I use a free program called FilePhile.  I found out about it when I was searching for an alternative to FTP.  It enables you to send/receive files of unlimited size, even large voice files.  Both the sender and the receiver must have the program downloaded. 

I am not a very tech-saavy person, so I wanted something that would be quick and easy to use.  FilePhile fit the bill, and the fact that it's free was an added bonus!   ');>   Most importantly for the MT biz, it's also compliant with HIPAA guidelines since it utilizes 128-bit secure encryption.

May be taking on a new account where the Doc may Fed X the tapes and I send back through E-mail. What is everyone ideas of free encrypted mail and even ones that you pay?  I tried to convince him digital and then FTP site but I think he is from the stone age and would not adhere.  If there are any other ways to send files(completed) let me know.

Is there anyone out there who could tell me how I could listen to encrypted files in my Express Scribe which I receive through email???  I am able to receive and listen to them just fine when not encrypted, but cannot figure out how to set ES up to use a password.  When I click on the voice file in my inbox, it now takes me to ES, but displays an ERROR box stating  - unable to open DSS file, this means the file might not be a true DSS file or the file is corrupt.

Yesterday, I posted this on the wrong board, but did receive some response anyway and thanks!  Still now working though. Someone told me that I needed to get the User Id # from the clinic's software program they are using.  The person I subcontract for thought that the User Id from her Olympus DSS software would work, but I am not so sure since the files originally come from the clinic. 

I would rather not have to purchase the Olympus program if not necessary.  I would think there would be some way to receive these encrypted files with their password.  I have also tried to leave the User ID area blank or enter 0, but this does not work either. Keep getting the ERROR message as above.   

The files are coming from a dss program called Olympus if that matters.  Any insight would be greaaaatly appreciated!!!

e-mail address because it is not revealed when they send mail because we have spam protection in place.  The only way they would know what your email address is, is if you reply to the email they send you.  If you don't want to receive any email from anyone, simply do not enter your email address in the Email field.

Would you mind telling us where you were transferred to?? One o f the MT's in our office is ruuning into the same problem you had--she works 7 days a week and runs out of work  in all of her 4 accts but yet they (Foxboro) will call her on monday morning to tell her that they are out of TAT in her primary act. She did exactly what you did and used another ID number and lo and behold there was all the work, being held for someone else

AutoText from Word to a disk or flash drive. I can't figure out how to get it on there. TIA

On the company board you mentioned you work for the Columbus Ohio office, now your saying someone in your office (Foxboro) had some problems.  Do you work out of both Columbus AND Foxboro?  I'm confused

from Word and Wordperfect to Shorthand.  I sure hope, it would save SO much time.

What would be the easiest way to transfer AutoCorrect entries from one computer to another?

It is a method of sending files between two computers that requires a software program to accomplish the task. Think of it like Windows Explorer to move files between computers.

You need to have a server that acts as a holder where files can be uploaded to and downloaded from by parties who have access to that specific site, identified by their ISP numbers and not a name (like mtstars.com).

I currently do a small amount of transcription for a doctor's office and have been using Novuscript to transfer files and dictation.  Does anyone have any suggestions that might be less expensive that are HIPAA compliant for file transfer and dictation transfer.
