No savings gets passed down to the ultimate client, the patient. It is the ideology that typing fast is the same thing as medical transcription skill, with the person brokering it making the money. I hear more and more people that review records tell me how horrifying sloppy they've become with all the offshoring. I'm not surprised. There is no shortage of American MTs, only a shortage of American MTs who won't lower their standards or work for nothing. It's my belief that most of these companies are trying to run out the American MT.
