I'm just not a fan of the kid. He's getting a bit too big for his britches. A little confidence never hurt anyone, I just hope he uses it properly.

I like VR, too and also resent getting
straight transcription. I'm not flexible enough to switch from VR to straight. It really slows me down, especially when the mix is VR to straight, back to VR back to straight, for hours at a time, which I have had quite a few times in the past couple weeks. Hate that.

Offensive remark
As a Transcriptionist who also happens to have a handicap, I found your remark quite offensive "still willing to work and not live off the rest of us." I am always WILLING to work but am not always able. I do not choose to live off you or the government or anyone else. However, there are programs available to handicapped people that I have qualified for. That is because I paid my taxes for years, just like everyone else.
That could have been where I messed up. Not sure, I tried about 5 times and even had it resent.

Some resent paying for transcription
The big selling point of VR is to get rid of the transcription bill! Some physicians resent having to pay for transcription.
I agree with you - letters need to be written to local papers and medical publications. Maybe we could take out an ad in JAMA and/or a big paper like WSJ? :)

I've never heard a bad remark from Andrews or M-Tec grads.
I've heard about the grader being wrong/ambiguous, and I've heard about the mistakes in the course.
From what I've heard, I also think the course is geared toward producing MTs to work for the big cheap companies. It's kind of like a (fill in the blank)______ company MT-maker assembly line.
Hey! I resemble that remark! I love collecting vintage
