As a matter of fact, when I returned her call, the person answering the phone, didn't even want to take my number. I suggested that it might be a good idea.... what's up with that

ILL DOL called me back...sm
I am putting this here in case someone else goes through this. Because I am an IC and work in Nevada, for Ill dept of labor, they can only help employees, but laws are different in different states. She told me to call Nev DOL or US DOL. Supposedly my check is in the mail, but was supposed to get direct deposit if paid on time. Will tell my bill collectors the check is in the mail and see how far I get. javascript:editor_insertHTML('text','');

Hope you called HR back. (nm)

I don't think she got the phone call.
If she did, she would be willing to tell us.
just got the phone call
Is its all personalized to the individual MT I was told. They've been watching us and the plan will be specialized to each one of us. Why do I suddenly feel like i'm in the game clue, but the only thing thats going to get murdered is a decent paycheck. Feeling anxious.
Another one from back when it wasn't an insult to be called Secretary
I actually went to a secretarial program at the local technical school. AND I learned Gregg shorthand, but haven't thought about that in a number of years. Boy are you all bringing back memories.
Now everyone is an administrative assistant. Secretary is much easier to say.
ANY MQ SE PEOPLE GET THE PHONE CALL YET?
What is this all about?
Re: MQ letter/phone call
Has anyone heard anything definitive from a supervisor regarding what is coming in this early October packet? Rather than speculate what "might" be coming, I'm wondering if anyone has spoken to their supervisor and gotten some sort inclination as to what's coming.
Call-in phone systems
What is the best call in phone system out there. I do not want call in on tapes though. I appreciate your input. Deb
Many phone call interruptions ...
these days, but I had one ESL today who was dictating fine, but when he was talking on the phone I couldn't understand him at all. I just wish I knew a keyboard command to speed him up and then slow him down again when he comes back to dictate. Oh, and when he came back from his phone call he knew exactly where he'd been with no pause. How'd he do that? :oD
Thanks - I guess I have a phone call to make --

the MQ changes letter, phone call and now packet
got a bomb in it.
FOLLOW UP with either an email or phone call.
It's not being pushy or desperate. It's showing the company that you definitely are interested and motivated. MTSOs want go-getters who will get 'er done, not people who sit back waiting and waiting. You need to follow up and make sure your email didn't hit their spam filters or accidentally get deleted.
I've had that dreaded phone call twice before. Once was
a lab error, and the other time was precancerous but was resolved with in-office cauterization (painless), and that was 20 years ago!!! So, don't worry - very small odds of anything really bad.
1. You got a phone call telling you that they are interested. 2. (sm)
2. Since you didn't respond, you got the "canned" email telling you that you had been written off their list. That's all it was.
There was NOTHING wrong with her leaving you a message. You may have shot yourself in the foot with this one. Hope your workflow keeps up.
Time for a phone call when stuff like that happens. nm

Call United way. Dial 2-1-1 from a landline phone
or you can Google united way '_________'. fill in the blank with the name of your city. You can search their database online as well. There is help out there for you.
Why would you not call them back?
Don't you want to know what the plan is about considering nobody knows anything at all about it?
Off topic whining. Got an interesting phone call today.
DH used to have a pretty good job until the proverbial stuff hit the fan a few months ago. With no warning whatsoever and no bad performance reviews ever, he was told his job had been phased out and he was denied his overdue promotion. That left him unemployed and scavenging for a job. He did find a job at maybe a third of what he used to make. I doubled my workload and cut back the budget to try to make up some of the difference, but things still really stink financially. The stress is about killing me with the extra hours on top of everything else I do. Anyway, the phone call today was to let us know that he should never have been denied his promotion and his job will not be phased out now. Unfortunately, it's too late after how his boss handled it and what was said. He won't go back to working for that person ever again. Sigh... I can't blame. I wouldn't either. It's nice to know we were right, but it doesn't fix anything.
Call the company back now that DSL is
available, and get that job! Tell them you thought you'd contact them again since you now have DSL. MT companies always have openings. Sometimes you have to do a little chasing down to land a job.
Call back and ask a few questions sm
Find out which classification they have given it. Each time I had an abnormal Pap, it was only ASCUS and went away on its own. Did they do a ThinPrep Pap? Also, did they test it for HPV (the virus)? You can be harboring HPV in your body for years and it can show up at a later time, so it's worth sending your Pap for viral typing to see if anything shows up.
In the meantime, if you can get on a good vitamin regimen and bolster your immune system, the changes can actually reverse. My Paps have been fine except during pregnancy (when the immune system is lowered).
E-mail me if you need more help/reassurance.
Is a C-phone like Bytescribe call-in system or Philips digital transcription
My 2 stations don't have the actual phone piece, but I can make calls to the place where I get work. I'm just curious because I want to take a test that requires C-phone, and I'm not sure if my stations will work or not. If anyone can give me some background or information on this, I would appreciate it. Thank you.
That DOES sound strange, I'd call back
and try to find out what was going on if it was me. I try to remember whenever I have to call an entity like that to make a note of who I am talking to so if I have to call back I have it available.
Left a message, still no call back.
Will call again today.
can't you just hang up on a report and call back in?

don't worry, you may end up getting a call from the hospital to come back - sm
it has been happening a lot lately. Hospitals are getting rid of certain services and taking the work back inhouse and local.
back again after my 7th call to the tech support
Thanks for the warranty/technician advice...
Our initial impression too was that it was so great having this satellite internet (compared to our only other option dial-up). We first had the DW6000, and decided to upgrade because of our extreme satisfaction with the system (especially my husband who has been trying to convert to Linux and has been downloading big software files for that purpose).
I just talked to the Advanced Support personnel (that was after 25 minutes of talking to the lower support), and all he could say was that they were still trying to resolve the issue and could not give me a timeframe, that if I wanted to use the net I would just have to check from time to time.
I hate being able to work for 5-20 minutes, only to get no connection again and make the 30-minute call again, and have the internet working again for several minutes (the longest it was probably continuously working was three hours last night, when DH dl'ed 100 MB of software). I decided to just have the day off (again).
I hope that this issue would resolve very soon. I pay their service using my MT income. Now I am losing income yet I still have to pay them monthly.
I wonder if I could try to use the DW6000 (we still have the modem) and see if it will have the same issues...I will ask DH about it when he comes home...
Meantime, I will do some chores. I have lost the gumption to work today...
My first job was a total cold call to small local company...got hired over the phone- sm
give it a shot. Look in your yellow pages or on-line white and yellow pages and see what you can come up with. MT Daily has a list by state of MT companies to with their contact info. Also test your butt off anywhere and everywhere on line, you will learn a lot during the process. I found it quite enlightening when I was doing it 3+ years ago. Good luck.
Whole point...Told you have the job...Call back, oh sorry, I guess not
You just don't tell someone they have the job, then call back and say, oh I didn't check your test, you didn't do good enough for the job. Sorry.
I am wondering too. I have cell phone for back up
if cable service goes down so that is not a concern any more. Want to discontinue SBC (now AT&T) and get the cheapest possible second phone line I can.
In fact, I am considering just having a cell phone for phone service and that is it. Does anyone do this?
Thanks!
Such lies. Just yesterday I had a payroll problem. 1 phone call, person answered, and IMMEDIATELY
remedied the situation. There are always people there to help us. Wendy is just lying, and like I'll bet she's lying about her name! Its sooooooooo stupid to do this stuff when you're a disgruntled ex.
Can someone from the Ohio MQ office give me a contact person and a phone number to call or an email
address. I am interesting in asking a few questions to someone there in hopes of possibly transferring but I need some info first before I go from one problem to the same one elsewhere.
Certainly, I applied to that ad, and received 2 phone calls back.
I had no knowledge of them either. So, I asked if they are US based and what their plan entails. He told me they have a base in the Philippines and plan to send all of the transcription overseas. If I had a problem with that to tell him now. Of course, as candid as I am, I told I absolutely have a HUGE problem with that. I also told him that I am not the candidate for him!
What led me to believe it was an overseas operation was that I put that phone number in reverse look up and an Indian name came up, not the "American Name" that was listed. So, that was a huge red flag. I outright asked him what is his "real name".
I returned to MT from QA (SM)
I too am very good at QA and all of the MTs I worked with appeared to appreciate the assistance. Perhaps you have a particular group of unpleasant individuals, and another job site would improve the situation. I really enjoy QA. But I returned to MT because I found that I was so obsessive-compulsive, that QA became "painful" to me. I thought it best to just transcribe in peace, rather than be frustrated with the appearance of reports that would cross my desk, and upset my OCD ways.
I just returned something and
got my refund back in my account within a week. They are pretty good about returns. Try it!
Report not returned
They'll catch errors at Spheris. You can bet on that. Some very good editors there. You won't get "punished" though, the edited report will just be returned to you via e-mail or through their edited report system. I think they realize not everyone is perfect. Sometimes the docs are pretty tolerable too, as long as it doesn't happen that often.
returned check
i had a friend who worked for them and one of her checks was returned by the bank for insufficient funds.
I give a statement w/every job returned..sm
I only want to be paid once a month from every office, less paperwork. I submit a statement (not to be paid) with every job returned during the week(s) and bill out those statements once monthly the very last day of the month. I have NEVER been paid late by any office, and I get paid within 15 days of the monthly bill submitted. And if I were to be paid late and I wanted to keep the account(s), I would NOT charge them a late fee. Stuff happens. (I remember one office being late due to the fact the office was ROBBED of a lot of $$.)
HTH (hope that helps).
I left for 3 months and returned

Call human resources. I called human resources about it. Sooner or later they will get tired of the
calls and do something about it. Safety in numbers. I have called twice. I forgot to mention the assinine QA point plan though. Mostly I bitched about the no work thing. Told them the new pay plan based on incentive is another joke with no work. Cant make incentive with no work.
The so-called "reality show" is the lowest form of so-called entertainment in recent years
I hate them. They've ruined TV.
Diskriter pays to have equipment returned to them - sm
They call UPS and have it picked up and UPS has the stickers already for you
Just because you haven't had a report returned, doesn't mean
it is error-free, it just might mean it didn't get caught. I sometimes wake up in the middle of the night, realizing that I typed the wrong word in a report, but it passed spellcheck and I may or may not have proofed it, but it also passes QA and the hospital, even though I know it is not correct.
Yes, helped for about 1 year, then same symptoms returned.
Just had hysterectomy last year. Never felt better. No pain, no cramps, no heavy bleeding and I can leave the house and not have to worry about blood running down my legs any more. The ablation worked in decreasing the heavy menstrual flow for about a year. Then it returned with the pain, etc. I have had endometriosis and ovarian cysts since I was 13, with many laparoscopic cystectomies, etc. I am now 38. I finally know what a normal pain-free life is like.
If you do decide to go with the ablation, get the NovaSure - it takes less than 5 minutes to perform and better results than ThermaChoice.
Good luck.
You sound like me! We just returned not too long ago and it was the vacation of a lifetime for us! W
stayed in Kissimmee (sp) and I am STILL talking about that place! The parks! the food! the area! I loved it ALL! I didn't want to leave! It was an amazing experience. I didn't have enough time to do all the shopping that I was dying to do! Did you see those designer outlet malls?? Next time.
I'm glad you had fun! Hey, who said Disney is just for kids???
I just bought one and returned it! Headachy. I think more vertical length would be better for our pr

got the "phone call" -- get this, MQ has hired a bunch of telemarketers to call all of us to
we received our "incentive packet." They don't even have the wherewithall to contact us personally. These are temp-agency hired telemarketers sitting around a boiler room making sure we're reading our mail.... told him it don't pertain to me because I've been demoted from FT to SE.... He said, "yes, the letter is vague, but it does pertain to FT as well as SE...." yeah right, we'll see.
It's time we all called NJ. I called
They can't provide anything in writing.
Nobody knows anything - keep telling you to call your supervisor.
I smell something worse than New Orleans coming from NJ.
I had a lot of trouble with static in my C-phone. I replaced the phone cord and that made a big
difference. Also, have you tried a different headset? Also someone told me one time that there is a microphone under your volume control on the right corner of the C-phone. It's a tiny hole. If you break off a Q-tip and stick that into the hole that will squelch a lot of background noise and that worked as well. As far as getting your C-phone service, I heard that Dictaphone is "sunsetting" C-phones at the end of this year. Meaning, they aren't going to service them anymore as they are considered an obsolete technology. So, I would contact Dictaphone and see what your options are.
I know very little about Lanier equipment. I've not used it as extensively as Dictaphone. Is there a local appliance repair place in your area? You might ask one of those places to take a look at your equipment and see what they think. Kinda scary, cause they could do more harm than good, but maybe worth a shot.
Not much help, I know. But I thought I would share what tiny bit of obscure knowledge I do have.
