I use Shorthand for Windows and love it. I have found it works well with most every program. SM
I have used with Word and Word Perfect. I have used it with Meditech and Cerner. I have used it with RadNet and StarNavigator for Radiology. I can use it with my email applications and on the internet if I choose. If the Expander is open and running, you can use it with any and every window program you use.
I was really simple to learn to use too. Very user friendly.
Shorthand works with every program, it works outside the program you use, does not interfere.

PRD is a DOS program. I don't think it work with Word, a Window's program.

you can import your autocorrect into Shorthand.

I believe that Instant Text will work and it is an awesome program! I have been using it for about 7 years, really helps production and more.
Shorthand program question
I am using the trial version of the ShortHand program from pcshorthand.com. I have some long entries in there and it seems to take forever for it to go into my report. I sit and watch each sentence come onto the screen. Is there a better shorthand program? Where it just instantly pastes the entire text "BAM" instantly without having to stop and wait?
Also, maybe it just does it like this because it is a trial version????

Need Macro program for Works!
I am about to start a job as an IC for the first time. I thought the company provided a macro program, but now it seems they don't. I can't be productive without one, but I have never had to purchase one on my own, having used company-supplied programs for the previous 12 years. Does anyone know a program that will work in Microsoft Works that has macros that will expand with the spacebar? I need something easy to understand and as inexpensive as possible but that will hold maybe 2,000-3,000 shortcuts! Thanks!

Is there a way to copy Shorthand program from one computer
to another when I do not have the disk anymore? Any help appreciated. I recently bought a new computer and am looking to install my ShortHand on that computer.

You cannot import into AutoText. You can copy your spf dictionary into Word and then you'll have to create the AutoText entries one by one.

autocorrect is very limited. If you want to make money, your really need a good expander.

It will count everything if you go in the settings and program it to. Good program!
Sylcount is an awesome and accurate counting program also. That will count everything if you "tell it to".
You do need a FTP program though so you can get your work - sm
forgot about that, but that is not a large expenditure, think I paid $30 for mine though that was about 8 years ago (I do web work to for my old, old job now and then).
Because DOS was much faster program to work in
and was easier to do everything. Windows based operations are much slower.

Technical support person for your company contact you and that person should be able to remote into your PC and fix what the problem is. You shouldn't have to go spend money to get this fixed.
I know that is what my company does and if they can find no remedy then and only then would I take it in for service.

PRD is a dos-based program, will not work in Word.
It is a great program, wish it would, but you might have to look at something like Shorthand. Same with Stedman's. It is a Windows installation, not a copy/paste like the old dos programs (WP, etc.)

SpeedType AND ShortHand both come with a converter file that will import your AutoCorrect entries to either program. You do not have to pay Betsy to do that unless you flat can't figure out how to do it. It's not at all hard to do. Productivity Talk has posts that even tell you how to do it -- for FREE.
There's a tutorial in the program and yes you do create expansions while you work. Love it! nm
