I am looking for Debbie from Keystrokes who used to be my mentor/supervisor. Debbie, are you out there? I would like to talk to you. Thanks,

Cathy

I am also still looking for Suanne from AllType.

Well then Debbie there you have it!
You are their employee to utilize how they see fit.  If you would like to solely work from home, then you must cut your ties as an employee and become an independent contractor.  Of course, you would probably make more money, but then again it sounds like they need a medical secretary/transcriptionist.  So, they would probably part ways with you and hire someone else in your place.  It sounds to me like you had better go in and do the work required unless you do not want to work for them.  Good luck on whatever you decide.
Hey, Debbie Downer!
I got a chuckle out of that- just love that skit on SNL! You are probably right. I can see as well as anyone where this profession is going. Once I can't make reasonable money any more, I'm out. I refuse to do VR, and won't work for pocket change. But right now, I'm making decent money and like what I'm doing, so what the hey? I say if you're that bitter, you need to move on. Find something that will reward your talents. By the way,I won't be in this profession in 30 years, as I will probably be dead. I'm 52 now. I spent a number of years in corporate management with a staff to do my dirty work and an office with a view (and a big paycheck). I happen to like this better at this stage of life.
Are you always such a Debbie Downer? sm
I have found in life that if I look for the positive, I find it. You are finding negative spins even on good things. Wow. It must be exhausting to be you. I would talk to someone so that you can enjoy life a little more. It's not all gloomy out here!
