Look at it this way

You can get an M-Tec or Andrews MT education that will virtually guarantee you a job when you've successfully completed the program, or you can take one of the cheap courses and be left with a poor education and no one who will hire you.
With one of the good courses (Andrews, M-Tec), you will earn back the cost of you tuition very quickly. With the cheap courses, you will end up spending even more to supplement the poor training you got. The M-Tec and Andrews tuition includes every reference book a new working MT would need. You don't get that with the other courses. Once you finish those cheap courses, you are still unemployable, plus you still have to shell out big bucks for the reference books you'll need to do your job, if you ever get one. Check out the books that come with the M-Tec course, then price them individually.
Yes, M-Tec (and Andrews) are worth the money. The proof is the jobs their graduates get. Many companies that advertise they only hire MTs with two years of experience will hire a new M-Tec or Andrews grad because they know they are job ready. That's worth a couple of bucks, surely.
In this case, you really do get what you pay for. Call M-Tec and/or Andrews and talk to the owners. Ask your questions. Ask more questions. You'll get answers that make sense. Call any of the other schools and ask the same questions. That should convince you.
