I took Relora but stopped. What really worked was sm

eliminating all the refined sugars and "white" carbs from my diet and beginning a sensible exercise program. I had my cortisol measured and it was through the roof. After adhering to this type of diet since last March, I have lost over 30 lb and have really gotten into exercise and am training for a 60 mile bike ride next month.

Had it and it worked okay but then suddenly stopped working
Found out every Transcriptionist using a C-phone had that problem. Magic Jack changed something one weekend about 1-1/2 to 2 months ago and it no longer works with a foot pedal.
I took Relora, very similar sm
I had consulted a naturopath, who tested my cortisol and found it was too high. I took Relora and various vitamins to get my adrenals back on track. I also gave up caffeine and refined sugar/"white" carbs, which fixed up my system. Without the caffeine and sugar, and with the supplements (including Relora), I ended up losing 40 lb and keeping it off.

:) I would still be taking it, but I felt so good and ended up getting pregnant :)
My kid stopped going at 18.....SM

She liked her pediatrician so much she stayed until 18.....

Re QA, has anyone stopped
looking at their edited reports? I simply cannot do it anymore. For 18 years I have been transcribing medical reports, and the more I type the worse QA seems to think I am. It is to the point I cannot bear to look at my reports anymore...it is crazy with tiny little errors and it only makes me sick, literally. Then if I want to take 1/2 hour out of my time I can relisten to all my reports, and 8 out of 10 times it is a 50-50 chance of who is right but of course it is always the editor. I get through the 'grunt' work, piecing together a puzzle from some horrendous dictator, with a 99% completed report, send to QA for 1 blank, and it comes back with 3 or 4 ridiculous noncritical errors which matter nothing to the content of the report, and all because someone was able to 'listen' against my already typed report (aww, that is so hard!) and found 'is' where it is totally questionably there or not, and I am sick of fighting it anymore. I have spent WAY TOO MUCH time worrying about this ridiculous stuff. What I want to know is: Does anyone else not look anymore, and how much can it hurt. There are editors who just want to mark off for something, anything, and make a name for themselves it seems even at the expense of ruining someone's QA score. How about I just stop looking and let a manager fire me one day because my score is down...who cares anymore. I will not even respond to posts with the attitude that we need to provide quality to the customers blah blah blah - hey, if hospitals wanted quality the work would NOT be going overseas to ESL transcriptionists in the very first place, nor would capitation be in place and all the woes that has brought, nor would our personal information be 'out there' floating around so some day it can be breached. That argument is totally lost on me. American MTs get constant abuse from not only the dictators but again also from editors, all the while reports come back from India or elsewhere with never a care or problem from hospitals at their quality or errors...oh it is a big joke all the time how many errors they make but that is okay, that is acceptable for them. For us - look out, you are constantly harassed and repeatedly tormented on a daily basis over this. It is not right, it just is not right.
I stopped letting them do that.
Too many times they had inexperienced techs who messed everything up.  Once my computer crashed because of what they did.  Another time, another company, they deleted a program and nothing would work right.  Just because they say they are a computer tech does not mean they know anything.  Many do not even have a certificate, just a litle on the job training.
That was a while ago and they stopped docking pay.

I have a question.  How do you have 2 list open at the same time?  I can merge 2 list but I don't know or see a way to have 2 separate list open.

p.s.  This is a work computer, not my PC, so the software may or may not be the same.

They stopped making those back around
1914.  But hope you find one anyway!  Main thing is be happy with yourself and your life.  Funny thing is years ago my son wanted a fish tank, so we kept upgrading to larger sizes, going from 5 gallon, to 10 to 35 and then 40 gallon.  At that point, I told my son, "I will not get a larger tank because I will not get married just to have a man around to carry that ding-dong tank!!"  That is the way I live my life; what I can handle and what makes me happy and trying not to have to depend on a DH to help.  Maybe one day, I'll find a good man just to hang around with.  Have a beautiful day!!
Hmmmm...they stopped with the stamps here

believe me, outsourcing out of the country will be stopped soon. sm
Do you know how many U.S. doctors or clinics who contract with a US transcription co. who outsources actually know their patient's confidentiality records are leaving the country? ...very few. These docs are clueless, not by their own fault, but by the deceiving company who represents themself as a U.S. based co. (which may be true). However, they fail to "share the info. with the doc" informing them "by the way, we send your dictation to India". This info. IMO has just started to surface for access by physicians. If HIPAA passes the strict regulations on patient confidentiality, you don't think there's gonna be a big crack-down on this? U.S. MT's and honest US based transcription companies need to ride the bumps in the road now because things will get better for us. We are not talking about outsourcing work to China to sew shirts to bring back to the US dept. stores, we are talking about patient medical records. I was once a small MTSO, and I can say with 100% certainty, I would not take the legal chance of playing with patient medical records by sending them out of the country, not to mention taking jobs away from US MTs. If MTSOs were not outsourcing, our pay scale would go up and you could probably find better employees who were willing to work harder, thus reducing your costs for editing, etc.
I stopped by the office and everyone was way too polite.
The part where she cut off the clinical diagnosis and then typed "love your chest report, great work!" on it was what sent me into a spin.
the only reason I stopped doing local
accounts and tapes is because HIPAA came about and said that tapes being transported were in violation - so I went with a national - and now our information is going to Pakistan, India, Philipines - think we all felt safer with tapes.
I stopped using artificial anything years ago and
ANYTHING with artificial sweetner of any kind, no matter how far down on the label it is, makes me sick. I get sick to my stomach, get a headache and just feel horrible! I cannot convince any doctor of this and when I went to a bariatric specialist to loose weight he all but told me I was crazy. Even gave me samples knowing they had artificial sweetner in them, but didn't tell me that. I used them, got sick and took them back for a refund and never went back.

I HATE when people (such as grandparents, and well meaning parents) give my kids things with artificial sweetners in them. Especially when they know I am against it.

I live by one word now....MODERATION. If it says anywhere on it "sugar free" it goes back on the shelf. But they are getting better and better about hiding it. Its even hard to find a protein bar without it in it!!!
nevermind...stopped working again.

I stopped going to the doctor since our clinic
decided to outsource transcription services and lay off the entire department. I don't want my medical records leaving this state. If I do need medical care, I'll go to the ER or an independent physician. The problem is that nobody knows or understands what happens to their medical records.
My number keypad stopped working
Number lock is on, but it backspaces every time I hit a number.  The numbers on the regular keyboard work.  I'd appreciate any suggestions.  Thanks.
This is of no help, but I stopped working anyplace that required me

Stopped getting work in the middle of Dec and found a new job.. however he
There are some who work locally to the office.  Has anyone asked them if the office is open?  I live in a different state.  What a royal mess!
I stopped posting for the most part, because some S.A. always has something to say negatively about
I they don't like your post, why not just ignore it?
Why would you allow this to go on for five years? You should have stopped it a long time ago. nm

I think they stopped hiring Canadian MTs last year. nm

Katrina has stopped 1 of the 2 oil/gas piplines from delivering to our state....sm

Right now they have no idea when it will be back up and they're warning everyone in Georgia about potential $3.00 and above for gas by the weekend as well as possible gas shortages.   The governor and energy officials are working on trying to get emergency shipments from other sources.

I'm glad I have a full tank and work from home - hopefully I can ride this crisis out but I know others don't have the work at home luxury.

i stopped reading at the unwed pregnancy part
statistics have shown that teen pregnancy has gone down in the past 30 years. Most unwed pregnancies these days are by choice by grown women. In 1996 I was 25, wanted a child and was not married, so I made the decision to have a child on my own. Is that a bad thing? Now, I own my own home, my daughter wants for nothing and is a straight A student, and I am by no means rich or come from money. I work hard and have instilled good values in my daughter. I don't see that as any part of some explosion of bad behavior....sorry but I have to disagree with you. If you are offended by what you saw/heard/smelled that is fine but to judge these people as "bad", well that's for a higher power to decide, don't you think?
I stopped my HRT when studies showed it did not prevent osteoporosis. sm
I have osteoporosis.  The govt halted a study on HRT as the women involved had more heart problems than those on the placebo.  Too scary for me.  In addition, my hair was falling out excessively.  Since I have been off it, my hair is back to normal, but the flashes have come back.   Even more repulsive to me was when I found out that the HRT I was on came from the urine of pregnant mares that were impregnated just to get the HRT ingredients, then the colts were destroyed.  No way.  There are over-the-counter remedies for hot flashes, but now they claim that black cohosh causes liver cirrhosis.  So, I'm not taking anything.
Not me. Stopped watching after the twins were born. Too many kids.

mine stopped doing that weeks ago. I believe the glitch is fixed. NM

I gave two weeks notice... but stopped doing their work FIRST
Since they refused to give me a raise after 7 years of loyal service to 3 doctors full-time, i gave me 2 weeks but didn't do their work in my 24-hour TAT window because I was SO p*ssed. I got it done "on my time" at that point. I have a hot head i can't help it... plus it was a huge slap in the face when not only they weren't giving me a raise, they expected my paychecks to decrease because they were mad they were paying for templates! we seriously were like a little family... that was three months ago and im STILL hurt about it...
Used to be Tom Cruise but he stopped being irresistable when he became a lunatic. Lost all respect!

I do ER charts for East Jefferson, but of course those stopped yesterday, been worried about them nm

It is kind of scary. I stopped at 4:30 a.m. today because I figured I'd better sleep some. sm
At least the power of suggestion had me concerned...I seemed more productive though, got almost 2 times the lines in I would have otherwise, because I knew I had to get to sleep earlier. If everyone were like me though those overnight early morning stats would not meet TAT. But then again, an early grave might not be worth worrying about a couple of hours TAT after all...
Just got it today. Just stopped pacing to try to calm down. Didn't work. See inside---

The cover story should be posted on their online site within a month or so for those who do not receive the printed version as well.

Every company is different -- I worked FT for one as an employee but worked a split shift - sm
So I never took breaks. I would work 5 hours, break for about 4 hours then do another 3. Another company I worked for did not care what hours you worked (IC) but wanted a min. amount of work each day, 500 for PT and 1000 for FT-- BUT they paid you by how many lines an hour you put out, the higher the lph the higher up the scale you made per line in pay; they have since changed everyone to a flat rate with incentive. But bottom line, if you are an IC it does not matter what hours you work, though many ask for a schedule and ask you to stick to it, they just want you to meet line requirements daily, i.e. 1000 per day, 1200 per day, whatever it is.
I got up early, worked during naps, and worked when DH got home.

You have to be disciplined to make yourself work when baby is napping instead of maybe watching TV or doing housework, etc.

I might also go the route of having a teen come into your home, or either trying a mother's morning out program at a local church/daycare.   I've been home since my youngest was born and he has never been in all-day daycare, but I did have him in a mother's morning out program 15 hours a week at a local church.   It didn't help a lot with my work schedule because I had an older son in school and was a room mom and tutored other kids, but that might be an option.  The only problem with the mother's morning out program is they are around other kids and tend to pick up every germ.  I finally took my DS out of the program because he stayed sick.  You were supposed to keep them off if they had green nasal discharge and I did, but no one else did.  Every time I got him well after 2 to 3 days back he would be sick again.  Other than that it was very good for him because he would not have had a chance to be around kids his age otherwise.

I worked on that system when I worked there...
The thing that chapped my hide about that TWS was that they designed it so that all the headers of each section of the report were canned and thus you were not paid for them, even though you had to take your hand off the keyboard and mouse down a list of paragraph headers to chose the one you needed.  Just racking up more profits for themselves.  Ticks me off.
that is what is being worked out, and has been worked on for the last few years already...only
why are we just hearing this now? I know voice recog has been around, but this is entirely different. This will also make coding and billing obsolete.

Don't know why, but it just bothers me that one of our 'own' is the one pushing this...and she is also connected with AAMT. Do they support this, and if so, what is their advice I wonder to the MT?

Perhaps that is one question for their website (I do not subscribe to their mag or credentials...)

Thanks, for the input!
Thanks, that worked for me! nm
xx
TY, TY, TY, that worked. nm

This one worked for AT&T. I was trying to pay
my bill in advance, but you cannot just do that, you have to talk to the credit department. Well, too bad, I no longer use AT&T.
I did not say I worked for SS. I don't know
even know what company SS is? I work for a company where I get paid for spaces. As for transcribing about 65% ESL charts, I typed the same 2 doctors over and over yesterday who love to stat their charts. I had nothing but them my first 3 hours of work. I was beginning to think that all the other doctors had quit and left them to do everybody's work because I had nothing but them. It seems on Saturday and Sunday my work is filled with nothing but ESLs because they are the only ones who like working on weekends. The rest of the week is not so bad but the weekends are the worst for ESL coverage.
OSi is probably the BEST I have ever worked for - sm
I have worked for OSi for almost a year now, and they are BY FAR the most flexible, best paying, most caring management, and have never felt like I was "just" a transcriptionist.  There are so many bonuses, GIFTS out of the blue.... great company, very stable...
I worked for them
Briefly, it was a major problem. From the training to the getting back with me to helping out and getting things staright. They have a lack of management skills to say the least. I left them due to this. Maybe things would be different for you.
Good LUCK
I worked for a nut (sm)

who always wanted perfect documents.  Even worse was when I found out there were other MTs making a bunch of mistakes and leaving a lot of blanks on the same account!  So I was to do perfect documents while the others were turning in crap?  No less than 8 mistakes or blanks on one page?

I finally wisened up and quit.  They're always behind and looking for people, I wonder why, duh.

I also worked for DDI...
when MQ bought them out.  I stayed with MQ for about 6 months after that and then moved on.
this is what worked for me...

When I worked 3rd shift, at first I tried going to bed around 10 in the morning and getting up around 5 p.m. when my husband got off work.  However, it got to the point that I felt like I didn't have a life at all.  I didn't have time to run any errands or even do simple things like clean my house because all I wanted to do was sleep.  What worked best was when I started staying up until around 2 p.m and then sleeping from then until around 7:30 p.m.  That gave me time to do everything I needed to do during the day and feel like I was able to function, and getting out in daylight instead of only being awake when it's dark definitely improved my mood, too.

It took me a good 2 months before I got adjusted to 3rd shift, but I actually ended up enjoying it more.  If you do decide to go to 3rd, put up dark curtains, blinds, whatever you need to do to make your room feel like nighttime when you're trying to sleep.  Also make sure you turn off the ringers on your phones because there are always people who don't understand what it's like to work nights and will call you when you're trying to sleep.

As far as staying awake during your shift, make sure you get up and move around every so often, keep the room very bright and a little cool, and keep the Mountain Dew or the coffee handy.  Go luck!

that worked, thank you!

This worked for me
I had trouble getting paid as an IC until I did the following:  I started billing on the 1st and 15th of each month.  I put a 10-day balance due date on the bill.  There is a note at the bottom of the bill that says if any balance is carried more than five days past the due date, the old balance PLUS the new balance is due before transcription services are resumed.  Its a bit aggressive, but I was tired of making less because of paying late fees on my bills.  Since I started this policy, I'm paid ON TIME by all of my docs.
I tried everything and this is what worked for me
I had beige carpet, too, tried Resolve, OxyClean, dishwashing soap, etc.  The only thing I didn't try was a special cleaner specifically for red stains (Red Out I think it's called), but it was $10 a bottle and I had only one stain.  What finally worked for me was saturating the stain with club soda, then lying a dry washcloth on top of it and applying a warm iron on top.  It draws the stain up into the washcloth.  You could try a paper towel, too.  I had a big spot that was a few months old by then, so I had to repeat this twice I think, but it finally came out.
what worked for me

The widest part of the symbol is next to the larger number:  7 < 9
9 is larger than 7
The smaller part of the symbol is next to the smaller number:   10 > 8
8 is smaller than 10
