Some neighbors are child molestors, some neighbors are drug dealers and
those so-called normal people next door are being arrested for drugs and molestation, and other crimes. This ideology of people thinking that low-life scum only living in trailer parks and the like probably have an everyday-average-looking person right next door that they should probably pay more attention to. Won't THEY be surprised when Mr. Smith who waves at them and visits over the fence with them now and again is one of these perpetrators. Think about it people. It has happened and will happen. And it doesn't ONLY HAPPEN to people in trailer parks. JMO.
I worked for Signal as well and Signal and MDI-MD
worked for. I believe that's because of the owner.
let's do it, pick a day, nobody works, pick a busy day
nm
try this if you have no signal.....sm
Open Explorer, type in address box your IPS access number, click go, then click on Wizard setup and follow instructions.
Well that won't happen. I was with Signal.
a public message board bashing the owner. In fact, I posted a post on the company board (which was deleted because I mentioned her name) in support of the owner, the gist of which you copied in your big-printed message above. You just said exactly what I said in my post on the company board. LOL.
You know, if you have a problem with her email - tell HER. Don't come to a public message board anonymously and bash her. And don't say all that crap and then say how much you love the company and how she's a good businesswoman and then copy what I said in my post on the other board.
It depends on how far you are away from the signal.
The signal is only capable of certain distances. If you have plumbing pipes between where your router is and where you are trying to use the laptop that could lessen the signal. I don't know all the whys and hows, but have been networking with a bunch of guys who are computer gurus and they tell me that the water/plumbing deflects the signal. You can get antenna that are stronger that replace your current antenna. They aren't very expensive and you can get them at just about any computer store.
You also might actually be getting the signal on the laptop but you may have a conflict and not be able to see it. I met a man who had just bought a laptop that was WiFi compatible but he couldn't get it to work. I can't remember what steps I went through now, but he was connecting, he just had his internet setup so there was a conflict in being able to receive and see that he was connected.
Go to control panel and then click on network and internet connections and you should be able to see there if your laptop is talking with the router and if it is then you need to play around with your ISP settings
The signal cannot be picked up on wireless if you
even if you DON'T, they can only pick up and use your SIGNAL for access - not YOUR actual online activity. How this fallacy began is beyond me. If your activity could be monitored just because you use wireless then satellite internet would not exist and Linksys would be out of business. Many MAJOR corporations, banks and government entities use satellite internet on laptops for salesmen, traveling employees and others who work out of the office in the USA and overseas. Do you think they would risk it if there were an actual problem? Your Keystrokes are more likely be picked up by spyware, adware, viruses and worms which are prevalent on ALL internet connections. If any MTSO had a problem in the past it is because their own site was not properly secure - it had nothing to do with the type of internet connection. The MTSOs are denying employment to a lot of good MTs just because they live where DSL and cable are not available. All based on what is, in my book, an OLD WIVE'S TALE.
Yeah - that would mean you don't get good signal out there. sm
But you might inquire about the future plans for that area. Verizon progresses pretty fast.
Fast busy signal
When trying to dial into the Lanier System, I continuously get a fast busy signal. On Friday I had problems (dialing in and getting the dictator mode) and today all I get is a fast busy signal. Any ideas??
I have wireless too and at first did not get a good signal, sm
What my wireless tech told me was to get a telescoping pole from the hardware store like a pole for an antennae. It was 30 feet tall when extended. So he installed my wireless antennae on this pole and now my signal is awesome. So for those of you not getting luck with wireless signals due to trees, hills, etc. get you a pole.
Think of WiFi as a cell phone signal.
Have you ever had a call dropped, or the signal go from 5 bars to 1? WiFi speed depends on the amount of traffic, weather, interference from construction, etc. I think it is always wise to have some form of backup available just in case. I have Earthlink cable, but I also get 20 hours of dial-up with that. I have a laptop, so if my power goes out at least I can download and continue to work with a dial-up connection.
If you don't get your wireless through cell phone signal,
I haven't heard of any other way to get wireless broadband other than through the cell phone companies.
Well, she could be like my neighbors.
She lets her kids play outside, screaming and running around, until 2:00 or 3:00 in the morning because they sleep until noon then watch TV until dinner's over. Better the kids should be tired and stick to their regular bedtime than be obnoxious little brats running the household with NO parenting or organized activities.
Hello neighbors
I'm from Georgetown - just found this board. Who do you work for?
My neighbors do that. They have
3 dogs in their yard. Dogs stay out all night and barking is never ending. One is a hound dog (who never stops howling) rest are bull dogs and pit bull mix. The fleas in the summer are never ending. They bring their dogs across the street to play in the field daily w/o leashes. They had 4 dogs but last month one dog ran across the street, got hit by a car and died. They blamed the driver of the car and said since she was elderly, they wanted her to get retested for her license since she could have stopped in time. Had nothing to do with the dog being unrestrained or running out in front of the car. I've taken to calling animal control now every time I see them in the field unleashed because they charge anything and everything that is not their owners. They usually take them there to play right when school lets out so it could be a danger to them. Luckily for us we have leash laws here in our city.
File a complaint! Just in case something happens again there is proof that it is a dangerous animal.
I don't, but my neighbors do and all it does is bark
yap, yap, yap, yap all day long. Enough to drive anyone nuts. My kids have nicknamed him "Yappy." A woman I work for also has one and hers yaps all day long too.
So if you don't mind the constant yapping, go for it They're still awful cute even with their little jaw flapping. :)
where are you located? We might be neighbors!
I live in the Chicago suburbs and a company down the street is owned by a man, and they have a VA account they are hiring for. Just curious if this is for BOS?
Sheesh! We must be neighbors.

How would the city or your neighbors know
you supposedly ran a business out of your home. Do you have employees, a parking lot at your home to have the employees park there, overhead including insurance to cover disability in case 1 of the employees has an accident on the job. First of all, no neighbor of mine knows I have a business (if you want to call it that, I don't) but secondly if someone from the city came by asking questions the answer would be I don't know. In fact I had the city to come by 1 time to inquire about work I had done inside my house, told me they needed to come in and I said no to them. Never heard another word about that. I do not know what kind of work the person on the right or left does, oh I do know 1 lady said she works for IRS and that is that. She might have a zoo in her home for all I know. I would never think about putting myself on the line to say I need license. Bunch of crock.
YOU try having them for neighbors. You might change your tune. nm

Exactly! It's just inconsiderate to your neighbors and unfair to do something like that!
People think they're being funny or cute but making your house look like a piece of crap is rude to the neighbors and DOES make their homes worth less than they should be. I agree that they should be forced by law to change it back.
What about your neighbors who work at Walmart?
But I know one thing. I'm shopping for a portable dishwasher. Walmart has undercut Lowes and Home Depot by $100. I'm buying from Walmart. I don't have spare $100 to boycott Walmart. Do you?
The neighbors are having garlic. Just walked
x
Just gave the neighbors a show
While walking the dog I did my best Jessica Rabbit walk sans the high heels. I noticed the dog walks the same way. Wonder if the neighbors saw me. I'm sure one of them will let me know if they did!
If you have neighbors, trying petitioning the company.
They're going to be more willing to listen when they know more than one home is interested in the service.
I talked with the police about this issue when one of my neighbors
kept trying to befriend my boys. The cop said that 90% of sex offenders are not in the database anyway because they have never been arrested. Those databases create a false sense of security because you think you're safe if nobody is listed in your neighborhood, but you still do not know if someone has the tendency or unreported history of sexual abuse. You have to treat everyone as a suspected child sex offender. They could have been doing it for years but nobody reported it. They could have had a plea bargain and charges reduced or dropped. They could have just never been arrested. We had a recent incident where a guy was driving past the elementary schools and kept trying to grab 11- to 12-year-old boys and force them into his car. The whole city was in an uproar because the police couldn't catch the guy, but he tried three times at three different schools. We suspect he's either moved on to another community or went back into hiding.
I would get off during a lightening storm. My neighbors equipment got fried. sm
my TV volume got fried during a storm. My company has told all of us that if we fry our computers during a storm, we have to replace them. I can't afford that. I wouldn't risk it.
Yep, I agree 100%. I live in such a rural area, though, that my neighbors, the natives, think I'm
NUTS cause I keep my dogs in the house, and actually still walk them on a leash in my yard. We all have about 2 - 5 acres minimum each of woods in our neighborhood, and no real dog laws at all! Dogs run at large 24/7, which is no picnic for me with my dogs on leash, either! And they ALL keep them outdoors, tied up with the chain and the smelly old dog house. I think they just look at dogs strictly as deterents? Not sure really, come to think of it! Cause even if they were getting robbed, Fido couldn't get off the 6 foot chain! Oh well! I used to be sad all the time for the plot of the dogs here, but I can't save them all! Only my guys!
Oh yeah, after 26 yrs, I have tinnitus and the T.V. blares so loud the neighbors comment about it.
Eh???
Oh yes! Cops love it when the neighbors interfere, stand around, gawk. Makes their job
Stay inside. Ask later, if you must.
My Pick
Sade's "By Your Side".
Its a very unique sounding and lovely song.
Pick up
LOL! Good for you!
Thank you so much! I will pick up one of these. nm
.
Which would you pick?
Forty-five minutes was or were spent with the patient.
The patient is a 46-year-old patient of Dr. Smith or Smith's with stage IV breast carcinoma
Unless you have a job where you can pick
and choose, I would never presume to ask to be off an account or a particular doctor because I can't understand him. I personally have a doctor that when I see his name I cringe, because I absolutely have a horrific time with. He is just one of the hundreds of doctors at this facility though. I just do the best I can and the more I have him, the easier (although slow) he is getting. That is all part of the job in my opinion, you take the good with the bad.
How can you cherry pick on MQ DQS?
How do you get info on whether hospital complains or not about cherry picking? How do you figure an office is closed because of cherry picking. My office is far away from where I live. My managers are just names. I don't know them. They live in other parts of the country also, far away from the home office. I know nothing about who is doing what nor correspondence from the hospital to the manager or why MQ closes offices (I was told this is an economical measure since most managers are working out of their homes as well.) How do you come across all of your information regarding the inner workings of MQ and who is cherry picking and how?
you can't cherry pick....
Well you see, you stated right in your post that you can't possibly cherry pick...so what do you know about what is going on with the rest of us out here who DO have to deal with cherry pickers.
Don't know what you make per line but getting about 666 lines per hour is quite astounding. I'm sure you must be quite happy where you are and with no cherry pickers! Good for you. I've been an acute care MT for over 30 years and am rated as one of the best as far as QA and quantity and have NEVER, EVER in my life been able to come close to your line count. Maybe you are from another planet and have powers beyond us or maybe you have some special secret you could share. Or maybe, we should just ignore your statement of getting that kind of line count, especially when you are not dealing with cherry pickers.
Pick Transcend
You'll like it. Great company. Great platform designed for us specifically. Pay is good, always on time. No problems. I love it!
Yes, I do cherry pick...
but very infrequently and only if I think somebody else would do a better job of transcribing a particular dictator - all of us on my account do it to a minimal extent and no one is bothered by it - sometimes U feel like a nut, sometimes U don't...
dropping everything you pick up...
and my favorite, the old juggling act: and now folks for my next trick, I will type for 15 minutes, answer the phone, fold a load of laundry, run to the bathroom, do up a coupla dishes on the way back, sit back down to type another 15 minutes, only to be interrupted as you just get going again...
gotta love it!
Oh, no way, after this I'm done for this year. It's a lot to go and pick and buy for
Christmas Angels, pack and ship, shooey, I'm POOPED!
Sometimes I wish I could cherry pick
I work with a program that will not allow you to cherry pick. If you try to dump the job, it comes right back to you.
It's a good thing though. I have learned a lot of foreign accents and have put up with mumblers, pausers, stutterers and horrid background noises, but I can do it all.
When the companies the cherry pickers work for downsize or go to VR (voice recognition) the good MTs will be working and the cherry pickers will be saying, "Do you want fries with that?
me too.. nit pick it so that it is hiliarious
Seems its a no-win situation with my QA...and I think they know I have 30+ yrs experience, so they are out to prove "something or anything" on my reports. It's absolutely ridiculous. And you call them on it, then you get "the account wants it that way"... oh boy!
It's my birthday, DH says I get to pick where I want to eat.
Ohhhh, the possibilities!!!
Hands down, if I had to pick one, my best
resource for medical terms is The Surgical Word Book. Boy that book is awesome. For meds, Quick Look Drug Book is The One! Online, the only site I really frequent is Dr. 411. Now, most of my coworkers are going to know who I am, as I am always singing the praises of these!! Oh well. It won't be any surprise to them how miserable I am at work - we all are.
Poll: If you could only pick one.....
If you could only pick one each of a medical book and an online reference, which would you choose? Mine would be Stedman's Medical Dictionary for the book and onelook.com for my online reference.
I get one check DD. The other I have to pick up. sm
If that's not bad enough (even though the office is only 1 mile away), I have to drive another mile to my bank and they don't even have a drive thru teller. They're located on the main street in town so I have to find a parking place. Then I have to get out of the car. Then I have to walk to the bank. Then I have to walk inside and stand in line.
With my other employer I get up in the morning on pay day, log on to my online banking and there it is!
BUT. . . .there is nobody there to say hello and call me by my fist name and ask me how the kids are doing and whether or not I was having a good week, etc., which is nice even though I do have to change out of my jammies on pay day.
I was on my way to pick up tapes. nm
nm
ppl but in it more for money. Pick one or the other.
s
Huh? I don't pick and choose and I certainly...
am not putting myself up on a pedestal. I don't think a little pride in one's work is too much to ask.
And yes, right now I do have job security, but these horrible American MTs keep giving MTSOs directly and hospitals/physicians indirectly an excuse for offshoring because they can simply use the argument that it doesn't make much difference regarding quality. So how much job security can I have and for how much longer?
I need to pick brains
from anyone who uses Express Scribe. I am trying to find ways to maneuver around in Express Scribe more efficiently, such as learning where how to set the back up for one or two words, etc. TIA
