Microcassettes popping

Has anyone out there had trouble with Maxell microcasettes popping from the spool. For some reason, our office has gotten a batch of tapes that continues to pop from the spool when the physician dictates to the end of side A and then onto side B. Tapes are popping left and right. At first, it was just one particular physician's tapes, so we thought it was the machine. However, now they are all popping, but only if dictated to side B. Has anyone had better luck with other brands? Need some help. The physicians don't want to redictate, so I am losing $ and they are wasting time dictating only to have the tape pop.

popping ankle
Tendon which runs through and along the ankle 'slips-out' of the channel in the bone in which the tendon normally rests and slides through (kinda like a belt or rope in a pully. Due to a couple of different reasons the tendon can become disloged from the "process" and get pinched. The popping is made when the tendon snaps back into place.
Microcassettes
I used them years ago. I don't know anything about digital stuff, maybe if the doc gets it for you, there will be some sort of tutorial to go along with it. Ugh - bad tapes! What we have to put up with!!
Why does this India site still keep popping up?
Any ICs working with microcassettes
Having a problem with one of my docs tapes. One report will be fine and then the volume gets really loud and muffled sounding....so muffled that it's hard to determine lab values accurately. He's ready to ditch the microcassette and go digital. I have no clue what I would need to transcribe digital. Right now I'm using a Sony microcassette transcribing unit. Any suggestions ?? Thanks !!
no no no - do not use microcassettes - go digital/internet and this is why...sm
You DO NOT want to be picking up tapes. Believe me! You do not make any money when you aren't typing...don't go there. Go to Bytescribe's page on DocShuttle. For under $300, you can get an FTP administrator, and a Client. FTP sites costs less than $50 a year. Get an Olympus recorder and mess with it until you know the recorder and uploading/downloading inside and out. Docs love to dictate on their handhelds (pacifiers), then all they have to do is dock and upload to your ftp site. Cuts down turnaround time and takes care of stats. You will have to have something in place to offer the physician who hasn't used a service yet. Pick what works FOR YOU and sell him on it (i.e. decreases turn around time, can accomodate stats, he has the completed files back in his office for HIPAA purposes, he can make his own corrections without waiting for you to do it, etc.). Put a positive spin on whatever is helpful to you and sell him on it. I even have some of my docs buy the recorders and software, or offer to "lease" it to them for $10 a month. Docshuttle also has a TASP in case you get the guy who absolutely must dictate into a phone.
As far as getting an account is the easy part, but figuring out the equipment, paper logistics is the hard part...that's why most MT's don't become an MTSO or even get their own accounts...harder than you thought, hmm?
I think microcassettes are used more often nowadays then minis.

Check out ExpressScribe. There is a way with them and it is free. Microcassettes also.

Heavens, now you're popping in about NOT having kids. You've sure been quiet for a while!
If you read the whole thread and all my comments, I said that MTing is a big career choice for women in their childbearing years when they want to work at home. We ALL know that, though some of us want to refuse that reality. It always has been the #1 career choice for women who want to work and be home with their kids. Period. Of course, there are a lot of other women who choose the career or fall into it for different reasons. Its like the #1 job new moms or wanna-be moms look into. You all sure blast them when they post on here with a few innocent Qs on how to get into the industry. You don't have kids by choice - good for you! You and I have crossed paths many, many times before. Its a great choice for you, and I totally respect it. At least you aren't having kids and dumping them in day care centers! That I just do NOT get, and never will, especially when you could have them home with you - at least the choice is there. And as for moms not being able to control their kids, you will NEVER be able to control them when you just ship them out. No one ever seems to post an argument on that one. Yeah, I couldn't control little Johnny and Sara. They never wanted to just entertain themselves, or play with each other. All they did was fight and scream and demand MY attention, so...off they went to day care, and now its SO much better when they're home. They get along beautifully now, and just LOVE each other, and no more fighting...Nope, the only peace is the 8, or 10, or 12 hours a day that they are absent from their home. Sooo sad. And the poor day care workers and teachers - they get to deal with the disastrous kids whose own mothers can't stand them underfoot, but at least they get paid $$ for it!! Maybe I'm in the wrong profession.
you can use incredimail to get the receipt function, works with most normal emails by popping or how
to send the work to her, that way you have a receipt basically that it is sent and when she picked it up. it is crypted and doesn't take long to send and/or use. it is free download at hypersend.com. the free part does have a limit to how much can be sent a month, but i use several accts and swap when i run out of room. i had a company that didn't go through the MTSO to request resends, they went through me. i finally had to start billing. i billed 0.25 for every resend and it took my time to locate the file they wanted, attach, and resend for free. i didn't mind when it was occasionally, but to us time is money and when it takes away from your production, you should be compensated.
