Your first post was 100% doom and gloom every which way, including "raining on your parade", and "if you want to go forward"...God, sounds like she's talking about jumping into oncoming traffic! How can the word "NEVER" in caps be interpreted in any positive way? You took about 8 paragraphs to cover every aspect and completely dash this poor woman's dream.  I'm not blind, I'm not talking about day care at all, I'm talking about the total negativity of your original post! You know exactly what I'm talking about, cause you added some sugar to your second version! And that's much nicer than the first!

There was a site about 8 months or so ago that we would go to and we were able to download the Meditech program for free.  Once you have the meditech, you need your own clients numbers to access the modem, but the program itself was not a security issue.  I was just wondering if anyone knew of another site with the download.

I had something like that too awhile ago.  Because of this "thing," I had a hard time staying on any website, let alone trying to download Malwarebytes.  But I kept trying and finally, the next day, I was able to get it downloaded and ran.  It took the problem away and saved me a huge headache.  This "thing" was something like Spyware 2008, I just can't remember exactly.  I just know it said something about spyware and everytime I tried to go to a site, it would pop up and I couldn't do anything at all.  Somehow, though, I managed to bring up Malwarebytes and inbetween closing the spyware thing and its popping up again, I got Malwarebytes loaded.  I also have McAffe, AdAware and Spybot but they didn't stop this thing. 

One thing you need to do, if you don't already, is update your antispyware and adware protection.  Do it at least once a week because new bugs are coming out constantly.  I even run an update on McAffee even though I think it's supposed to do it automatically, just to be safe.

Right now I have some stupid "MywayWebSearch" or something like that and I cannot get rid of no matter what I do.  Besides the 3 listed above, I even ran SuperAntispyware and Spyware Blaster and still can't get rid of it! I think I have managed to quarantine it though, cuz it doesn't seem to be causing the havoc anymore.  These are all Free, by the way, and they do keep my computer pretty clean for the most part.  I run scans every couple of days, and do the other maintenance stuff. 

Good luck to you and give these things a try before you spend money.  If they don't work, nothing lost, if they do.... money saved!

Of all the expanders I've tried, it's been the easiest to learn and use.  Good graphic user interface, too.  Lots of features.  Read the help file and manual because there are a lot of neat features I didn't even know about until I read about them.

Then it's $99.95 to purchase it at the end of the free trial, but it pays for itself and is really easy to use.  That'll give you a month to save up the money for it.  My stats vary on it anywhere from 26% to 67% depending on my dictator.

I haven't tried it yet, but it's got good reviews and a 10-use trial.

I have been an IC for 16 years now but was married before and so had my husband overwithold.   Then the last couple of years held a part-time in-house position and so overpaid that way.  But this year will probably keep an eye on things and see what my taxes will be after about June and if it is bad, will make a payment then.  I will have a lot of deductions this coming year - 2007 - so that will help.  When I do my 2006 taxes I will just see what I owe and go from there.  If it is easier to send in $400 four times a year instead of April 15th, will do that.  I have never had to pay that much in penalities when I did not do quarterlies that it bothered me.  

Last August, I was dropped from employee status to IC.  I don't know of anyone else in my area that works from home as I do so I have a question for any of you that are IC's.  When you file taxes you get a 1099 form from the work site, do you keep out money in a separate account for your taxes the following year or do you pay in throughout the year? 

So in August of 2005, you went to IC status. You will owe income taxes including self employment taxes on everything from August on. By April 15, your tax man will have figured out what you need to pay. By April 15, this year you need to either start a) filing quarterly or b) increasing husband's withholding so that all your taxes paid for 2006 are equal to or greater than what you owed in 2005. For example, say in 2005, you made $10,000 as an IC and say you owed $2500 in taxes. Your husband made $40,000 and owed $8000 in taxes. In 2006, you would need to have $10500 withheld from his checks or a combination of his checks and your quarterly filings. And don't go into you pay more taxes as an IC than an employee. We've had that discussion up and down these boards these past two weeks. Don't even go there.
