It's not bad at all. I use it with one of my current MT jobs. It is better than most virtual private networks out there. Beats the heck out of Emdat -- that is the worst! You type in Word basically -- it just puts a template in your Word program with the appropriate demographics. Just don't hit F6 by mistake, it wipes out everything and you need to reboot at that point. Overall I give it a good rating! Just wish the company had more work.

iType/expander
I have to use iType where I work too. Try opening up your Word program and engaging your Expander program before you log on to iType to do any work. Sometimes this works.
Itype guide
Try Alt-L for voice control -- I have the manual but since it is in PDF format, cannot get it to copy to email or as an attachment. But if you are starting with FN, you should be able to call one of the techs as well to help you :)

Anyone using Instant Text with Itype?
Yes, I work for that company that has Itype so please do not hold it against me. I would just like to know if there is a trick to getting Instant Text to work with the Itype platform? Sometimes Instant Text will work and sometimes it won't. I really miss my Instant Text when I cannot use it and it hurts my production so if anyone knows that secret please let me know.

How hard is it to get a 150 lpm quota with itype?
I start tomorrow with a company that uses it and I'm worried about using an unfamiliar platform. thanks in advance for your answers.
Instant Text with IType
After successfully installing IType and working with the trainer, he suggested NOT opening Instant Text until IType brought me to the first MSWord document screen. At that point, open Instant Text and link it to the document. Worked for me.
SOS! Any iType iPlayer users
I am starting a new job with this platform which I have never used before. For reasons I don't care to get into (don't get me started) I am without a foot pedal until next week, so I am trying to use audio hot keys. The hot keys on my laptop quick launch buttons only work with iTunes. I tried to use the "help" button on the iPlayer but it does not display (it drives me crazy when I find out that for whatever reason, MTs are blocked from using help features!). Does anybody know if iPlayer has audio hot keys or if there is someplace on the web I can find help with iPlayer? I am looking at the FutureNet website at the moment, but so far, no luck.
Instant Text works with iType
If you want to use any existing list of shortcuts you may have, you can import them into Instant Text, use them in iType and achieve your goal.
