Keystrokes. sm
I know that they have gotten beat up on here lately and had good posts too, but I think that each company is different for each person. I have found a permament place, as long as they stay this way or improve. I am treated fairly, paid well and on time. I am left alone as long as I do what I commit to. This is a perfect situation for me, but to each his own.
Try Keystrokes
They may have radiology positions open.
Keystrokes

Viki,

I sent you some info via email.  Check your email.

keystrokes ads
anyone know why Keystrokes has ads requiring at least 3 years experience but their website says 5?  which one is it?

Keystrokes

Does anybody know about the company called Keystrokes Transcription Service, Inc out of Illinois?  Am thinking about working for them.

Keystrokes, MDI-MD
to name a couple.
Keystrokes
This company always pays on time and in general is easy to work for.  QA and TAT are big priorities as in most every other company, but also they try to keep their employees happy.  They also do not offshore and pay is good.
Keystrokes
I have applied to Keystrokes over three weeks ago for radiology positions.  Unless they are not happy with my work, could anyone tell me why they continue to advertise for 30, 60, however many openings they have?  What gives with them?  Any input would be appreciated.  Thanks.
How many keystrokes TX vs. VR
For those MTs that do VR editing, about how many Keystrokes would you say you do compared to straight typing?  10%?  20%?  I know it varies but I am just looking for a ballpark figure.  For those that had RSI symptoms, have you found relief in editing??

Thanks!

Hi:

You want to know about Keystrokes.  Well I am currently on an account that requires 1200 lines/day.  It is a very difficult acount though and most cannot make this goal.  they are not at all flexible here, but there are many other accounts, so depends on where you are working.  If you would like more info, you can email me at above email address.

Hope this helps.

Does Keystrokes run this place? nm

Question about Keystrokes
I am considering applying to Keystrokes for a MT job as I see they are advertising for a variety of MTs. Has anyone here had any experience with them or know anything about this company.
I just want some feedback before I jump in. Thanks!
The latest with Keystrokes

New to this site.  Read something a while ago about Keystrokes not hiring.  Does anyone know anything about them now?  How are they to work for and how do they pay?  Thanks for any information, good, bad or ugly.

Saving Keystrokes
I did just purchase this book and think it has substantial advice/ideas and with a little reprogramming of my brain I think it will pay off greatly in the long run. I don't see how a line count can't be increased with using the short cuts shared in the book. I'm not disappointed with the book.
KEYSTROKES-YOUR OPINION

I AM INTERESTED IN APPLYING FOR A POSITION WITH KEYSTROKES.  CAN ANYONE PROVIDE ME WITH SOME INFORMATION ON KEYSTROKES?  DO THEY HAVE STEADY RADIOLOGY ACCOUNTS AND HOW IS THE STAFF?

THANKS FOR ANY INFORMATION YOU CAN PROVIDE!!!-

Keystrokes is good. nm

Keystrokes is the best out there for radiology. They may have some sm
negative posts here but I love radiology and they are the best that I have found with plenty of work.
ks is Keystrokes, an MT company.

Lots and lots of abbreviations, most if you think about it will are obvious -

nt - no text

KWIM  - know what I mean

ITA - I totally agree

HTH - hope this helps

Saving Keystrokes
I probably don't type as fast as most of you, but our company set a standard of 160 lph, and said that the national average is 175.  Since adding shortcut keystrokes, I have gotten my production counts up to an average of 179 now.  I got a lot of this information from you girls - reading your comments, and now have just gotten the book "Saving Keystrokes" as I want to keep adding more.  If you add a few each week, you can build up your production.  I was at about 130-150, depending upon how the doctors dictated that day - one is much more challenging!

Spheris v Keystrokes
I have worked for Spheris. Follow your instincts and do what your heart says. If it says leave Spheris, it is correct! I am a new hire of Keystrokes and they are really busy with lots of new accounts. I do have to say the owner herself contacted me several times, the recruiter, payroll, and when things needed doublechecking, a coordinator of my paperwork and equipment. To top it off, the lady who sets the computer up is fantastic. These people will continue to grow because they have that old-time feel. There are growing pains, I can see, but my heart tells me what others have said: These are good people and a good place to work. Good luck!
Keystrokes has an ad on the job seeker's
board.  It pays 8 cpl.  You should check it out.  I'm not sure if they do voice recognition, but if you can avoid those companies that do, you'll make better wages on straight transcription.  Just send your resume to some of the companies that are advertising and see what pans out.  Decide a rate for yourself and don't accept anything lower than that.  Decide if you want employee status or IC/statutory.
Curious about Keystrokes
Hello to everyone!

I read so many positive comments about Keystrokes and am interested in applying.

I was wondering in anyone knew the following:

What is the minimum daily requirement for full-time employees?

Are they flexible with schedules?

All positive comments appreciated..........please no slamming!

Thanks to everyone!

Oh, God forbid we get an extra two keystrokes
pretty obvious what side of the fence they're on
Call Lee at Keystrokes. She's a nice gal.

Radiology Work-Keystrokes

Any information on Keystrokes radiology.  They have several adds with different formats.  One I might be interested in but afraid to take the plunge.  I have done work for the same two radiologists for 10 years and know what they are going to say before they say it.  What is their rate of pay and are there many ESL?

I would say go for it. Keystrokes is the best I have found for radiology. nm

You can program keystrokes into your shortforms. sm
I have a lot of templates stored in word. Because you can program any key into a macro, you can make a macro that switches over to work, calls up the template you want, copies it, and pastes it into your current document. I can also use it as an abbreviation expander.

how to do this with Scribe, working with Keystrokes
Does anyone know how to actually be able to get to macros in this Scribe program.  It always locks when you open another copy of Word.  How can one import anything into this Scribe, so I can use more Expanders than what I do now?  Looking for an answer from an actual MT who is an MT, not QA.  ---  thank you
Keystrokes is the best I have found for radiology. sm
I cannot say about their other work though. My checks were correct except once, and it was fixed within 2 days. My direct deposit has been on time all but one one time and that was one day and we got an email about it beforehand and knew that it was going to be late and why (the payroll person entered the direct deposit posting date wrong). The only other check problem (not really a problem) I ever had was that I got a double deposit but it was taken back out within a few days.

I have a lot of work on my account and a back-up account for slow times. I do 125-135 reports a day in 8 hours but my fingers are not as fast as when I was younger.

My accounts have a good mix of ESL and EFL radiologists. I actually prefer a few of the ESL ones to the EFL ones.

My team lead on one account is great; the team lead on my other account is a joke but I rarely have contact with her.

I have tried about 8 other companies (embarassing to someone who was at the same hospital for 12 years) and like Keystrokes the best.
Does Keystrokes hire PT radiology MTs?
dd
GOODCO could you tell me how to get in touch with GTN and keystrokes. sm
I also am looking for a good company to go with for IC status. Thank you I would really appreciate it. Have a good day.
Keystrokes made me turn and run...(sm)
If Keystrokes just received 500 resumes for 25 positions, why are they now advertising again? Is it because their at-home account manager finally calls you back as her baby is having a personal meltdown? Is it because they offer things they either do not, or cannot deliver on? Is it because their testing procedures require you to change PC configurations and download software from a website? Is it because they love to tell you they have over 200 MTs and bill in the millions of lines per month, yet their starting wage is so low, anyone with experience would be insulted? I encourage everyone to take the bad signs, the uneasy feeling in the pit of your stomach, the sloppy hiring practices of some of these companies, and spend your time elsewhere. That way in the end, if it doesn't work out, you don't  have to blame yourself.
reply to wondering about keystrokes

I transcribed radiology for Keystrokes, just watch your pay very close, the guy who does payroll tries to say he was given the wron information, etc!! They do NOT pay on time at all!! Just be aware of that if you decide to work for them.  They are not good at giving feedback either!  Of course you could look at it like no news is good news too!!

Keystrokes has accounts that do not require ULD. Some do, some don't. nm

Keystrokes Definitions for EXText

Control A

Allows you to edit the copy (CC) list.  We don’t use this usually in this capacity as the CCs are predetermined by the attending physician’s profile.  However, if the dictating physician wants a physician added and you don’t know how to spell the name, you can Control A and enter the 1st letter of the last name plus a question mark i.e., A?.  Al the physician’s with A as the beginning of the last name will come up.  I use this quite often to confirm spelling of physician names.

Control B

Bold

Control C

Copy.  You can highlight any text in any document and Control C to import it to a new document or duplicate it in an existing document.

Control F

Opens Word’s Find screen, which allows you to search the document for text, formatting, special characters, etc.  You may also access Find and Replace from this screen.

Control G

This allows you to change the routing for the report, which has been set up by the profile.  For example, when you leave a report for review, you would Control G and remove all the routing with the exception of Transcription Department.  That would allow it to print only here and nowhere else until we have completed the report.  Once you have printed the report with the new routing, the default routing reappears.

Control H

Puts a document on hold.  If you were transcribing a report and could not quite understand the physician’s H&P, you can Control H and then search for another H&P by that same physician to review.

Control J

Brings the TES screen up.  This comes in handy when you are typing a report, choose a date of transcription from the list of dates, and then find that the dictation is for another date.  Control J will bring up the TES screen, you then place a ? mark in the visit box and all of the visit dates for that patient will be displayed.  You can then select the correct visit date for which the physician is dictating.

Control N

Saves, spell checks, and distributes documents.

Control O

Opens a document that has been put on hold.

Control P

Pause session.

Control Q

Exits ExText without saving the document.

Page 13

Control R

Brings up any normals established for the client from which you may choose.

Control S

Search for a document.

Control T

Cancels document without saving it.  Sends voice back to pool.

Control V

Pastes any copied material to where you want it to go.

Control W

Changes worktype.  When the TES screen comes up as an H&P and the doctor begins his dictation by saying he is typing an OP or Consult, you can make the change on this screen.  However, if the doctor does not say anything about the work type and you begin typing, and then realize that the H&P is actually a consult, then you can Control W and it will bring up a list of templates.  You identify the one you want, click on it, and it will import it into your document.  This will also change your footer to be the correct work type.  Remember to delete the original template from the document you are typing.

Control X

Allows you to cut something from one place and place in another place.  Unlike Control C, it does not duplicate the material, just moves the original.

RadNet Platform with Keystrokes - sm

I would like some information about the RadNet platform with Keystrokes.  Is it easy to learn?  Is it word-based?  Is it productive?

Thank you!

Keystrokes has many C-phone accounts and the
owner of the company uses Comcast, and has for many months without any issues.   There are others who have used it as well without any problems.  I used TWC as Comcast isn't available in my area.   I questioned them several times to be sure it would be truly unlimited LD and for the few months I used it I had no problems.
Saving Keystrokes book

I keep hearing MTs talking about this book.  I guess I should get it.  Is there a downloadable version of this book so that I don't have to wait on it to get here?  Has it really helped you all improve your production?  Is it more than then just telling you how to make expansions with the ABCZ method?

Thanks

Anyone get their MQ aco file to transfer to Keystrokes DQS? sm
I have tried and tried to get this to transfer over, but their is only spot I can find in the DQS system for it. I have copied my old file there, and it still only shows the header file preloaded in DQS. Anyone else have any luck with this? Thanks :)
Saving Keystrokes by Diana Rolland.
I think that's what she titled the newest version of her book.  I got mine from Half.com.  I went from 6% to 34% on my expander stats since I read the book, and I still add more expansions every day.
Keystrokes is hiring due to new accounts. I trained on one of them on sm
Thursday as a backup to my main account.  I have been there for nine months and have been very happy with the change.  There are a lot of posts in the archives; use your own judgement.  It has been a good company for me.
Is there a way to synchronize keystrokes with cursor blink?

It seems as if my Keystrokes are made but the cursor landing the typed letter on the screen are not in time, if that makes sense.  It does not happen in wordpad just in the Meditech portion of my program.

I went into control panel and adjusted cursor blink but then it was worse, adjusted time to "fast" on the slide scale but that also made it worse.  Am I doomed to the fact that when I hit a key, the character I typet will appear in a nanosecond as opposed to immediately?

Thank you!

The company I USED to work for changed how keystrokes were SM
counted without telling us. This went gradually on over a period of months. Because my work hours were rather erratic (largely due to not enough work available--they were offshoring our accounts without telling us too), I preferred to assume my lowered production speed had to do with that. And went through the same confused and upset period as everyone else, thinking/wishing/hoping I could cure the problem by working better.

I'm at fault for not recognizing what was happening much sooner and demanding an answer, thus setting myself up for abuse. The questions I finally asked--out of curiosity about what they would say because I had had already learned the truth--were responded to with careful evasions and total failure to disclose.

I did ultimately leave that company for these reasons.

We can--have to, after all--accept that the rapid changes brought by new technologies and methods of increased production require changes in how the counts are done, and that these changes may be fairly and appropriately calibrated.

We do not not have to, and should not, accept not being told it's being done or being mislead or lied about what's happening. Best wishes.
Is this book (Saving Keystrokes) worth

buying if I already use lots of expanders?  I think I have almost overdone it in some ways.  I need to delete some obscure ones I made that are taking up letters I could use for something more critical.

Wondering if that book would help or if I have a good enough handle on the concept already.  ?  Does the book cover anything other than making expanders?

Thanks!
