IC means you work from home as your own employer. You pay your own USA taxes, the company you work for does not. You should be able to set your own hours, but most companies still have a set schedule they want you to work. You receive no benefits like health insurance, paid time off, etc. As an employee, you still work from home, but have possible benefits like insurance, etc. The company is supposed to pay part of your taxes, but not all (I think, but not sure). They set your hours and schedule. Since you would still be working at home, your boss would not be *looking at you all the time.* and as a word of advice, if you are from India or are an other than USA transcriptionist, your post will no doubt be removed. good luck to you.
