It is clinic ortho notes , same doctor, very easy dictator
I am supposed to be p/t and he dictates between 30-50 min a day, many times 50-70 min even. It takes me many hours since I am a newbie. The paychecks just don't seem worth it for the amount of time that I am putting in.
typing from notes
Thank God the doctor's notes I type from is not that bad, even though she is Spanish her accent is perfect in English, so her notes are not like that at all. She just abbreviates a lot.
Tessier's is great! Used in combo with the Sted's Ortho and you're good! nm

Surgery and Op notes here. Great moneymakers, too, if you can get them! Despise psych. nm

Yippee. I'm happy for you. Not everyone doing VR
And obviously you don't work for Transcend or MDI-FL where not only is the VR platform crap, but the accounts are difficult accounts AND our Expander program still doesn't allow macros. If you're making money, you must not have made that much before VR. I was making over 9 cpl on straight typing at 400-450 lph on an account all ER and OPs. There is no way possible to produce 900 lph to just break even to what I was making let alone to MAKE money on VR. You may be using your macros in VR and doing the same thing you did while straight typing, but you're making less money doing it. I don't care what company you're working for, they aren't paying you the same rate for editing VR as they did for straight typing, and there is NO WAY you're producing over 900 lph, so my statement stands about high producers not making money. The only point you made is that you had to be a mediocre producer to be making money, otherwise you'd just be breaking even.
Yippee! I am happy for you! sm
so glad it worked! I don't like giving suggestions and tips that turn out to be wrong! I will keep my fingers crossed for it to stay that way! hope your day is better today than yesterday! ":^)
Yeah - you're back now! Yippee!!!
And you'll almost never get just Op notes. Probably get mixed acute care - op notes, discharge su

My daughter already started 1st grade - year-round school. Yippee! (nm)

Typing. This is NOT typing, it is transcribing. There is a BIG difference. sm
Transcription includes typing, but so much more.
pt ortho
There is a post on job seeker's board for part-time ortho or p.r.n. I am not sure if it is filled yet or not. You will have to scroll down a ways to find it.
and if you can do ortho, you then can...sm
do radiology and then neurology and rheumatology......it all kind of links together in that way, at least for me 28 years ago is how it went....ortho to radiology to neurology and rheumatology and now today I can do it all........I especially love infectious dz, oncology, and I do not like OB/GYN nor eyes.
ortho help
I imagine it's pseudarthrosis .. not pseudOarthrosis.
W/C and Ortho
I have five years experience in both; work done is for the state of CA, although I do not live there. Every specialty has its own terminology, etc. It should not be too difficult a transition, but it could be challenging to make lines until you become familiar with it.
Ortho
I've done ortho and acute care so far.
I like ortho the best, probably because I started out doing that. They have such a huge number of strangely-named signs and tests though that just slay me!
ER reports sound like they might be interesting. Seems like you'd hear it all doing those!
Ortho help
Due to account reassigment I am now going to be doing strictly orhto accounts.
I do have Instant Text and several Stedmans such as phrases but no specific specialty books.
I am wondering if the Ortho Word Book is something I should purchase?
I am also wondering about some the ABCZ products?
I welcome any suggestions.
Thanks!
ortho help
I have done ortho clinic in the past, just not 100% of the time.
I previously did multispcialty for many years which mostly consisted of family practice with an occational specialty thrown in to break the monotomy.
I would not say I am nervous about 100% ortho but I am "cautiously optimistic". Since it seems likeall I would be doing in the immediate future I was wondering if I should invest in the books etc.
Thanks for the input and offer to help.
Ortho
IMHO Ortho is the easiest of all unless it's urology. An ortho book mighth make it easier for you...like Stedman's. If you do ops think carpenter...hammer, screws, nails, etc. You can use the Stedman's Word Book to look up say "screw" or "Pin" or "nail" to get the specific name. I would highly recommend it. Good luck to ya.
I am looking for prn ortho work. Can anyone help me?
ortho work
what area?
OJT training (especially for ortho)
I think cardiology may get a little more complicated (or not) depending where you work. I think orthopedics is probably easy enough for you to pick up on the job considering your experience. I would try for OJT. Good luck!
Ortho term for PIP fx. sm
Gotta be significant. Listen again. :)
(Sometimes we can try TOO hard, ya know? :))
ortho procedures
It sounds like the MD is saying "oatsi" this is on a patellofemoral procedure. Can anyone help?
WC ortho always interesting...
I love doing ortho WC! It's like watching soap operas without getting hooked. Will this person be a malingerer, or does he really have long-term injuries? Very interesting.
Wish I was doing ortho surgery!!
....I like bones better than organs!!
Sted's Ortho
Stedman's Orthopaedic & Rehab Words 5th Edition (bright green) includes chiropractic, occupational therapy, physical therapy, PODIATRIC, & Sports Medicine.
Ortho/WC experience
I've been doing WC ortho/neurology for 10 years in Oregon. It was my first transcription job with no prior transcription experience, so pretty easy to catch onto.
ortho and W/C experience
I have ortho and W/C experience, about 9 years of it.
ortho references
Anyone know any good ortho web sites? Joints? foot orthotics?
Ortho sites
I am fairly new to orthopedics. Anybody have some good websites for ortho terms and medications?
Here's a link that will be invaluable for ortho.
Hope it helps a lot!
Need help with ortho term for PIP fracture
I'm working on an ortho eval for a patient with a PIP fracture. Doctor has dictated an unfamiliar term (there's always that ONE WORD) for me. He dictates, "X-ray examination today shows impaction at the base of the middle phalanx with approximately 70% joint surface involvement." Here's the word I don't know (spelled phonetically--Sorry": "A syphiant(??) portion of the joint surface is translated dorsally."
If someone could point me in the right direction for finding this word, I would really appreciate it!
Ortho term for PIP fracture
I see "significant." :)
4th ed stedman's ortho book
is listed on ebay for 9.99, if anyone is interested. I have 100% positive feedback rating, so you can bid with confidence. "judymari"
Have you tried Ortho-Novum? It is usually a lot cheaper. SM
When I tried Yasmin, it was going to be about $30/month on my insurance but I switched to Ortho-Novum, which is what I had used years ago for a long time anyway, and it is only $10/month. I know - it is ridiculous the way drug prices are.
Just started ortho specialty... Does anyone
Thanks a bunch!
Really need Ortho help on word board. Thank you.
nm
Google.....then Stedman's GI & GU, then Ortho- nm

You need help on something???
Ortho reference website
Does anyone know of a good Orthopedic reference website? TIA!
I think the Ortho and Rehab is the one I pick up the most as well.
nm
Stedmans Ortho book shows
both on pagge 455, plantar flexion and then plantarflexion injury, plantarflexion-inversion test. Maybe it is supposed to be by context ????
I have a Stedman's Ortho & Rehab book too
I type strictly ortho reports and that book has helped tremendously!! They have other books for other specialties too. They are worth every penny!
Pay question $2/page--ortho clinic
This is a subcontracting position. Is this good? I usually get paid by the line so I am clueless. Thanks in advance!
Ortho progress note samples
Does anyone know where I could get samples of ortho progress notes?
TIA
I LOVEl ortho!!! I find it interesting
but then again I work for an ortho trauma doc. It never ceases to amaze me at how clumsy people are. I thought most people grew out of that "clumsy stage" after puberty. I am probably jinxing myself. Watch me fall and sprain my ankle on a pebble today. LOL
My most worn Stedman's is the Ortho & Rehab.
The binding is totally beat and I actually have pages starting to fall out...second to that would be the Cardiology and Pulmonary words. Congratulations on your new gig!
ortho help...s/l michelle flip sign?
this is an ortho exam and he keeps repeating this throughout many of his dictations and I can't seem to find anything. It sounds pretty clear that he is saying michelle flip sign but I just can't verify that anywhere. Anyone ever hear of that?? Thanks so much for your help!
