Maybe this is a blessing in disguise

Something similar happened to my husband. He was a high-end executive for a major corporation but, in a setting like that, you have to keep climbing the corporate ladder or somebody on it below you will run you right over. We never saw my husband. He barely knew our kids. Then, after a series of catastrophic health problems, he was disabled permanently. He had long-term disability, thank God, but it only kept us at about 1/2 our old income and the medical bills (scripts, docs, etc) are huge. Financially it has really sucked and got very desperate for a while. Where's the blessing? He KNOWS our kids now and they know him. We have a pretty good life, in terms of quality, on what has been a totally suck financial situation. If you can make it even with $50 to spare, take this time and be good to yourself and your son. You might just be amazed at the blessings that come your way.

Talk about blessing in disguise
I came so close to joining the Army when I was 18 I had actually had the physical and was told I was 5 pounds overweight and to come back in 2 weeks to reweigh. Thank God I came to my senses in that 2 weeks. Nothing against the military but there is no way I would have ever survived it, I am severe ADD, plus I could actually be in Iraq right now due to the stop loss crap they've been pulling. So that 5 pounds saved my butt!
I don't think you can erase with that machine (which is actually a blessing in disguise!) but sm

Get a Certron micro/mini cassette eraser.  I've had mine for 10 years - paid like $5 for it then, and I still use it every single day.  I have two docs that insist on micro, bless 'em!  At least I know they won't go to VR!  But make sure you store the eraser somewhere so the magnets on that tiny little thing don't erase something you don't want them to.

I got mine at Staples, but it is possible they don't carry them any longer.  When I googled it I could only find it at some off-the-wall places... like this link here.

A blessing for sure! Lucky you! :) nm

Congratulations! Keep it up - one day at a time! What a blessing. nm
