Dorlands
I got Dorland's spellchecker about a year or so ago when I bought the new 30th edition of the dictionary. I feel it is comperable to Steadmans. The hard back dictionary and the CD spellchecker together cost only $50. Even if you don't need the dictionary, there aren't many spellcheckers out there for that price. Check their website to see if they are still offering this, though. Like I said, this was about a year ago.
I use the online Dorlands. sm
I agree- DORLANDS ALL THE WAY
Dorlands is far better than Stedman's, at least for radiology, its amazing. I too purchased the dictionary (30th edition) and the CD spell checker came free. (50.00!) Have never had to open the dictionary - the spell checker is that good - plus you can use Dorland's.com for free - and if you go to that site, (as a registered member, you can now download an additional free spell checker.
For my laptop I purchased the FULL Dorlands dictionary on CD Rom. That's nice. but not necessary.
AMEN! Dorlands is THE book! nm

Always Dorlands' first and foremost. Stedmans is a poor second.

I use secure online reference sites for everything else.
To me, Dorlands will always be the gold standard. I have one, and use their online source also. nm
