I know. I was penalized too, but the first year--sm
that you claim IC status, you do not have to do estimated taxes. Anything after that, yes you do. I was penalized over 400 by federal and 40.00 by state this year...I really do not like doing the estimated tax thing, but I will from now on. I can use that extra money more than they can. lol. sorry you had been given the wrong info. I had seen someone say you don't have to do estimated taxes if all is paid by DECEMBER, but even that is wrong. If you are late paying quarterly even, they can assess penalties for that, too.
Oh yes. If you are penalized, you have to pay interest rates sm
that make credit card companies look generous. Better to have more withheld than having to owe. I hated filing those quarterly returns. yuck.
Anyone being penalized for sending reports to QA?
I guess I have it all wrong when it comes to QA. I thought it stood for quality assurance. I send reports to QA when I have a blank. I put a blank when I am not 100% sure of what I heard, including the spelling of the patient's name. I want to make sure the patient gets their report typed up accurately. I want to turn in the best work I can do. Why is it that wanting a second set of ears to confirm what you thought you heard a bad thing ending up in being penalized or terminated if it goes beyond a certain %? I am very confused. I refuse to "guess" just to fill in blanks even if it means I will be fired.
I've been there 2+ years and NEVER penalized for sending to QA. nm
The state (Alabama) penalized me this year.
I was told they do not the first year, but after that they do. It was like $50, and I will have to pay it again this year since it was June when I was hit with it, but I am seriously thinking of paying estimated tax starting next year.
You're human. Blanks happen. Should never be penalized for them. nm

I know what ya mean April
I left my now 13yo with a babysitter for 2 years while I worked in house. Now with my 2yo twins I have been at home with them the entire time. It is well worth the *bad* stuff IMO. There are crappy things about any job....why not deal with the crap at home, with your kids. LOL :)
Since April 1978

Our cat, who has been missing since April
He is a little thin, but otherwise looks to be in good shape. The best news is our new dog (stray -somebody dumped her on the highway by our house) who loves people/hates every other living creature, just walked up to him, sniffed him, and paid absolutely no more attention to him. It's a good day
21 years in April :)
3 years multi-specialty doc office
4 years radiology
14 years acute care (11 working from home)

Good luck!
100% for us this past April. nm
Yes - she was in jail for this activity I believe in April -
Administrator knows about her and just last week pulled a post she placed for a C phone. I think we just need to get her name out there so people are aware of what's going on.
Went through the same thing last year, April, sm
with my 14 year old Cocker. Strange how it all happened. While I was suffering my own loss, the poster, Laur, was doing the exact same thing at the exact time with her dog. I truly know what you are going through. I have since gotten another Cocker but he will never replace the one that I lost, even though I love him dearly. they are so different in many ways and so alike in others. My kids laugh because when he gets to barking too much, I call him the other dog's name. I'll never forget her.
Rule of thumb in the NE is October & April when
the time changes. Daylight Savings starts in April and Standard Time in October. It always works for me. Change all the clocks and change all the batteries.
For those who haven't done so yet, though, better get changing.
April, my 5-1/2 month old bichipoo puppy.

Get the April 2006 Consumer Reports magazine...sm
It gives you a rundown on all vehicles as well as which ones have held up well and which ones haven't over the years. It's in the stores now or your local library should have a copy you can look at for free. :o)
