DMV/Traffic Court
Out here in CA, if you have unpaid tickets, a warrant is issued. So when you show up at DMV or the court house, you most probably will have to pay right away or explain to a justice why you need an extension to pay. They probably wont want to hear the argument that it was your sister cause you dont have proof. You will be responsible and then you can kick your sisters butt or sue her. I have a friend who had outstanding speeding ticket and the cops came to her house, arrested her and she had to spend the weekend in jail till Monday when her boyfriend was able to bring the money to the court house.
Out here, we have cameras at stop lights and on different roads..So when someone is exceeding the speed limit or goes through a red light, the camera takes a picture. You never see an officer, you receive the ticket in the mail and they have the picture for proof. Good luck to you.

phone and traffic
I really hope that they make it a law in all states that you cannot talk on your cell phone and drive a car at the same time. Now mind you, I work at home, so I am not out in traffic all the time, but so far, I have almost been killed by a man driving a big truck, going through a red light and almost hitting me, a girl on the phone rear end my car, and my son was sitting at a red light on a major highway, the guy behind him was on the phone doing 40 MPH, rear-ended my son's F150 truck, 1,000.00 damage to his truck, but the guy's Toyota was totalled and he got out of his car and said to my son "sorry, I wasn't paying attention, I was on the phone." Duh - get off the phone and pay attention, please, it is so dangerous. What really scares me are the young kids driving, putting eyeliner and lipstick on and on the phone, i think we used to all do that at home in our room/bathroom. Lately, i have seen a lot more people pulled oer to the side of the road and talking, but then, sometimes they are not over far enough. i think phones should just be used for emergencies, like when you break down, or are stuck in traffic, then use one, but hey that is only my opinion, but makes sense to me.
DH always asks me if I hit any traffic on the way to work
I always say, no, there was no traffic today. Oh, yeah, the dog was in my way and I tripped over him. Yep, he is just jealous. I could never deal with rush hour traffic again. I just watch for the dog.
It's called Internet Traffic
There is a download wait time due to being a "free user" trying to access the download. Encountering internet traffic is not unheard of. There are plenty of websites that offer their users a limited amount of bandwidth per month, this just happens to be one of them, add on the fact that this is also an internet prime time and also that these links are posted on a worldwide message board, and hey you do the math.
The Word board doesn't have much traffic for
many reasons. Some of us are tired after working our own shifts and don't want to feed answers to people who are equally as capable of looking them up as we are. I use entirely Internet based references. If I have that free access to references, so does everyone else on these boards. From my own experience, it's easier and faster to look my questions up myself. In addition, I learn more from doing my own research. If I can't find it, I flag it and send it to QA. That's their job, not the job of those of us here. Word board answers aren't always accurate either. Finally, people are ungrateful if nobody answers their questions quickly enough. That's why I stopped going there. Grumpy little untrained newbies giving tongue lashings because we didn't do their work for them quickly enough. Half of them can't say thanks either. It's sink or swim out there. People have to figure out how to do for themselves.
Same could be said for people - do you let your kids play in traffic
Nice try though

Thank you for your patience during the transition.
If it isn't a real high traffic area, sprinkle baking soda on it, leave it overnight,
and vacuum it in the morning. Good luck!
The MR reports were being filed. Referring physicians/medical care providers reports were not.
This is a hospital radiology department with in-house MTs and a clerk who is in charge of the report distribution.
The two sentence normal reports will balance out the 3 page reports.
I am Wendy too
Between cruise lines dumping, increased boat traffic dumping, and runoff from
the water supply --- that's my personal opinion on why there is such a growing red tide.
They try to say it's just an algae bloom, but the toxin that makes up what is known as red tide is actually lots and lots of different toxins generically called "red tide."
The "red tide" in Massachusets for example is not the "red tide" that affects the southern coastal states and shellfish.
We sit here and watch
cruise ships go by,
barge traffic,
luxury yachts,
many more people living on sail boats,
house boats (there is no more property to buy at a reasonable price so they are living on boats and probably dumping effluent in the water).
"Red tide" comes not only from marine water, it comes from resevoirs, your reclaimed water you spray your lawns with, you get it off the grass or bushes as you pass them, it is aerosolized as you water your lawn or go by an area where lawns are being watered. There is a plethora of ways we are getting "red tide"
But nobody talks about how we are getting it.
Look out there people, it is a toxic dump along the coast lines. I stand on the pier and see household trash floating by all day long. Plastic Wal-Mart bags and floating juice bottles, Frito Lay potato chip bags --- and you know some boater has thrown the trash overboard on the way to the dock.
We have people living on boats all over the place in the bayous. ICK. You know what's happening there.
The beautiful lawns 100 yards from where people are swimming and oh my gosh catching fish and getting mollusk clams and taking them home and eating them --- the chemicals in the run-off from manicured lawns and the animal excrement where hundreds of people walk their dogs is just right there! right there in the water those people are going to swim in, put their babies in, eat the shellfish out of. But nobody is warning them. TheY think it's OCEAN WATER AND IT'S SO HEALTHY. It is not healthy.
Yesterday as I was saying the red tide was so awful at the beach-----------An interesting observation:
NO BIRDS! There was not a sand piper, sea gull, or pelican in sight. NOT ONE.
Your English teacher does not do medical reports. This is for medical reports.

rad reports
I've never heard of such a thing and I wouldn't want to do it. Just curious. what company is it?
I do OP Reports also, about 500 lph. nm

X-ray reports
One of my accounts are beginning to do simple x-ray reports, chest, foot, hand, etc. Anyone have samples as to headings, etc. I have not done them for so long, cannot remember headings such as Exam, Indications, Findings, Diagnosis, etc. They just told me to take what they say and make it "look professional, nice and neat." "As you always do with our reports" they say.
Thanks for your help.
ER Reports
I am going on a job interview and I have to type some ER reports for the skills part of the pre-employment exam. I was wondering if anyone knows where I can find some examples of them. I have been out of school for a while, and right now I just do surgeries and clinic notes. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I need this new job so bad, it has great benefits.
ER Reports
If you follow this link you will find something that might help. You will do fine.

Every 3 reports
Now that you mention it, I usually feel the need to break after about 3 reports or so depending on the length, but that sounds about right. I noticed that one day, but I never thought of it again until you mentioned it. I keep a written log myself aside from what the computer keeps, I always have, it is a habit. Anyway, I usually keep my reports documented in groups of 3 or 5.
ER Reports
I just got a new job at a company that services emergency room docs, so I will only be doing ER Reports. I have not had much experience doing them. Are they pretty hard? How should I prepare myself I start Monday?
ER reports
My secondary account is an ER account, and I love it. They are short and sweet.
ER reports
Just smile - you're on easy street! Hopefully you will have good software that lets you make your own normals with stop codes. You just jump from spot to spot with lightening speed most of the time.
It's reports like these
that help me realize that I don't have it so bad afterall. I guess we all take things for granted from time to time. I appreciate eye-openers like this and try to be more thankful, even when times are tough.
Op reports
I have been doing surgeries for 10 years and just love it. I do radiology all day so at night, surgeries are a nice change.
ER reports
Was there a posting on the boards recently about doing mostly ER reports? What was the name of the company? I cannot find it now. Thanks.
Can someone tell me about how many reports 250
minutes of dictation is? This is for a radiology account.
My company tells us the backlog in minutes and when I ask them about how many reports that is, they can't tell me either.
Just curious and to help me decide how many hours to work also.
those of you who do op reports
I checked archives but didn't find much info - I don't do many op notes, and therefore don't have many reference books. Do you use Google or could you recommend a really good book for me to get? Thank you in advance.
lab reports
If there is ever on thing worse than a speed demon ESL, it is a speed demon ESL doing labs. Anybody know where to get a good full sample of a completed lab report?
same as any other reports...
around here it is about 11-12 cpl for a 65 char long line. No reason to charge extra because it is a sleep study.
ER reports
I dont know about you, but I think you need a cast iron constitution. Some of the ED reports I have typed have almost made me sick. But for variety, you can't beat them. Be prepared for a lot of ESL's and docs that dictate all in one breath.
Different pay for certain reports
Does anyone else's employer pay more for some reports and less for others?
Our employer pays 92% of the standard line rate for ER reports and yet pays 105% of standard rate for operations. I have a real problem with this. My skills don't vary based on what type of work I do so why should the pay scale.
Fax reports
And don't forget to count the time you spend on the faxing, even though you can hardly charge by the hour, your time is valuable and should be included.
Reports
How many lines does 25 reports yield, approximately, anywhere in the range between 3 to 7 minutes long?
What I like about OP reports...
I find OP reports easier than even consults or discharge summaries. I think it is because they are almost the same every time, i.e. there is a standard way to take out a gallbladder. You just have to learn the doctor's style of dictation.
The hardest part for me was learning the names of different types of instruments. I invested in a Stedman's Surgical Equipment Word book and I use Google and get most of the terms that way.
and their OP reports
are horribly long....
But we don't cap it in reports. It's just
Tisseel.
Help with OP reports
I am looking for a new job, lost accout not long ago, outsourcing,VR. I don't have experience in OP reports and everyone wants that. Help!!! Where can I get some samples?
op reports
I have been honest, my problem is that I am trying to take the tests for this companies and they all have OP reports on them. I am going totally nuts with a DCIS.
Rad reports
I have always been paid per report. $2/report. It all evens out short reports vs long reports.
5 reports a day....sm
My friend/MT "penpal" also tried this company (10+ years exp). Told her after 2-3 days (all are IC) okay, you're off QA - "You already know how to transcribe". All of a sudden, they told her there was something wrong with her formatting, the formatting "wasn't coming out right." (Whose fault is that supposed to be?). Put her on QA for that reason, same thing, 5 reports a day (one of the submanagers doubles as QA person)...supposedly to save wear & tear on her. There was lots of unpaid demographic crap, research, though involved before any line count comes into play with this company. When she questioned this, they terminated her contract. What I would like to know, though, AT 5 REPORTS A DAY.... OR UNTIL THE "REAL WORK" COMES IN...WHO PAYS YOUR BILLS? WHEN IS YOUR FIRST "REAL" PAYCHECK???
Now I know I do too many Op reports - sm
I was typing a Mental Health intake, and where the dictator said, "she was clinging to her mother," I, of course, typed "KIinging." I guess they were bandaged together! LOL : )
Don't do it. The reports are probably SM
full of blanks and you could spend 15 mins in a report, multiply that by 4 and you have a per-hour rate of less than $8.
Now I know where all the bad reports come from
I guess by your "training" the newbies they have so many errors left that when it finally gets to me to complete it is such a tossed salad. Thanks for clearing this up.
I'm a QA, and yes, we get VR reports
edited by newbies all the time. And yes, I have worked as a VR Editor as well in the past. I definitely agree that VR is awful, but it's a completely different ballgame than QAing.
Regarding the other post, MTs do not QA newbies' work - QAs QA all newbie work. You're just getting crappy VR reports.
I QA'd reports for a school once sm
Keep in mind these were ladies just starting out, but it amazed me that almost all of them typed the patient's temp as * 200.2*
Seems common sense would tell a person that a temp cannot get to 200.2 and the person be alive.
Sample reports............sm
YES.... www.mtbot.com
Just type surgical reports (or whatever you're looking for) in the search engine. There are tons of reports in there.
sample reports
THANKS SOOOOOOOOO MUCH! That's exactly what I needed!
? about radiology reports
Can anyone give me some comments? I just signed up to work part time with a radiology account and I love the dictators but you have to type in all the header information which is a lot. The information is picked up by going to a separate efax web site for each clinic and looking for the patient's name for that particular report. Some are hospital stamped and others are all handwritten and you have to keep jumping in and out of 3 different screens to type this all in; this is ridiculously tedious and very time consuming and it is very hard to get your line count up. Is this a normal thing to have to type all this information like that? It's the only thing that is not good with this account. The pay is 8 cents per line. Thank you for your comments.
? about radiology reports
So, to answer your question about it being normal, it all depends who you are typing for. If you are typing for an outside facility yes but if you are typing for a hospital no because most have a platform that MTs type the reports in. With this, you only have to type in the patients MR# or accession# provided, look to make sure the patient name match with what the dictator is saying, you then will get the header(s) for the report, select the appropriate header for that study and then you get a document to transcribe the report on that is formatted with the patient information. After typing the report, you then update it in their system and move on to the next, it’s that simple and easy. When typing for an outside facility, they have their MTs typing reports in a word processor program like Word for example using their template which you have to enter in all that header info.
It would be easier if you could print out the lists since it is time consuming having to go in and out of screens, that is ridiculous. As a radiology MT, you type many x-rays reports that are short and you really can’t make a line count when having to go in and out of screens. When I had worked for a company similar to who you are working for, I found myself having to really type hard to make my lines. I no longer work for that company and now work for a different company that I enjoy and I do not have to type in the header info, doing hospital radiology transcription. I make a little more per line and I make twice as more per pay period versus the other company because I have nothing to slow me down. I think MTs should be paid more than 8 cents per line or per report to compensate for their time when having to enter in header info and having to move between screens.
Rad Reports/headers, etc
As an IC, i have a great radiology account, and because my company did such a good job, turnaround, accuracy, etc. I was offered a neurophysiology account....something I had never done before.........However, having such a good medical terminology background, I was willing to give it a try (and they were desperate)...(ha ha),,,,Anyways, the reports are done in word,,,,and are not all that difficult as it turns out. The TIME CONSUMING part - was doing the headers - which we retrieve from the text files attached to the wav files,,,,,,,and each identifying piece of information has to be looked up and typed on a single line (15 lines total -before you get to the report),,,,,,,well I hired somone just to do the headers,,,,,,as it turned out.....I met with the company and proposed a 1.00/per header charge for these cases - which turned out to be an excellent idea. The girl that does the headers for me - is guaranteed x amount of money now,,,not just lines and I can sit right down and type the reports.....perhaps you could approach them with an idea like this?
