I wouldn't suggest wearing them while you work.

That's true. I wouldn't mind wearing the
burka thing or whatever you call it. I can't have direct sunlight on my skin anymore anyway (melanoma survivor). I would fit right in except for the freckles, green eyes and strawberry hair. I did hear there are very good horseback riding places and that would be a big draw for me of course, as I would be a real cowgirl if I could. Just don't live in the right place or time for that matter.
I've been wearing them for a year while I work with no....sm
problem. They aren't that strong.
I suggest if you are looking for perks where you work and poster thinks
you should get free stuff from where you work, you might want to forget working at the bowling alley and take a job at a car dealership. Set your sights higher than free bowling. LOL.
The company I work for said cable phone wouldn't work, just FYI.

I wouldn't work for less. What's the deal with this woman and where does she work?
xxx
Then you would have no life at all except work, work, work if you did that. I wouldn't do it. nm
.
yes and I wouldn't work any other way
have to have the flexibility to move around. Haven't had any of the aches and pains in my arms and hands since switching from desk-top to laptop. Plus, it allows me to travel a lot and still keep up with my work. Luv it.
No, but wouldn’t want to work there
Did before and really not good place- I left with loads of others, much happier!
That wouldn't work. When I'm in a groove I
can make $30/hour, on a bad day $20/hour. No one is going to pay an MT $20/hour. The MTs have less and less power because the companies can always turn to India. A company doesn't know from day to day what the work load will be like, unless they are doing overflow for an account and only take a certain number of minutes a day. Most of the time you can guestimate, but then when delinquent letters come out you'll get at least another 100 hours of dictation.
I totally sympathize with the MT who is struggling to pay their bills and who want to work but can't get the lines. It isn't fair, but it is what it is. I honestly don't see it getting any better unless work is brought back to the U.S. and then once again the American MT is in high demand. I've seen many MTs say they work for 2 or even 3 companies so they can get needed lines.
If you wouldn't have it except for work then I say write it off...nm

BUT YOU WOULDN'T WANT TO TAKE AWAY THEIR "BUSY" WORK?.... SM
Awww... they have to justify their paycheck too, you know, or else MTSO will think they don't have enough to do. Remember, they get paid to nitpick. Makes the suits and power-that-be think they're actually earning their oats.
I wouldn't want to work for anyone who posts

They told me speedtype wouldn't work either
but it does - you just have to have it open while you are working - it does not integrate into DQS - just sits there and lets you stuff it with expansions..;)
Great idea except you wouldn't get any work done!--nm

You're right! I wouldn't work for a company that SM
expected me to surf all over the world just because some prima donna didn't want to be bothered with proper dictation.
I wouldn't work as an MT for a lousy $7.50 an hour OR
.
I would say NO otherwise our work wouldn't be in a 3rd world country.
nm
Thanks, b/c 5 files at a time wouldn't work for me. nm

We are outdoor people so my suggestions wouldn't work
for you, although we have a motorhome so our camping isn't really roughing it.
We did not take an extendend train trip, but did take an 20+ hour trip on a train. We did not have a sleeper car as it was just as cheap to fly as it was for the sleeper car and we were trying to save $$. Anyway the train had mice and a sewage problem and every time the train hit a rough spot that made it jerk the sewage smell would go through the whole train and gag you. There were people in sleeper compartments that their bathrooms didn't work. Our train originated in NY and was going to FL and we got on midway and all the better seats were taken. The train also seemed to stop at every crossroads for someone to get on/off so sleeping was not easy.
I'm a long-time Monrovian. Wouldn't work anywhere else. nm
nm
I wouldn't worry about it, unless you work in a small town.
I can't see any big hospitals or doctor's offices going back to that.
The plug is for the monitor, pedal wouldn't work there. NM

If Tatum O was not a good actress she wouldn't have work no matter who her daddy was.
But you are right on one count. I would rather watch reality TV than bad acting and TV is filled with bad acting and bad scripts.
I didn't think Tatum did anything wrong unless you think telling the truth is a bad thing.
Yes, she should have been wearing a

Wearing off
I've had that problem in the past also. I found that carefully painting the keys with a clear nail polish works wonders.
What does wearing a vest have to do with it?

It wouldn't load with my Office. Somehow it wouldn't "read" my 2003 Basic, although sm
technical couldn't find anything wrong with my software. They really tried hard. I see so many people that like Escription, I'm sorry not to be able to use it. Hopefully I can get Office Pro on my next machine, and maybe use it then. I could upgrade, but I'm still not sure it would work.
I can't stand wearing shoes.
Sometimes I'll wear socks in the winter if my feet get cold.
At this point I would seriously consider wearing pantyhose and going TO a job.
I said I wouldn't but this business doesn't appear to be getting better, just worse for those of us involved.
Letters wearing off on keyboard
I admit, I purchased a very inexpensive keyboard, but the letters have worn off within a month! In looking at other keyboards at different stores, it looks like they all have the same kind of stuck-on letters that would wear off pretty quickly. Can anyone recommend a keyboard that retains its letters for a very long time with a lot of use? Or has anyone tried the stickers they make to cover the keys?
I've been wearing a splint that's sorta like a retainer...sm
for years that my orthodontist made for me. I've had it replaced about every 5 years or so. It works great! The funny thing is that I pick at him that when he put me in braces at age 12 he never dreamed that 30 years later I'd STILL be coming to see him. I do have fun when I go see him because invariably there's some pre-teen or teenager who asks "so how long have you been a patient?" and when I tell them 30 years they look horrified. Then I explain that I was in braces for 18 months, retainers for a year and then returned for TMJ problems at age 20 and have been in and out every few years since then. They always give a big sigh of relief then!
Chill out, all she is doing is wearing a color she obviously likes -
and black in high school, some pretty wild clothes too. Doesn't sound like she is going goth or anything. Lots of girls wear black, nothing wrong with it. Remember pick your battles and don't blow the little things out of proportion.....as for rebelling I would not consider this anywhere close to rebelling.
Quit wearing sexy clothes when you

Hhhmm, and what color suit are you wearing

Whatcha wearing and who you're emailing
I had read someone's complaints about complaining yesterday, while browing the board. I got an email from one of my girlfriends just now, telling me she had been called in for receiving too many emails and given a 90 day verbal warning. I used to work for a company that told me I made too many personal phone calls and worried I was not dressed professionally enough. I used to have to pick up the CEO's cleaning and make sure all the buttons were on his shirts and there were no wrinkles. Filling him a pitcher of water on his desk and leaving no fingerprints on a glass to go with it. Let's remember that, today, as we sit in our sweats, being comfortable, or if the phone rings and we visit for 10 minutes, or if we get a cute email and want to send it to friends. No boss towering over us......at least in our home.
Pick him up wearing a trenchcoat and spiked heels.

Never thought of wearing scrubs, but if you're comfy, sm
that's all that matters. I did the heels and hose thing for over 20 years when I worked in an office and/or hospital, now my "uniform" consists of a t-shirt and shorts until it gets really cold, then I begrudgingly give up my shorts and go with sweat pants, although not the kind with the elastic at the ankle ... hate those. I'm tall, so usually most pants end up looking like capri pants anyway, so guess I should just cave in and buy capris.
A lot of people think because I work at home, I sit in jammies all day, but that idea doesn't even appeal to me. Plus, first thing in the morning, I have to walk my doggie, and I really do not think the neighbors need or want to see me walking around in my PJs. But it is a personal choice ... if jammies or scrubs or even typing in the nude make you happy and productive, I say go for it. :-)
My professionalism is not determined by what I wear. The UPS or Fed Ex guy would probably fall over dead if I answered the door in heels and pearls. :-) But they both comment on how happy I always seem, and that must be a reflection of my love for my job and the comfort of being in the environment I choose to create for myself. :-)
Yikes .. this was supposed to be a short little post supporting the lady who wanted to wear scrubs. Guess it's not only the docs I type for who are long-winded ... oops!
Happy Saturday everyone!
I just had the surgery and my doc has me wearing Occunomix Neoprene gloves
I found them only on-line and at a surgical supply store, but they are great as far as I am concerned.
Wouldn't that mean that you simply wouldn't have to print out everything?
I would suggest
giving them a call. I would imagine they would hire PT whether they're advertising for PT or not. I work PT but do as many or more lines than is required for FT. I know they bend over backwards for me in every respect and I doubt I'm treated any differently than their other MTs. I think you'll find them to be incredibly nice folks even AFTER you're hired! And, believe it or not, they do know how to coordinate hiring and work flow so it's unlikely you'd ever run out of work, might be ASKED to work extra but that with more than adequate compensation IMHO.
I can suggest one
AT&T CallVantage. - You can make all LD calls (including with your dictation system) directly through your DSL line. I've never been billed more than $35/month (I think that includes taxes), and I'm on close to 10,000 minutes a month.
So how to you suggest they do it then?
Unfortunately they have to keep track of who is getting these cards and they have to make sure there is no fraud going on, so they have to make some stipulations.
I think it's a great effort regardless!
Can I suggest something?
Two lines of thinking, actually:
1) Please consult a behavior specialist. There is an underlying reason or reasons for his behavior. It's much healthier for him to find out the causes for his behavior and design a treatment plan and work for changes rather than to just cover them up by changing the environment.
2) Please consider going against what seems to be the attitude today: Everything made-to-order. What I mean is that children learn quickly what is acceptable and what isn't. If we constantly are taking our children out of normal social situations and putting them in "specialized", "personalized", "made-to-order" situations they will never learn how to cope and get along with others. They will also be robbed of the joy of learning community-mindedness. Not teaching them how to get along in life is hateful. Not easy skills to learn as a teen, as an adult.
Just my opinion. I faced behavioral problems with mine when they were young. I know how it feels. My best wishes for you.
I would suggest..
going to a psychiatrist. I also suffer from anxiety and depresson. I take a combination of Wellbutrin and Neurontin, and this seems to work very well. I have had a hard time finding any medicine that works for me. I still have episodes sometimes, but they could prescribe you Xanax for those in between momements. I don't take Xanax though, just the Neurontin for the anxiety.
What do you suggest
How much do you guys charge for a late fee when invoices aren't paid in time?
My terms are invoicing the first of each month and payment due within ten days.
I've decided to impose a late fee since I'm having a horrible time getting paid. What do you recommend? Thanks.
Thanks! What do you suggest then?
I would suggest
investing in the Stedman's Medical Terms and Phrases book. It is kind of spendy, but it sure is a nice comprehensive reference book. Definately worth it..
oh, i was going to suggest
carboplatin and Paclitaxel...?
May I suggest
Shortkeys2? That's the program I have at my office (I do transcription for a major medical institution) and at home (home transcription on the side). It works with most programs and platforms. I've only had one or two programs so far that it wasn't compatible (AOL and GMAIL).
I would suggest
If at all possible, I would suggest you get a job working in-house, so that you can get paid by the hour. I don't know about the rest of you, but when I first started out, I don't know how many lines I typed per hour, but I worked 8 to 2, and I only transcribed about 18 to 25 reports a day. My speed and comprehension built up slowly and it helped greatly having co-workers to help me. I feel that the MTSO will take advantage of you in several ways and believe you will probably not make a decent living in the beginning. You have to learn the system you are working on, the physician's style of dictaton, etc.
I'd suggest...(sm)
