They are most likely not disabling it because of confidentiality. They just do not want the MTs surfing while they are supposed to be working. If it bothers you, you might want to find a different job. I doubt they will make any changes, but you could question it and see what happens.

actually not that uncommon any more
Not great but could be a lot worse too.
This is not at all uncommon sm
I know you don't want to hear this...but. Many hospitals seem to allow the ER doctors to read the x-ray initially, and then the films are turned over to an actual radiologist for the "final" reading. Often the radiologist who is trained to read an x-ray (well yeah duh) finds what was missed. This seems to be "standard of care" a lot of places and it should not be.
As you well know, a second fall/injury of any broken bone can further displace the fracture, comminute the fracture or lead to a second fracture, all of which make reduction of the fracture more difficult. In an elderly frail patient, worsening of a fracture as above can lead to more complications.
Hip fractures are something that scares me. A "simple" fracture can often be pinned with a TFN procedure, but the more complex ones need unipolar or bipolar hip replacements. What a shame to neglect someone who falls again and has to have a more complicated surgery to fix the problem! IT IS JUST WRONG.
Let us know how she is doing, please.
Potato? maybe not so uncommon . . .
I did a report about removing a potato, wasn't baked, wasn't wrapped in foil, wasn't removed from the rectum either, just raw, and they had to remove it from a lady, who evidently forgot about it, she went because it started smelling so bad, and it was sprouting.
I took it more as a flag because it's uncommon in dictation..
not that there was a debate of whether to transcribe it or not. I personally haven't ever had a dictator mention praying with the patient, although, I have had one of my personal physicians mention that he hadnt seen me in church lately :D
Sorry, that is not uncommon at this time of year. Post SM
office employees get greedy.
