VR works just fine
I think that VR works great. I use Escription. They seem to understand that VR alone is not the only way to improve productivity. They encourage people to use keyboard shortcuts. I find that those shortcuts help a lot.
Editing is here to stay.
I have speedtype and it works just fine.
Just have to remember to open it when I begin working -
I use WildBlue and it works just fine for me.

I'm on dial-up. works fine.
The link works fine for me too.

I use SH with Chartscript, works fine.

Speedtype works fine w/docQscribe
They told me it wouldn't work, but one day I opened it just to see and I'll be darned if it didn't sort of "take over" in place of the expander that's in DocQScribe! Now I have all the work I've already done in my own expander and it works just fine! Glad I didn't listen to them (my employers)
Yes, that is what I did, free phone, like new, works fine. - nm

I use an Infinity and it works fine with ExpressScribe. (nm)

I went with the Student version and it works fine...
certainly haven't found anything missing that I'm in need of!
Sorry you have to use Medicrap, but I use IT where I work and it works just fine.
Its amazing how un-MT friendly that program is and how the hospital administrators don't care that Medicrap won't fix anything.
I've just used the wav player part, and it works fine.
I have not heard good things about the rest of the product. I have used Winscribe wav pedal with RIS Logic for radiology. Terrific combination!
My Logitech cordless is 5-years-old and works fine - sm
despite tons of garbage in it, though I do try to turn it upside down and shake out the crumbs from time to time, and blow it out with a duster. I also pop off keys and clean under them with a duster that way too. Though almost messed up my shift key, put it back on wrong and it would not work, but figured it out and now it is fine. Bought those stickers to put on the keys where the letters had worn off, but the D is damaged now, looks like someone (not me) dropped something on the keyboard as the D, E and C all are damaged/have marks on the, The D being the worst though, big chunk of it is gone. But still going srong. Would like a softer touch keyboard though, this one is very hard, but maybe that is the key to its longevity? Something to think about (I work ~40-60 hours a week).
The speller works perfectly fine so if you are having problems contact me and I will
My email addy is admin@mtstars.com. Free or not, it's a great software, so perhaps you just need some assistance.
No. EditScript works fine with my 2003 Word version. sm
It is ExText with Word 2000 that I am worried about interfering with my EditScript from eScription.
Sorry that happened to you. I have been running Word 2003 with eScription for about 4 years now. Everything works great!
Email works fine with my Word docs are open...
it just doesn't work when ChartScript is open.
I am happy with mine...the price was right and it works just fine. No need for pricey laptops IMO.

I like InstantText...is that what you
instantText
I've been studying the manual that comes with IntantText and can't seem to find a way to backup the glossarys to a floppy. If my computer crashes, I would assume that any changes I've made to the glossarys would be gone. I tried just the "save as" and it won't go to a disk. Any suggestions?
I like InstantText myself
I tried flashtype and don't know the price comparison, but this worked for me. I talready has a lot of common stuff in it and I add stuff all the time. Plus I don't have to remember anything.
I have InstantText too.
I really love it and found it especially helpful for saving the correct spellings of drug names in the word area. I use it with AutoCorrect in a Word based platform and it works great. I like it b/c there I don't have to memorize special shortcuts.
I use InstantText with it and...sm
you can also use your autocorrect with it automatically since it a MS Word-based program. So, you should be good to go. It's a fabulous program, enjoy-!!
InstantText question
I just recently started using InstantText and now have to switch to a different computer. I have studied the manual front to back and can't seem to find where it tells me how to backup what I've created in Instant Text and move it to another computer. I am a new user, so I'm hoping it's easy - just that I don't know the program well enough to understand. Can anyone help me?
Anyone have exp with InstantText & Smartype?
I currently use Smartype and love it. But I just started a new job and they use Instant Text. She said I can use either, but Instant Text is available to me if I want to use it. Are they similar? Has anyone used BOTH and have a preference? I'm just wondering if I should use it or just stick with Smartype?
InstantText allows you to compile sm
all your docs from a doctor and it will make shortcuts for phrases used a certain amount of times.
Shorthand or InstantText SM
Tops in the field. Both excellent. Get one of them today.
My goodness, YES, an Expander makes an enormous difference. Why do you think so many people are saying they can't make a living any more and yet others are making good money? Today's wages are based on a transcription speed literally something like twice what it used to be, and going up.
Using yours extensively IS a new skill you'll have to develop over the next few months, but your income will go up with every paycheck. You're going to love seeing THAT and end up addicted to abbreviating everything in sight.
And, as you do more and more editing, you're also going to love having your expander do all those fussy multi-keystroke corrections you run into again and again with just a couple of taps on your part. I couldn't bear to go back to deleting "q.i.d." and typing in "4 times a day" a million times a day. Yuck!
Best wishes.
InstantText or Shorthand. SM
This is not the place to save a few dollars not getting one of the best programs available. A month from now, you'd give up (insert favorite vice of choice) before you'd give up your expander.
Smartype, much beloved as it (and any expander) is by its users, isn't quite in the same class.
Expanderic may be good but is new and basically untried. It's officially endorsed by this forum, BTW. I'm bothered by the fact that its advertising showcases the term "Shorthand," which could be misleading, though not intentionally, I'm sure...
Best place to buy InstantText?
What is the best website to buy Instant Text from? I have been considering getting it for months. I have been using AutoCorrect in Word this whole time, and I think I'm ready to graduate to Instant Text. It's worth it right? I found a few websites to get it from, and I was wondering which one is the best. I'm nervous that it is worth it as well.
Shorthand and InstantText for sure, SM
but check over at productivitytalk.com to see what they say. High on my list of attributes would be compatibility so that I could take with me just about anywhere. I'm so dependent on mine that I wouldn't consider taking a job at a place that couldn't accommodate Shorthand, or at very least convert my custom ShortHand dictionary into its program; but fortunately, Shorthand's pretty good that way.
I read somewhere that InstantText does it, but I haven't tried it. nm

InstantText Version III Pro for sale
If interested please contact me at angela.dill@gmail.com. Also several old Spellex floppy discs. Thanks!
InstantText, hands-down. Doubled my line count.
I tried them all and then bought IT. I have gone from 115 lph to 286 lines per hour (I do ER). I would, literally, be lost without it.
I have an InstantText question about compatibility with Extext Speech
I posted this on the textware forum page, but no answer as of yet.
I am just beginning Extext Speech, and when I am linked to IText, the "magic" strokes, Alt plus period, etc., are formating strokes with IT and do not work as the magic keys.
Is there a way to get around this so I can actually use the magic keystrokes?
Thanks in advance..
Full Word is in the Works "Suite," not plain Works.
Works saves files in a different format, but you can open them in Word if you have the correct filter installed.
RIGHT!!! Someone who works 16 hours and someone who works 60 will have a HUGE difference. NM
.
Emdat works with Instant Text Por V - ony version that works with Emdat - nm
nm
Shorthand works with every program, it works outside the program you use, does not interfere.
nm
Looks fine to me.

That's fine, but...
statistically children do better and live in less poverty within a married committed relationship. It's no guarantee, but statistically chances are better if you create the proper nest beforehand. Kids deserve that stability, not a scary violent father who isn't committed to their mother. I'm not condemning you, just pointing out that there are better choices to be made. And I do know that my 17yo may up and do something stupid herself. Therefore by the grace of God go I.
I just tried, got in just fine. nm
Just fine, thanks
Always has been, always will be.
Which is fine, but they need to PAY someone for that. (nt)
I think it would be fine to say...
send monday to charity in lieu of gifts. I wouldn't give money to a couple who specifically requested it though. A wedding is a celebration of marriage, not getting money or gifts.
Thanks, I'm fine just...
my thumb itches this morning but that's it. The brown recluse is not the only spider to have violin shape. That's why we went to the ER. On my husbands preliminary look at him at home he saw the violin. But under a microscope, he saw that he did not have the eyes.
No I would not put up with it- now and then of course is fine - sm
I encourage my DH to go out and do things, though he gets upset when I do sort of similar things; mine involve driving 200 miles. I take the kids with me and I basically hang at friends houses for a day or two. He tends to get freaked when we are not home. Me, I'd be thrilled to have 2 days of freedom, but my DH is a freak to say the least. But if he were to go out a couple times (2) a month to a bar setting with friends I would not have an issue with it. But 3 x a week is a bit much, also expensive, and possibly dangerous if he is drinking and driving. If it bothered your friend you'd know, but since she has not brought it up she must be okay with it. Who knows maybe he is a real jerk at home and she is happy he is out 3 night a week, who knows. I would not worry about it, as you said it is not your business.
looks fine to me
"aggressively" treatment would be incorrect !
No. It's been fine for me.
Thanks! I'm fine...
Both legs were swollen. I just couldn't tell the left one was. It went up into my groin too. Apparently, I have pedal edema, a UTI and was a little dehydrated. So, no clot or anything. My legs were feeling tight and weird from the swelling I guess.
I guess better safe than sorry, huh?!
MQ is just fine now. sm
There is no need for panic. We are also getting paid downtime for the time the system was down. People aren't leaving Medquist because of this, at least I'm not. In my opinion, Medquist is still the best!
I have before and it was fine (nm)

It's fine!
There is no problem transcribing lectures that they have recorded or in typing or transcribing reports. As long as you are not actually providing the intellectual content, it's fine. In the days before computers, typing papers was an excellent way to earn money.
A lot of schools have writing clinics that help students with reports and assignments. They advise on writing style, grammar, etc. If they can do it, so can you. :)
