The easiest way to accomplish this is by building a macro. I would suggest that you use an Alt+ or a Cntl+ the macro run command. This may take some trial and error. I use {} brackets and an Alt+ key, then it is "find next" in the document and "delete" in the document. With word, Cntl+F is find and the delete key is the delete.

What should happen is that this macro will take you to the next {} you have in your normal or template, delete the {} for you so you just begin typing.

I am sorry, I don't have such a macro to give you as I don't know where it is.
