house about 30+ miles away in about 20-30 minutes on the weekend. If my husband leaves by 6, he's good. Anytime after, he hits traffic bad. Coming home is an hour though. We lived in the NW anyways, but decided to move further out when buying our first home because of the area we lived in. We used to live about 5 miles from his work, so that was a big adjustment. Everything was in the NW though, as far as our doctors, etc. It was either the Woodlands for me or NW Houston. I preferred the Woodlands, but I didn't want to move so far away from everything we got used to and I most of all did not want my kids in Conroe district, which some of the Woodlands is in. So....we picked NW! I love it out here though. Not too close and not too far. I like Lake Houston area too. We camp there sometimes.
BTW, what is the lake looking like now? We camped not too long after the hurricane and the lake was extremely low. We couldn't swim at our camp site and we had to search for an hour to find a place to launch the jet ski. They said it could take years to fill back up. Just curious because we are looking to go again and would like to swim while we are there.
