I'll look into these computer glasses you speak of.  Wearing glasses rather than contacts really did help.. I don't know how or why, but it did.  Maybe the combination of antiglare screen and antiglare lenses? 

My monitor's screen is supposed to be antiglare, but I still am thinking one of the antiglare hook-ons might be helpful.  Only problem with that is I have an 'old fashioned' monitors (the kind that are huge and weigh a ton) and not one of the flat screens so not sure if I'll find one to fit. 

I spend more time on the electronic, computer, mechanization of this stuff - I can't even do transcription.

I use to think being a hooker would be bad, but now I'm having second thoughts.  And I definitely am having doubts that "creature comforts" are worth the pain of living in the so called civilized world we are in now. 

Oh yeah, by the way, I spent 2 hours on hold altogether just trying to get to a tech support at NORTON! an hour trying to get tech support for my internet provider, another 6 hours screwing around with the computer - 2 hours the other day just moving it from one room to the other.

I am so out of here!  They (the MT companies) can find some other *patsy* to sucker these costs onto.

It took hours and hours of being on hold to get tech support at Norton/Symantec!  Then they were all Inidan/Chinese/French - couldn't understand a word they said!

They were having me call my internet provider - internet provider making me call Norton - back and forth back and forth! grrrr

Finally they sent me to www.symantec.com/symnrt and I had to literally break my computer down and rebuild it. 

My computer kept saying "you are already running a Symantec program on your computer....then it said you have done an illegal action/every time I did anything!....then it said the Configuration Wizard is still working (had to figure out how to turn that stupid thing off....it changed the settings in my internet options panel/I never touched it but when internet provider looked in there it had totally been changed.

I couldn't update my LIVE UPDATE! Whatever it was kept locking me out of dialing out or loading the new updates which of course left me vulnerable to viruses.

I have Windows98 - but the Norton Antivirus program is for both Windows XP and 98.

she admits she is on *pain medications due to back problems* but it's ridiculous while she is on American Idol...she becomes sloppy, falls all over either Simon or Randy and then gushes over ALL the contestants.....I *heard* that when her contract is over, they are thinking of asking Cher to take Paula's place, and that would be so refreshing. 

Personally, I am more sick of Paula Abdul on this show than Simon Cowell.

AND. . . my Christmas tips last year were over $500.00 for 65 customers.  It's only 5 small streets in my own neighborhood (no car required) amd takes less than an hour every morning.

Great exercise, great nontaxable money.

My only drawback is that I live in the Northeast and it's kinda rough in February when it's 20 below.

PRD is on my old MQ program, but I can't seem to get it moved over to my Microsoft Word page.  I can't seem to get my Stedman's Spell check over there either.

I have been feeling bad the past couple days about making my sister upset. They think I am too down on their son, which is WAY off mark.   I am down with the way they have given him this gift (car), and how he takes it for granted, and how THEY cannot see that.   They bought it brand spanking new, and he had it trashed the first few weeks with cigarette stink, never cleaning it, etc.  They would drop little hints about how he should maintain it....  but they hate conflict so there you go.  By calling this a gift and allowing him to do whatever he choses with it is merely them taking the easy way out.  My sister has not  had to earn a dime in the past 25 years.  Perhaps she does not realize how things like a new car should be EARNED not given... she does not know the value of a dollar.  Okay, I better stop.

I don't think it's necessary to treat people this way.  So why don't you take your keyboard and stick it somewhere for safekeeping until you feel a little nicer.

That is the problem I've been having lately being an MT.  Companies want to pay us on production and they set minimum productivity standards, but want us timed in for 8 hours a day.  My thinking is, if they want 8 hours of work out of me, pay me hourly with production incentive.  If they want to pay me on production and tell how much I have to produce in an 8 hour period, then when I hit that mark, I should be able to call it a day even if I've only worked 4 hours.

Seems these companies want it both ways and it is simply not fair to us MTs.  JMO, tho.
