That's okay, don't worry about it. And yes, I do have all the vertebrae down to S2 - and I still have to actually use the shift key occasionally for S3, S4, or S5. Guess I should just go ahead and put them in, huh?

Hi...AnnieM...
Just following the suggestion of a co-worker. I went back inhouse and during training she noticed I didn't use many shortcuts. She suggested the book "Saving Keystrokes." However, I am just wondering if that is the only book available.
As for macros, I really would need a book of some sort for that. I never learned "how to" macro, not just what to put in the macro.
Anyway, thanks for the insight and suggestions. Take it easy.
AnnieM has the right idea. sm
I don't do radiology, but for learning new stuff wanted to underline using your expander. You can set up "thesaurus" entries of related words, so that when an incomprehensible term is dictated you can do a quick Expander search on an associated word you do hear to see what you've entered for it. This is similar to what you find on looking up a word in Stedman's but is totally personalized and up to date for the accounts you're working on. The search term can also be a radiologist's name, with the entries for it various terms peculiar to that person, or perhaps atrociously pronounced words you've managed to identify before. For the basic expanding function, you can enter new terms spelled both correctly and phonetically (helpful especially for brand names), three or four different ways if necessary, with the expanded forms for all, of course, correct. Best wishes.
AnnieM! Was it you who told me....
many months ago that the letters would eventually rub off? Mine are JUST starting to rub off now...had it about a year. This is the Eclipse II with the 3 colors. Fantastic keyboard. Bummed that my space bar now has a huge oval of light from where my thumb hits, and A, N, H, have rubbed off, but other than that, I've been very pleased with this keyboard. Why oh why can't they just make keys for touch typists that won't wear the paint off them?! It's no sweat off my sac except it looks fugly, know what I mean?
My husband tried to get me to use his keyboard, something called "Happy Hacker" and although the feel is fantastic and it's a nice compact keyboard wtih no numeral pad (I never use mine) it has NO BACKSPACE button! Can you imagine?! Do hackers not use a backspace?! They really are freaks ;-)
