If it is your company policy, then you have

It seems like you have to ask the company what their policy is (nm)

Not if you have a company policy
Each company has their own policy for how they handle it.
I only worked for one company that deducted and that was YOG. There is no industry standard, at least that I am aware of. I'm going on 6 years at my current company and have never had a deduct.
That depends on the company's policy.
Each company defines it's own policy. Most all do pay it out but since offering paid time off is not mandatory by any federal or state government, there is no mandate that a company HAS to pay out any accrued but unused paid time off.
Your Human Resources or Benefits Department will be able to direct you to the policies that govern this for your employer.

There is policy about this.
Please write the Administrator about this (admin@mtstars.com).

I think the policy is
as long as they have an American office (storefront) they are still considered American and they do not allow offshore MT's to post resumes - but that is an I think.
If only this policy was followed with consistency, now that would be new!

you may have been sold that policy
it doesn't mean you could have collected on it.

Check the policy. It says......
unlimited long distance, person to person, then you will get busted. It may take a little while but they'll get you. I learned the hard way. I used Vonage and it worked great.
Honesty best policy
I don't think it would reflect badly on your son if you're just honest with the person who hired you about not being able to be on your feet for so long. I would suggest telling him/her that you didn't realize how difficult it would be to be on your feet for so many hours and that you've made a mistake. I think everything should work out just fine in the end :)
I never said it was an insurance policy. Are there not programs set
up for a reason? Is there no government assistance programs set up so that people can get help momentarily when they need it? I am not talking about depending on it. I am talking about OUR tax dollars going back to us during a time of legitimate NEED, not out of laziness. Do you think they are better spent in Iraq or a lot of other bull crap spending that is done on people not in our own country? We pay for this! No we don't have to expect our government to help us in times of need. Move to freaking Africa. Those views would fit in real good over there. I hope your kids go to private school. Wouldn't want the government taking OUR earned money and spending it back on us.
Deletions are made according to policy. (SM)
If you have a complaint about a post, take it to the Monitor board.

You'd be better off getting a private policy. Premiums are
cheaper, though still expensive, and you don't have to worry about insurance if you make a job change. Shop around, should be able to get a family policy for about $400.00/mo.
Or try to get the kids a separate policy

Fair Access policy
I have DW7000 professional and even with the extra download and upload capability they will still shut me down if I go over their limit. Also I am on SatMex and have had occasional trouble as long as I have had the system. Sometimes I just want to run over the dish and modem with my Jeep!!
I would read your health ins. policy
My husband's policy specifically states that even if a married couple get separated the spouse no longer has insurance coverage! The coverage definitely stops, on my husband's policy, when a divorce is final.
I would want to read a copy of the health ins. policy for sure. Just my 2 cents. :)
Official policy puts it best . . .
from the 2002 AAMT Book of Style:
"Obscenities, profanities, and vulgarities do not belong in a patient's record unless they are part of direct quotations that are essential to a report."
In 20+ years of transcribing, mostly psychiatry, with, as one might imagine, a lot of profanity, I've always just typed whatever the clinician quoted the patient as saying, and have never had a complaint.
Good luck,

Advertising policy of MTStars...
Many of you haven't noticed Advertising policy of MTStars lately.
http://www.mtstars.com/advertising.htm
No more sponsorships from MTSOs etc. The truth is being spoken on these boards and it always hurts. You can't remain sober if betrayed by some company or individual. You would have been speaking the same way if you were in their shoes.
I love MTStars for being unbiased (what people say nastiness). It's not like MTChat or MTDaily etc., where the posts are deleted and board owners are instructed to keep their & posters mouths shut for annual sponsorship of $500 by MTSOs.

Looks to me like this is the current policy, approved 10/2004, and

Health Insurance policy for 2006
is now charging a supplement payment for smokers and those that live with smokers. Does anyone else have this policy or getting for the next year? This not through MT companies.
Well, my life insurance policy is worth more than I am,
especially the more I try to make MT work for me. Oh, well. It used to be a lot worse. I cut up my credit cards and made power payments on those. I have my first credit card now in 10 years. Yours isn't bad. You can do it.
The national I work for has a no blank policy. sm
Plus you have to have 90% no blanks to QA to get bonuses and to maintain full-time status. This is very hard sometimes with some of the dictators that dictate from across the room, while the ward is going ape, and this all right next to the telemetry monitor and the ringing phone or at home with the yapping dogs in the background.
But I have found our QA to be forgiving and understanding, so I am getting more comfortable. I think they have a high standard so we will step higher, but they understand the reality, which I think is good.
DH says he definitely would not go through what I go through to be sure there are no blanks, but I am hoping that in time it will get easier, and I will get more productive, and I think it is.
OUCH! I had a private policy with BC/BS for $180/month sm
and it was a pretty good plan -- Affordablue -- had a $25 copay for office visits or something like that. That was just a single plan, though. It included dental coverage too, bot other than covering for routine cleaning and such, it was kind of useless when paying for crowns and other "big" items.
Sounds like you have a good deal. Fortunately, I am working for Transtech now and have affordable insurance .. whew!
I know you are looking for BCBS, but my United HealthCare policy SM
will allow my kids to stay on until they are 26 if they are not married and still living at home, whether they are in college or not. I double checked about it, and it's true. Also my dental is the same way but a different carrier.
If you leave one job and get a so-called bridge policy for your SM
90-day waiting period at your new job, this this also qualify as no break in coverage.
I'm getting ready to switch jobs, and there is just no way that we can afford the Cobra payments.
From my experience, they only offer a policy that pays...
cash for time spent in a hospital. Unless things have changed, I don't believe they have "regular" health insurance policies. I wouldn't buy from them anyway - they did a hike on my car insurance to over double one year about 5 years ago - I went to another insurance company and saved enough to cover my homeowner's insurance. They talk a good game, but it's just that - talk! You might try Anthem - I see them advertised on TV a lot now for individual policies. Good luck in finding something!
What about just a catastrophic policy in case something major happens?
Anthem I know has some cheaper high-deductible policies. Most nonprofite hospitals also have organizations to help with medical bills for the uninsured/lower income patients.
Read the policy and procedure manual, maybe something is in there.
I do not believe there is a law, but you could check with the labor department.
There was no announcement of this policy change? Sounds like it's time to go. nm

I'm with you on the illegals, but paying taxes is not an insurance policy.

I do not carry E&O insurance, but I do have my equipment covered under my HO policy.
My office is in my home and, God forbid, there should be a fire, I'd be out of business. I have coverage for my computer, printer, fax, phones and loss of use on a separate rider. Also, should anyone injury themselves coming or going from my office while doing business with me, their injuries are covered. Perhaps this is the information you're looking for.
Times change..including this policy about who is able to post. About a year ago,
this board started letting everyone post job openings, at least to what I can remember. I know at one point if they were India-based/affiliated etc..then they could not advertise but since anymore it is so rampant with companies being associated with India, they started letting them post. I could be wrong but this is what I recall.
Yes, it does constitute "creditable coverage." The only policy I found that was not considere
short-term policy. As you can tell, I've done this A LOT... So, I've hit every scenario..
Need bridge policy ASAP. Where can I get it? Have SEVERAL pre-existing conditions and meds
Just one medication at full cost is half of the COBRA payment plus I have steroid and Botox injections scheduled. Need insurance. Can anybody tell me where I can obtain "bridge insurance" without going broke?
What Company is This? I have been hired by a company that is sending a foot pedal.. Don't want t
.
The company cutting cpl, the company stopping paying for headers

Good of the company? As IC, I am my own company. Not my problem if she has problems as long as I do
:P
Accepted a job with a new company, gave two weeks notice to my old company..
Old company, let me go before two weeks was up. New company, said they were having trouble getting me set up and my equipment ready, but they would pay me while I waited. It's been a month, still no check from new company even though I was told it was "in the mail." I have no income and am at a loss.
I have a signed offer letter from the new company, contracts, etc. I applied for unemployment, but old company is saying I quit and technically I am currently employed with the new company! New company is not returning calls or answering email.
What should I do!?!?!?!
I started sending my resume out today, but the process of getting a new job will take at least two weeks and I need money now to catch up on what I'm behind!
You don't want to work for this company. Call your current company and
tell them that you have decided against the new position and tell them that you would like to stay. It is cheaper for them to let you stay than to train someone new. A company who could be so tacky as the one you just spoke of is one you do not want to work for. You can rescind your resignation. If you are a good MT, they will be glad you did.
With my company, ICs use their own emails, employees have company email.

COMPANY INQUIRIES belong on Company board, please!

....3 months later my old company rehired me; can you return to your 1st company?
nm
Local radiology company, not transcription company
who has only 5 transcriptionists and are not hiring at this moment. We all work at home and get great benefits, no insurance out of pocket and 22 days paid vacation in the first year, after that it goes up. I feel very fortunate to have found them, but again I chose them because they did not do production, so now that they are, I'm a little disappointed.
I think it varies greatly from company to company...sm
I was hired five months ago by a national straight out of school at 8 cpl. I think it just depends on your knowledge level and ability, and of course, what the company is willing to pay.
i think it varies from company to company and/or location
VR company? Not when the MT company owns its own VR equipment. n/m.

I have my own company email with my new company.
I can't answer your questions in your original post, I can tell you that with my new company, I have my own company email account, and I much prefer it. My old company had us use our personal email accounts, and they listed everyone who received emails in the cc line. They really never maintained those lists, and I received emails from them for a full five months after I quit - that despite my repeatedly asking to be removed from lists. Because the list had been passed from one person to the next in the company, I kept having to block sender after sender. Finally I replied to all, for each and every email I had gotten over a month's time. Well, that pretty much ended it.
I like to keep work and personal separate as much as possible.
It can vary from company to company.
If a company is on one coast and you on the other it can affect shift time, meaning usually if you want to start work 9-10 instead of 11 you could for 3rd shift, etc.
Buy your own... company computers are for that company only!
