The Strausburg RR is up in Lancaster, PA - sm
it is just a little jaunt, 45 minutes round trip, but it is a fun little ride through Lancaster/Amish country. I have done it several times with my kids, one of the special things I used to do with my mom up there (they lived about an hour from there). Dutch Wonderland is great too if you have smaller children (i.e. 3-10), totally geared to kids (Hershey Park now owns it too). I will be doing both this summer with my kids. They love DW and am going to Hershey Park with them for their first time sometime over the summer. Amusement parks are always winners with kids. Have fun!
If you happen to live near Lancaster , PA or near an Amish
one of their handmade furniture stores. That is where I got a beautiful hand made rocking horse, very similar in looks to what you are looking for (for $50). Kids still use it at 5 & 7, I will keep it for their kids one day.
I live in Lancaster, PA and you should check out the Sound and Light Show near Strasburg. nm
