The bonuses are tied to taking on extra work on top of your regular workload, not production or longevity. It's per extra shift or per extra report on backlogged accounts. Call and talk to them if you have any questions.
I would just supply one digital copy, either send the work back
via an FTP site or email attachment or whatever, or keep addending to a CD, but let them keep their own archives. And why can't they print when you deliver the CD or the work in digital format? I don't do any printing at all. Everything goes back digital and they keep their own copies. Once I bill for the month, everything gets deleted, as it should be under HIPAA.

I did 3 summer interns for the dept of correction and one summer I had to enter all the data for actually the state employees and run n.c.i.c. checks on them and all the alias names they gave. I was very surprised to find out that if an employee for the dept of correction had been convicted of a felony it was no big deal as long as they stated it on their application. I know that's discrimination but I would have thought that considering the department it was that it would have been a big no-no. that was back in the day that I assumed that law enforcement should live by higher moral standards than the everyday people

I've had to do editing of offshored work at two different places now and you see the same mistakes over and over and over. I have started to think that (a) if companies ever get rid of their US QA people they will quickly lose accounts to the non-offshoring companies and/or (b) they will get sick of paying people to edit all the time and stop the offshoring.
One can always hope.
And no, I'm not quitting my job either. I agree with it in principle, and I feel bad sometimes for not doing it "on principle" but the reality of my getting a good paycheck prevails. Alas, my children must have their school supplies and shoes.
I'll send out letters
I write letters all the time to different government bodies, politicians, school districts, you name it and I'll write. I think this is a wonderful idea. My letters and/or phone calls always get public attention in my area - I have even put in for a presidential pardon for a relative who is in the federal prison system. I've exposed a principal who was abusing special ed kids, problems with taxation in Texas, and many other issues. My motto is - if things aren't being done properly, you can always write a letter. My pen is poised over pad and paper......

Tell your DH to not just present you with a problem in order to heap one more thing on your shoulders, but to come up with a solution for it! I am sick & tired of us being expected to roll up 3-4 jobs into one. Being a mother itself is a full-time job, taking care of & managing your home and/or marriage * activities of daily living is another, and we have to help bring in the income too! because of offshoring and because of other replacements for MT (VR and EMR), pay is going down. Face it. There are cheaper alternatives for US MTs. The quality is not as good, but it is good enough. Yea, yea, yea "lawsuits, bla, bla, bla." Nice theory but ain't happening.

I thought I quit for good, too. I quit for 2 years. Then, due to circumstances, was forced to look for part-time work, decided MT would pay the best of any PT job out there.
Man, was I rusty!!! I'm not kidding!! It was like not knowing what I knew I knew! Had to double check everything! My skills did come back quickly - within a few weeks I was rolling again, but those first few weeks and testing were miserable.
I wished I had at least kept a very small account to keep my skills up.
But, at the time, I was FED up with the biz and would never look back! LOL!
Anyway, I'm very happy for you and wish you all the luck in the world! You probably for weeks/months will always have that feeling where you need to 'go type some charts.' LOL! :)

I think that was 2005 edition - using 2004 which I found at the time (2004-2005) not to have a lot of the drugs and actually Google and the many, many drug sites were more helpful. Agree with Wise below.

When they announced they were giving out these debit cards I knew immediately that it would be misused by people. There's nothing to stop them from taking the cards, putting them into an ATM and getting cash, which some people will then buy illegal drugs and alcohol with.
I don't mind handing out money who can prove they had a place to live prior to the disaster but I do have a problem with handing out wads of cash to the people that were homeless and not trying to seek employment before the storm - those folks have basically hit the social lottery as they've now been given free transportation, meals, shelter and tons of other stuff just because they were there.
One of my relatives who was in Hurricaine Andrew saw this same type of abuse going on in Miami after that storm. He saw people walking around with the wads of cash the federal government gave them and blowing it on either stupid purchases or on partying, then turn around and file for a loan that they didn't intend to pay back to continue misusing the money.

I believe. I think you need that schedule (vs. the CEZ) in order to write all that off. The computer would be line 13 and you can take a section 179 deduction for the entire amount, for which you need form 4562 (lines 7-12 and 24a-29). It is not difficult to do. For your state taxes generally (presume every state is different though), you take line 36 off your 1040 (if you are using a 1040) and that amount will contain your reported income from the sch. C (which has your write-offs) - Good luck !

hard copies of supposedly MY reports with errors. I would instantly know it wasn't my work, and would look at the MT ID # at the bottom of the report - NOPE, not mine. Naturally they were sending me the worst MT's reports, too, but I was fairly certain it was the person mailing them that was making the errors because my QA scores were very good.

they offshore to other countries from the usa because what's important to most dictators, and again unfortunately, is the cheapest price they will get for transcription......now, I didn't say they would receive good quality MT work back - but they will only be paying 3, 4 or 5 cpl for that offshore work.....so they have chosen to COMPROMISE QUALITY!!!! Blechhhhhhhhhhhh!!!

If that is the case, then make sure you save all the sent emails (I save it all) and then all you have to do is bring up her email address, select all the appropriate emails that were all ready sent, hit forward for all of them and enter in her email. Should take you less than 5 minutes to do all this and be relatively painless. --- if this does not work, yes, go for the billing route, she should be saving the work or at least keeping a backup copy of it for a min. of 3 months. I could see a file now and then but not all the time as she is doing. Very disorganized. Good luck.
Most Dictaphone stuff is proprietary and won't work with other systems.

Yes, they can quit their job, go self-employed or IC, and work under the table.
However, the courts aren't stupid. There is a worksheet the judge does based on the past several years' worth of taxes that XX is the amount this person is capable of making, so therefore XIX is their child support amount. It's legal and binding. There's no changing it by trying to scam the system. It is difficult to enforce but that's why our state has deadbeat parent laws. My friend's ex wound up in jail with liens against all of his property for not paying his child support.
