bit me because I forgot to feed him, my signifcant other made coffee and I forgot to drink it until it was so cold and nasty. and then I spilt it all over myself.  My youngest called and asked me to pick him up and I FORGOT.  The gypsy moths are eating my trees, They changed my mailman (what a cutie he used to be) Anybody else have one of those days today (I know we all did, so make it a bit humerous for all of us - God knows we could use the laugh I am sure.)
nah, I'd give two to three weeks, if they found someone before 30 days, they'd let her go pron

I posted a couple days ago about my contract negotiations with a hospital. SM

Now, we have negotiated 12 cpl and that I only need to deliver work three times a week.  We've also decided that radiology will be a whole separate contract and that next week I will do a sample of dictation to see if the dictators are going to be difficult.  And then the negotiations start again.

How am I doing so far?

Once you give notice and quit working, how many days/weeks/months

are you covered by your medical/dental insurance?  My employee handbook does not mention this.  Is there a "standard" period of time that you remain covered?  TIA for your reply.

On Survivor, they eat rice or corn for days or weeks. They win a reward and eat pizza, greasy

30 hours divided by four days equals seven-hour days. Most of us have to work pretty much every day
.
Working 6/hour days, 5 days/week I make
$42,000.00, but the work is there to make more if I want to.  I'm in the southeast.
Contract/no contract -- same rights
You do not have to have a written contract to take them to court.  All you have to do is to prove you have been providing  work to him, past statements/invoice will do that,  you just fill out the small claims forms and go to court.   But first of all I would personally go in and talk with someone about it.   Could be the office manager/bookkeeper and not the doctor that is not paying you.   He may not know anything about it.   And please do not  make the "joke" as above mentioned, that is very LOW class, tacky and not professional at all.  Especially if you are in a small area -- you need to conduct like a professional.  But call and make an "appointment" to talk with the doctor either in person or through a phone call.  Some doctors do not know what is going on in their office and perhaps the office manager wants to be paid first.  If the doctor does know, then in person or over the telephone inform him that you have no other choice but to pursue the debt just as they would if someone did not pay their bill and if that involves going to small claims court, then that is the route you must take.   Good luck.  I did take one to court without a contract and won.
2000 low days, 4000 busy days
Did 43,000 lines last month.   6 doctors.
You can "make a living" if you work 16-hr days, 7 days
and if you rarely buy anything but food and the barest essentials in clothing. My balancing act is so precarious that all it'll take is one of life's little disasters (rent increase, sick pet, major car repair) to pull the rug out from under me. Not a good feeling at all.
550-650 lph on average. Some days more, some days less. It all depends. nm

How? By working 12-hr days 7 days/week?

Also they have to pay to set up new states
So they might not want to hire from states not set up in already.
Indeed it does, as the letter clearly states
it was a DEP error
It clearly states in the message that they

she states below that she did try in the past sm
to bring on another IC but they were resistant to the idea.

She has already tried doing what you suggest, to no avail.

I have been in this situation as well, and while it is very true that we are, in essence, vendors to our clients, there are offices that are truly difficult to work with.

It is a good idea to consider taking an employee position in this case, I agree, but please know that she's already tried addressing the issue in the way you suggest. :-)
Some *states*. YIKES!
.
Working in 2 different states. sm

I know a MQMT who does this.  I don't know the particulars, but she's literally on opposite ends of the map at different times.  It seems to me that there should be no problem doing this.  Of course, time zones, etc. may vary, but things like that should be easily resolved.

Have fun, whatever you decide!

I work for a hospital 6 states away. SM

I have a physician list and I have a website to look for other doctors. But how can they expect me to know how to spell patients' names? They can't. I have a disclaimer at the top of my log sheet that says common or phonetic spellings will be used where patient name spellings are not provided.

That was the thing that held me up when I worked "live" from home for a hospital. All that diddling around finding out whether it was "Kathy" or "Cathy"  -- I don't do that any longer and you're right, it makes a HUGE difference.

4 states are taking refugees
The governor of Louisiana has asked four states to take refugees:  Tennessee, Texas, Oklahoma, and Utah.  I know Utah is scheduled to take 1000, starting to be flown in today (call the governor's hotline at 866-873-2437 if you live in UT and want to help), but I don't know about the others.  I would imaging they're taking more since they're closer.  This is being coordinated through FEMA, but the governor's offices of those other states probably would be of more direct help.  If you don't live in one of those states you could try to contact FEMA, but I imagine they're swamped right now.
I agree with most of this, but in most states you can't lock him out. sm
I agree you should get away from him, especially if there are kids involved, but in most states you're not allowed to lock him out of the house. It's his residence, too, and the police and judges will tell you that he has just as much right to be there as you do. Please be sure to check with a lawyer or with the local police before trying to lock him out of the house.
the post clearly states "replace" so you
Within 5 years, I think most if not all hospitals will be on ASR, and our final destinations as MTs will be editors.  Until they decide they do not need these formatted reports altogether.
In most states, if not all, it is illegal for a company
to charge you up-front for information about work, software necessary to work, etc.  They should do a payroll deduction, still doesn't guarantee they are a legitimate company though.
The audience would be the blue states,

aka, the ones who voted for Kerry.  I guarantee this movie will flop in the red states.  It's just one more attempt to push the gay agenda down our throats, making it more mainstream and palatable.  Won't happen in my state, Texas.  There is no such thing as a gay cowboy, that's an oxymoron.

Labor laws in some states (particularly CA) SM
are more stringent and some of the nationals won't hire from certain states because their laws are stricter than federal labor laws.

Unless an employer states you can represent them in
Few employers will want employees to advertise their personal lives in such a way and then tag it to their employer.

I don't blame them, either.

People have no sense.

Actually it makes sense in all 50 states

Have any of you in the higher priced states...
Just a question, don't get mad. I moved out of Delaware many, many years ago. The wages there are below national levels (don't know if its changed) and I found I could not be a single mom and buy a decent home for my child there. I did research and ended up in Florida where there is no state tax and cost of living was a lot cheaper. Even though we moved away from family, I think it was the best decision I ever made.
Some states just don't like Californians. PERIOD.
I know that having lived most of my life here, I would never want to live anywhere else, especially in a landlocked state with no ocean.
It certainly IS a national. They hire from other states.

Hope California would join the two states

Resident of Louisiana and all of the United States

PRAY! PRAY! PRAY!

As a resident of Louisiana, I ask that you all pray not only for those poor souls in New Orleans but for the whole state and surrounding areas.  The aftermath effect is going to be widespread. PRAY!   We are already experiencing food supply shortages.  Woman fighting over a loaf of bread in a Wal-Mart. PRAY!  Our kids may not be able to start school because there is no diesel or gas for the buses.  PRAY!  For this I urge all you have enormous SUVs just to ride around in to get rid of them.  The worst is yet to come.  PRAY!  There are reports of the centers having out breaks of riots not only in New Orleans but in the other areas housing the displaced people.  PRAY!  Also, help any way you can.  If you can not afford monetary donations, please give your time at one of the shelters.

All our lives have and/or will change from this tragedy no matter where you live.

Who is FREEDOMTYPE and are the in the United States? Thanks for any info.

most states have an internet registry where you can look up that info
When we bought our house, that website was one of the first places I went to before signing the contract.

This is not illegal in most states. Sometimes it's in the divorce agreement.

DOCTOR STATES OPINION AS FACT

I have a dictation that I really hate to send to put in the patient's chart. The doctor has stated as fact an opinion about this patient's illess (namely pain and depression). The statement that was made is going to follow this patient and probably keep her from receiving adequate treatment now and in the future. I know that as MTs we are to transcribe what the physician says, but I really feel for this patient as this physician is doing her a diservice - and I would think that if this gal is smart she would find herself an attorney, as this doctor is working on opinion rather than facts. The physician is foreign and has a much different view of the subject than informed "American" physicians - I just hate to have my initials on this poor woman's chart, knowing that the doctor is not adequately treating her problems. Okay - my vent for the day.

How long do states keep medical records?

The Labor Boards says (I think for most states) inside
I have been there done that. When my paycheck was being withheld for whatever reason, I found out the Labor Board says your paycheck cannot be withheld for any reason, you have to work that out outside the paycheck. When I told that to the company, my paycheck usually arrived.
