In Reply to: What are macros? - _

A macro is helpful to anyone who uses a computer, not just MTs.  Basically its a shortcut you program to type anything lengthy or go directly to a function, such as saving, that it would take you several steps to do otherwise.  Depending on your software, it might be a function key, a combination of alt or control keys, or an acronym of several commands.  If anyone has ever told you to use Alt-control-delete to escape from a crashed program, that's a macro.  Entire programs have been written to manage your macros and shortcuts, such as Shorthand.  A bookmark or favorite that you use to save your favorite websites is also a macro.  It is up to the user's imagination and memory how many macros and shortcuts they can create and the more you make the faster you can type, do data entry, or program.

What is appropriate is that the patient's doctor asked for blessings over this patient's health. What IS inappropriate is *your* interpretation of appropriate and inappropriate. I sure hope you never transcribe my reports and become the filter for or against information that is put in my records!
Be me up, Scotty!

To Star Trek fans ...  James Doohan, who played Scotty on the original Star Trek, died in July of this year, and his ashes will be launched into outer space next year - per his wishes - through a company called Space Services, Inc.  I checked out this company, and now I have it in my will that my ashes are to be launched into outer space when my times comes to pass on.  I know I will never live long enough to see or visit a space station (a long-time dream of mine), so having my remains launched up there is the closest thing.
