I know what you mean...

I've been an IC for many years now - send Xmas gifts to the docs.  Do I even get a verbal thank you?  Nope!  No ackowledgement - no nothing. 

I did have one doctor who I'd been transcribing for YEARS call in to dictate thank you notes for Xmas gifts he received from various people - I'm doing one letter and then the other and next comes a letter he's dictating to me and my husband thanking us for the basket we sent him!!!??? So here I am typing his dictation - a letter to me and my husband thanking us for the gift we sent him!!??!!  Can you say RUDE??? 

I have one doc who I've been transcribing for for six years now call in to dictate an article to some magazine about how he is looking forward to getting rid of his medical transcriptionist's monthly bill (that's ME) and do the EMR routine!!!???

I've had others who I've transcribed for years who dropped me like a hot potato with no notice - no NUTTIN' - when they found another service who'd transcribe for less!  But the fun part is when they call back a couple of weeks later wanting a transcript from me that THEY misplaced, and I tell him I'll be happy to retrieve it and send it to them for my hourly fee of $50.00!  Hahahah!  Or when they call me and want me to put ALL of their old transcription on disk and send it to them "when I have time."  I tell them, "Sure thang!"  You buy the disks and I'll ship them C.O.D.  My hourly rate to do this is $50.00.  Funny....I NEVER hear back from them!  hahahah

They say attorneys are heartless?  I've worked for attorneys and doctors, and I can tell you attorneys are warm but docs hae ice water pumping through their veins, and their OM's?  Dumber than gourds for the most part!
