I made a little foam heel rest so I can have my shoes off
otherwise, can't feel the peddle.
That made absolutely no sense..i rest my case..dumb MTs!

Yes-- I have an Adesso with a built-in touch pad
It works very well for me-- you don't have to move your hand that far to use it. It is strange at first, but once you get used to it, you will love it.
All I can say is rest when you need it and - sm
listen to the docs. I, personally, have not had cancer but after dealing with my 5-y/o Wilm's tumor (kidney cancer) this year, our family has been but through the wringer. Jen handled her chemo great, lost her hair with 2 treatments to go (had 14). Kids are great about that though, got a little self-conscious but after a few minutes in a new place would forget she had no hair. I got her a couple hats for the sun and for her to feel better too. Painted her head one day, had fun with it. She had good days and bad of course, but for the most part handled it all very well. Just had a clean ultrasound and chest x-ray today, yeah! She looks like a little boy now, with dirty blond hair (was an incredible shade of red before), with now the roots growing a new color, a strawberry blond/red, really pretty. So if you do lose your hair it may grow in different (probably will). Jen's was very fine before, now it is a lot thicker, still straight as a board though as it was. You may lose some weight too, but after chemo is done you will regain it once you get your appetite back. Best wishes to you and feel free to email !
Just take out 1/3 of the mix so far and add only 2/3 of rest

If she's like the rest of us MTs out there...
She's doing an excellent job and just wishes the docs would WAKE UP and start doing the same. Docs ARE incompetent for the most part, and that's sad. But you go ahead and think they walk on water, honey. When they amputate the wrong leg during your operation, you'll be the first to scream, LAWSUIT!!!!
How is this different from the rest of us?
I haven't said this before, but I've been thinking it. So the suits only think about the bottom line and the doctors don't care whose jobs go overseas as long as it isn't theirs. How are we any different? How many of us cared that textile/garment workers jobs went overseas? Until the lead paint scare, how many of us cared that toy making jobs were going overseas? Do we stop buying the latest electronic gadgets, not to mention computers, because they are virtually all made overseas now? For the most part, we didn't worry about those jobs, so why would anyone care about ours? Wal-Mart, K-Mart and the other low-price retailers push their suppliers for ever cheaper products, and plants overseas are the best suppliers. Have we stopped shopping there, or is price all we care about, too?
about themselves? Help the rest of us
I think it is wonderful that you are making so much money. Why don't you help the rest of out and share your secretes? Please...I need all the help I can get at 7 cpl.
The rest of the world
Thinks Americans are suckers. We help everybody, give money away to everybody, and then they all turn on us. I'm beginning to think they are right-- we ARE suckers! Maybe it's time to tell the rest of the world to take care of their OWN people and problems for a change.
Why? Except for the rent all the rest is the same everywhere.

I rest my case.

But then how will you be different from the rest of the kids?

foot rest
So do you put both feet and the pedal on the foot rest?
Foot rest
I also would like to know if anyone has an idea for a foot rest. I also have swollen feet at the end of the day. I looked at my daughter-in-law's foot stool for breast feeding and thought it might work since it is slanted. Off to Google this and see what I can find.
foot rest - sm
I found mine by Googling foot rest. You'll find lots of them, all shapes, sizes, and prices. I think mine came from Fellows, but cannot remember now. I love it. No more backache. Good luck with your search.
rest in peace!!!!
nm
Don't know what it is. :( Can you rest them on a heating pad in your lap before and while
s
I agree with the rest
Run, do not walk, away from this account. One day you won't be paid at all. I would rather not get paid for not working than not get paid because somebody kept the money that I had worked for.
When typing, do you rest your --sm
wrists on the keyboard tray or hold them up in the air? Am having arm pain and have tried both ways but do not notice any difference.
Get some well-deserved rest (sm)
you are NOT a machine! Take some time and rest up, especially if you aren't feeling well. No one should have to endure that in this profession. Helping out is one thing, being taken advantage of is another. Get Well Soon!
Would you give it a rest already?
The "compliment" (not complement) was meant for the person who correctly identified this as a pyramid scheme..
And would you give the "His hand was with me" hoo ha a rest? There are plenty who fall for this type of manipulation but I hope that none of them are on this board...
please go troll elsewhere.
OP could do like the rest of us----- research,
x
OH PLEASE give this a rest!!!
I VOTED FOR CLINTON TWICE so I'm not a hater per se. That said, AFTER the fact I started educating myself about the facts with regard to U.S. POLITICS. Its enough to m ake you RETCH.
BILL CLINTON had plenty of SUPPORT for NAFTA, and WE ALL GOT THE SHAFTA!
Before you start saying Democrats are better than Republicans about this or that issue - do some research: THEY ARE THE SAME party!
THE WEDGE ISSUES ARE THERE JUST TO KEEP YOU DISTRACTED!
BOTH PARTIES ARE CORRUPT TO THE GILLS - why are AMERICANS SO AWARE OF THIS yet also so willing to keep supporting only these 'two' parties!
I just don't get it. If you know you are being scammed, why do you keep buying their lies?
can't speak for the rest of them
I know one MTSO who was going to put on an ad and has backed off with what has been going on with the ownership of the board. I think it's just like the number of postings being down - people are on here but are hesitating because they're not sure if everything is okay. I think if you give it a little more time you'll see more and more ads come back on as people relax about the board again.
SHE'S SUPERWOMAN! WHILE THE REST OF US...SM
just have to roll with the punches, which somehow have eluded her.
Are you able to rest your arms?
Maybe arm rests? They helped me for a while until I started getting carpal tunnel symptoms from not having my hands properly positioned (due to resting my elbows on my arm rests). Needless to say, got rid of the arm rests and after a while, the pain just went away (both in wrists/hands and shoulders/back). However, I do have quite severe knots if you ever feel my shoulders :)
Just take what you want and leave the rest! :D nm
.......
give it a rest already, she already had 2 other jobs

Size of foot rest - sm
I got a large one - 17 x 20 - because I have two foot pedals to use (different platforms) and they both fit on it side by side. I can adjust it to slope up from the floor in front to about 3-4 inches (or more if I want) upwards. The top of the foot rest has a rubberized mat to keep the foot pedals in place, and the base of the foot rest is heavy to it doesn't move. The brand is Fellows, and I paid about $49.00 for it...and I think well worth it so far. If you Google foot rests, and look on Shopzilla, you'll find lots of them - different sizes and prices and styles. Hope this helps.
fortunately for the rest of us who dO want to discuss this,
ROFLMAO - I rest my case LOL
I agree with the rest, not worth...sm
the money or your time. I let my certification run out after 15 years and am no longer a member, mainly due to their support of offshore transcriptionists.
Share it with the rest of the class!
may Patsy rest in peace
Thank you for speaking up. I could never understand why everyone wanted to condemn that poor woman. Seems to me that all the people who wanted to condemn her are the sickos.
Well, my thoughts are right in lines with the rest of you, and also,
something needs to be done about the way the local chapters are run. The same people are constantly voted in by a few select MTs to keep things the way they want them. New MTs coming into the chapter have no input at all. The AAMT needs to govern those locals a little more closely.
I'd count it too via 65-char just as you are doing the rest - sm
especially since you print it out, ink costs money, as does paper.
Fine.. just getting older like the rest of us...nm
.
#2 is about the average income for an MT/QA, I would say. The rest...
are just pipe dreams where your chained to your computer or you have your own dream accounts.
I think it depends on the rest of the sentence..sm
You should already have your application filled out before the interview.
You should have already filled out your application before the interview.
To Tired: Get some rest! I knew there had to
be at least one person who would blow this out of proportion! I do not think I am *better than doctor* as you say. Just wanted to see what others did in this situation. I already know to correct their *grammer" as you incorrectly spell this word. At least the rest of the comments weren't so unnecessarily condescending.
Fred - God rest his soul
he gave a lot of us this wonderful opportunity....I don't recall the bugs in the money tree though 8-)
How nice is this keyboard? Nice light touch?
I have a regular Microsoft ergonomic one now but I'm thinking I should probably get a replacement and use mine as a backup.
Well, we can all rest now that Sandy will take care of MT education!
Ya see, Sandra -- She isn't out of touch if she's an MT. She's already working!! ROFL Despite your ominous warnings!!!
However - Please do post a copy of your diploma or certificate of Proper Education for all to see.
We now have a new authority, everyone! Sandra! Sandra will decide if you have had the proper education to be an MT.
I guess the rest of us are just lowly peon MTs who aren't really getting paid and who aren't really working because we never completed Sandy-Dandy's MT School of Proper Education!
Now THAT is hoot!!
We appreciate the laugh, Miss Sandra. Don't want to keep you from your educatin' us MTs in the proper format!
Sounds as preachy and obstinant as some others we've seen on here. Hmmmm.
Call, please. The rest of us are dying to find out something. nm

Uh-oh! The cards are telling me to take the rest of the week off. See ya! nm

Ah, sorry. I was thinking FlashForward (rest its soul). nm

SmartGlove, Cat's Paw, rest, exercise, expander sm
I've been diagnosed with bilateral CTS. I had laparoscopic surgery on the right one, and would recommend that you either never get surgery, or if you do, don't go the laparoscopic route. I learned later that the open is better.
Ok, after a few years away from MT, I came back and invested in the Smart Glove. I don't wear them all the time, but I put them on with my wrists start bothering me. The relief is instantaneous.
Another thing that's great is called a Cat's Paw. It's inexpensive and does wonders. Before surgery, I found that physical therapy was hugely helpful. Unfortunately, insurance companies won't pay for unlimited physical therapy. The Cat's Paw mimics several of the exercises I did in PT.
I take rest breaks every 1 to 1-1/4 hour. A break is at least 5 minutes. A good exercise for the break is to go to a table or other surface that is about hip height, put your palm down on it and really feel that pull. You want to lean into it. Do it for a few seconds and switch hands.
I used to have an ergo keyboard, but don't anymore.
I've also made it a priority to work SMARTER not harder. One way to do this is make learning about productivity your hobby. I have ShortHand as my expander, have read the manual, know how to do a lot of the extras that many MTs either don't know or don't learn til they've been doing this a while. I've also studied what I could find on the web on MT sites about productivity. There are lots of tips and hints. I'm not working so hard these days and usually save at least 45% of my Keystrokes through Shorthand. That's like transcribing 500 lines a day and getting paid for 1000!
Hope this helps! ;)
GIVE IT A REST: Liberals work every
stop with the moronic stereotypes!
The only ones LIVING OFF THE TAX-PAYERS are the pariah's in Congress and in the GRAYHOUSE.
Spend a little more time doing your homework and a little less listening the babysitters on the right: LIMBAUGH, hannity, et AL ad nauseam
I keep a heating pad on my lap and rest my hands on it when I'm in between reports
and it's been working great!
No, the 2000 is the small one without the palm rest.
When I saw the 4000 and the 6000, they were bigger and I think they were cordless. This one is small, has a cord, and is very inexpensive; something like $15 I think he said!
I do better without a wrist rest also.
