Precyse QA
Can anyone tell me how the QA is with this company? I know their QA head person came from Edix and I remember that Edix had gotten to the point you would lose points if you put a comma where they didn't think you needed one.

How long were you with the other company? My company runs out of work often too. What company are you leaving if you don't mind me asking? I may work for the same! Let us know how precyse works out for you.
Precyse
I don't know anything about this company, but I found the following in archives, hope this helps:

I've worked for Precyse for 3 years and have been in the MT profession for 22+ years.
What I like best about this company: They let me do my job. I chose my shift, I do my job and provide 99% to 100% accuracy on my QA audits, which means they leave me be. I don't have to deal with petty complaints, cherry picking, or jumping around. I have been working on the same 2 accounts the entire time I have been there, which for some reason escapes other nationals what an advantage it is to keep people where they can be most efficient and productive (good for the company, good for the MT). They pay me well and on time, offer bonuses and appreciation gifts. My PC has never been down, so I do not lose time on technical issues---big plus. They don't call me every day asking me to work extra, maybe an Email occasionally, but do not drive me crazy calling or making me feel guilty. In return, they can depend on me to be at my PC when I am scheduled and to produce what is needed.
What I do not like about Precyse: Good question. I'm a pretty happy camper, and that's saying a lot in this business!

I like the fact that I do my job, I'm paid well, and I'm left alone. Computer downtime maybe for 15 minutes here and there, but that is maybe once in a blue moon. I also love their payroll system. They have a system where timesheets are entered online, you can withdraw PTO from your personal account anytime you want to, and you can check online to see what your check will be a few days before it is actually deposited in your account. So you can budget and plan accordingly. Also, great people to work with. Everyone is a team, and management is extremely helpful. I won't paint Precyse as the "perfect" company, but honestly I don't have any complaints working for them.

Precyse
I would rather not name the company I am leaving. I haven't notified them yet that I'm leaving (the owner is in Hawaii at the AAMC convention) and my e-mail address is somewhat obvious. I'm fairly new as far as working from home. I only started from home at the end of December 2004. Prior to that I worked in-house at a clinic. When I took this job, the owner said I would NEVER run out of work. Unfortunately I have, and more than once. I will let you know what happens with Precyse. JW
DSG and Precyse to name 2
Not Precyse. No way, never.
Just thinking about Precyse creeps me out. Managers double dip and transcribe leaving the ugly work for MTs.
Precyse
Thanks for the info! I'd like to start out part-time with a company and then if everything goes well, go full-time. I just don't want to leave my present company in case things are worse elsewhere. :)
Precyse
That is what I did. I was working FT for a hospital and then I thought I wanted to retire and I just worked PT for Precyse while I had my full-time job. I stayed at Precyse for about 1-1/2 years and then got back into a hospital as a full-time employee getting paid by the hour plus incentive. Pauline
EIN - Precyse
Does anyone know the EIN for Precyse Solutions? Thanks.
Precyse Solutions
I am about to accept a position with Precyse Solutions. I'm leaving the company I was with because they run out of work too frequently. I had no work at all last week and I need to pay bills. Can anyone tell me if Precyse is as great as it sounds? Thanks, JW ');>
Precyse Info
Precyse is a good fit for me and I plan to stay with them. It all depends on what you are looking for. You can Email me with specific questions and I will be happy to tell you anything I can.

I used to QA at Precyse Solutions
and can tell you that the offshore work went through several layers of their own QA and still would have major errors when I got it. I can only imagine how horrible the reports are before their QA edits them.
I got sick of doing QA on the offshore reports and left.
Feedback on Precyse Solutions?
Does anybody know anything good or bad about this company? I am looking for a good MT employment position, and I have been burned before (by Voice Systems--they don't pay!).

PRECYSE SOLUTIONS---PS MT EXASPERATED--SM
Tonight an ad posted on MT Jobs 03/24/2006 claims tons of work available, yet I know for a fact quite a few MTs have had little to no work for 4 out of the last 6 weeks. Any current PS MTs out there having the same problem? If so, do you have any insight as to why?
Precyse. Good, bad, ugly?
thanks!
Any Info on Precyse Solutions?
Just curious if anyone knows what may be happening at Precyse Solutions. I have heard they are cutting back on their benefits, as in not matching 401K plan any longer. Is it possible they are being approached by a buyer and cutting back to beef up their profit margin? I was looking into working for them, but if there is instability there, I'd rather weigh my options more carefully.
Precyse and SoftScript offer dial up, too. nm

C-phone speed help! PLEASE! Speed key!
I am in tears - typing speedy gonzalez - a total knee replacement, not a standard, dictated in under 1 minute - FULL REPORT! Can you imagine? I have a C-phone that is just hanging in there, but lost all its programming. Isn't there a # key on the number part of the phone that reduces speed? I need it way slooooooooooow!! I'm afraid to just start hitting numbers, though, cause I've lost reports that way!! Anybody have a # to hit for me???
ER notes
Don't worry. It has been my experience being a Transcriptionist for a huge hospital that I loved the ER notes the most. They are really pretty much abbreviated H&P's and are sometimes the most interesting reports of all. Not nearly as difficult as some surgeries or discharges notes can be. Simple and brief and sometimes a really good story.
OP NOTES
I just started doing op notes at the hospital I work in and it is hard as there are so many different instruments they use that I have never even heard of. I use a surgical word book and Google a lot. That's about it.
To me, O.R. notes
get really boring. I prefer discharges - just my personal opinion. Plus once I get used to them, I can go really fast.
Doc notes
I do two internal medicine Docs, SOAP notes only and minor procedures and love it I also did other specialities, but all that was lost to outsourcing to INDIA!
op notes
Operative notes. Perhaps as far a leap from clinic work as is possible. Not something for you to jump into with no experience.
Not op notes but
This site has brand names of surgical instruments. You can choose by speciality and manufacturer also.
http://ptiresource.50megs.com/about.html
Even for op notes? sm
I can see where being paid this way would have its advantages when doing DS and work types where there is a lot of paper shuffling, looking for values, etc., but I am concerned about op notes where the dictation is speedier.
OP notes
I love doing OP notes. They are so interesting. Anyway there is a website that I use now and then and it is
www.mt911.com it also has samples.com on it and has alot of different samples.
Also a good reference book is The surgical word book by Saunders.
Hope this helps.
OP notes
I only type OPs. I have done it for 8+years and LOVE IT. Its a niche that is hard for companies to fill, it seems. I would say it would be a great move on your part. Good luck!
Op notes
At my current company, op notes are paid at 9 cents a line for over a year experience. At my previous company, op notes were paid the same as any other type of report; cpl was based on difficulty of the account and ranged from 7.5 to 10 cpl, with op notes being paid the same as other basic 4 reports.
OP notes
If you already work for a service, maybe they have OP accounts. I would tell them you would like to learn. Ask if they could assign you a few each day and have them go to QA for feedback.
I would also buy a few surgical reference books. I feel the books are much easier to use than Google because so many instruments, brand names, etc, sound alike.
Good luck. I love my OP accounts.
RE: OP notes
Some people like OPs and some people like DS. I like DS. They talk too fast on OPs. If you can get them down, they say about the same thing. You can put that in your shortcuts and make more money just by popping it in there.
OP notes
Any good sites for OP notes?
thanks Lori
Op notes
Does anybody have any tips on the best places to specialize in op notes? I need a place where I can do heavy volume ops -- not interested in basic 4 stuff.
Thanks.
me too as far as the notes and sm
standard phrases for certain docs go. It was nice when the docs would come in and talk too or even fuss sometimes! haha Most MTs knew how to come back at them and didn't take a whole lot off them and didn't have to. They respected us (at least most of them) for that. I think there are actually docs now that don't even realize there is a "person" behind all of this doing MT. NEver thought I would see this profession get like this taht's for sure.
And probably her notes look like
Op notes do fit in expander (nm)

So if you've never done OP notes,
do they figure 3 out of 4 ain't bad?????
Would like to exchange notes..sm
I'm thinking along these same lines..email me. I have some questions.
Love OP notes, which I could do them always. nm

I'm used to op notes, been doing DS lately, hate them. nm

Chart Notes
Was wondering if anyone could help me out. I need to see some example of different ways to set up chart notes. If anyone knows of a place on the net i can view these of would send me some blanked out that would be great!!!!!

Lotus Notes
Has anyone used lotus notes to transcribe in? Any info appreciate. Please email me if you like. Thanks!
I think clinic/ ER notes sm
would be a good place to start, either working as an IC/employee for a national or getting your own accounts.
Good luck!
I love ER notes and of course I never get them. sm
My favorite and I still laugh over this, was the patient that came in with a double AA battery in the rectum. Mind you the patient was about 25. Doc snickered all the way through the report and told the patient never to put anything there again.
