Could people in the Amherst office tell me
whether the accounts they work for are local to their area, or do you do accounts that are across the country? The particular account I work on, I trained with all the ladies on it a couple of months ago on DQS (we all worked on it in another office w/o DQS), and so far, we have a lot of work.
Wondering if the problem with lack of work just depends on which accounts you work on and not necessarily a problem as a whole.
I hear that; we had tapes broken several times where silly office people had put post-it notes on th
In retrospect, it was nearly laughable.
Good old Amherst and couple with their ridiculous QA point plan. They people in AMHERST ARE NUTS. I
hope MQ loses all of its good MTs and then the hospitals can yell about quality and leave. My account just disappeared after being transferred up there and then find they have hired new people for it.
The slow versus fast talked about numerous times regarding VR
I don’t have any idea where this ridiculous statement started from. Think probably from the haters who are probably going to be put on VR and digging their heels in to not have to do. Rather than rates, which I think probably are about the same, 4 cents per line, you should ask who has the best platform and go for a company that perhaps does not have a zillion employees. Being slow, being newbie, etc. would just work against a good person for VR.
Can anyone suggest an office in MQ that is not run like this Amherst office. They are absolutely
pathetic. I wonder how many other MTs are in that office in the same situation.
I heard it was awful, by numerous people who saw it.

Amherst office
Maybe we should all call the ofiice this morning and ask them where all the work went to this week end?
MQ-Amherst office/quota
I work out of the Amherst office and have gotten a letter about not making quota for insurance purposes--HELLO--I can not make my lines each pay period if I have no work. I have called and emailed the office numerous times explaining the lack of work, been given more accounts, and yet run out of work but yet the hiring of newbies continues and from what I gather from the posting, all of Warminster is now in Amherst also. After reading the SEC comments on MQ and the money spent on lawyers, contract buy outs, loss of clients and lowser rates, I wonder where we will all end up. With the Atlanta office closing on 9/1/2005, I wonder how many more offices are closing between now and the end of the year. The closing of offices was one of the things mentioned in the disclosure, sorry, the conslidation of offices, termination of office employees, telecom cuts--all ways for MQ to save money. I guess you would have to after spending $18 million dollars on lawyer fees already and none of the lawsuits are settled.
Where will this all end
Amherst, I am out of the Atlanta Office

You mean Amherst has a bunch of liars also in the office. Seems to be the MQ way.
:
You would think this office would wise up but guess not until it is too late. I am from Amherst and
I guarantee you I am looking. I pity anyone who gets hired by MQ for Amherst. That all situation is an absolute joke. They need to get rid of the people up there responsible for these problems.
unusual for me too, worried too, not Amherst office nor Ohio
I have asked this many times
but because I do not understand what they are saying and am looking for a step 1 do this, step 2 do this, etc., so I it is clear to me. I know I am probably the only one out here with this problem of not understanding how to do this. Thanks for any help given.
I asked him three different times sm
in three different places and he isn't answering. He sure sounds like India to me!
Just got transferred to the Amherst office and am wondering what to expect from that transfer.
Can anyone tell me anything about how they operate that office. Do you have work in your regular accounts without hundreds of backups or what is the situation.
been asked this DOZENS of times. Please...nm
What is a TROLL! I've asked many times, no ans.
Thank you!
RE: What is a TROLL! I've asked many times, no ans.
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.
In internet terminology, a troll is a person who posts inflammatory messages on the internet, such as on online discussion forums, to disrupt the discussion or to upset its participants. The word, or its variant, "trolling", is also used to describe such messages or the act of posting them.
This question has been asked 1 million times.
First, start by looking through the posts on this board. You should be able to find plenty of information through those postings.

Have most people had good luck with their MQ office closing and moving to the regional office. Have
things gotten better or worse for you.
Has anyone had a conversation with the people at Amherst about this situation. I am not sure where
to go after them to get any results. I would appreciate any recommendations you may have on this because it needs to be addressed.
You know, I dont think people care anymore what MQ offers or doesnt offer, I think everyone is just
sick of all the confusion, dishonesty, sneakiness, etc. You never know what is around the corner so after this there will be something else no doubt. I think I and most other MQ MTs just want a company that they can respect and trust. MQ can offer this package and turn right around and change that. Leopards dont change their spots. It seems like they are intent on running this company into the ground and they are doing a good job of it. I dont see how they ever will stand up against the money they owe all of these hospitals. You still have to wonder what prompted them to send checks out to the DQS MTs for mistakes in calculation of lines. Give me a break. Maybe they are trying to settle lawsuits to get out of the MT business and focus on just technology. They sure dont know what they are doing with the MT side for sure. I think they felt they had everyone up against a brick wall but as accounts leave so will MTs or MTs will just move on to another business as the wages get lower and lower so then all the work can go to India. Older MTs will cut back or retire and younger ones will leave for something else when they see what they have to battle with the work left over from ASR or VR for the small amount of money not to mention EMRs coming quickly.
You are lucky because Amherst is always out of work and I know they hired a lot of new people ?? so
just curious about this.
The national I work for usually offers jobs to the in-house people when they acquire an account. nm

Again as has been said many many times I think it depends on the office and the region.
I've tried to go back to the office a number of times and
I never can make the transition. One consideration is your wardrobe. You have to start dressing in office attire which is something I don't miss and found irritating when I went back into the office. I also found that after working at home for as long as I have done it, it's kind of stressful to get out there and try to be social and friendly. Office politics is another negative. Offices are very much like high school, very cliquey and filled with gossip. There is more to working in an office than just doing your job. At home, it's just me and my PC. I do the work and I get paid. In the office, there's you, your PC, the person who shares the desk with you, the person who sits across from you, the person who sits next to you, your supervisor right across the hall, the doctors knowing you by name and seeking you out to complain about their dictation, the constant ringing of phones, chattering of voices. The people you share office space with, one will always be hot, one will always be cold, one thinks it's too bright and there's a glare on her screen, and one thinks it's too dark. You can't wear perfume because the girl next to you is allergic...
I could go on...
Has anyone asked to be transferred out to an office that MIGHT be open for awhile. Is there anyone
in Amherst that is willing to get this situation taken care of or is that a lost cause.
Do not work for Amherst if you can work for any other office in MQ. It is terrible. They overload
accounts terribly. We are always running out of work or need to have 8 or 9 backups to get lines in. This is the way it is. There may be a few out there that it is different but I do acute care and was just transferred there along with my office and everyone in my office is in the same boat. Not a good deal at all.
In bad times, people ignore healthcare -
some things you have to have even in bad times, but all the elective stuff which keeps a lot of us going is not being done in this time of crisis. I was typing 50-100 GI procedures a day, now I am typing about 20!
The economic crisis is having a big effect on healthcare - don't kid yourself...

I've heard people have to try a new food 10 times before they know for sure they won't like it
I heard that somewhere.
I had a SIL who actually SAT on her young children and force-fed them new foods if they refused them at the table. We were appalled, but weirdly, the kids often got up from the floor and happily ate the food they were just force-fed!
I think anyone whose accounts have been transferred to Amherst needs to email Amherst and also to
let their supervisors know at their office if it is still open what is happening here. We also have to deal with no weekend pay, no holiday pay, NO WORK so expected to sit around for holidays for nothing and NO WORK and their QA and no blanks situation when we are on 8 accounts. This is an absolutely ridiculous situation and Corporate needs to be made aware of it and if they do nothing then I hope MQ loses all its MTs and accounts for all the blanks and poor quality work that does back to the hospitals. That is always what happens when you do this.
I asked people if they can tell me the difference between facial and fascial.
:P
Yeah, but good times or bad, people still get sick, hurt
I do mainly pediatric oncology, orthopedics and GI, and it seems to be increasing, not slowing down.
Does anyone on her work for Amherst MQ and how is that office to work for.
:
Maybe all of MQ will be like Amherst or maybe so many of us at Amherst have not work they gave us
other accounts in other offices. They sure overhired but a lot have quit because of no work. One thing for sure, you wont get the truth out of your supervisor.
I know quite a few people that use Open Office and are happy with it.
I thought it was free (donations accepted, of course), but perhaps that has changed.
It is going to be very interesting to see how you people feel once your office is closed and you are
moved into a regional office on DQS and find that there are tons of other MTs on the accounts you always had. It is coming for everyone so you might be singing another song as time goes on. Enjoy it while you can. Time are changing.
I know a lot of people it helped (I worked in a doctor's office) SM
BUT you have to really want to quit before you start it. It doesn't make you want to quit - it just helps you w/ the depression and the withdrawal symptoms that come along w/ quitting. Good luck.

There are numerous ones.
Start with your ISP, may offer free storage space. Google for FTP storage or online storage and you'll get lots of hits. It's hard to decide for you.
I believe they got rid of the too numerous boards - sm
because it was getting totally ridiculous. There were boards for everything under the sun it seemed. Posts were being moved and locked because they should be on a different board. Many, including myself, thought it was getting to be a bit too much. So luckily they listened and trimmed it back down to something a bit more manageable.
I have seen numerous discussions regarding
AAMT on this site. ????
numerous discussions here
I have been following numerous threads here and I have a question. If many of the MTs here are dissatisfied with what is going on with the industry, then why do all of the MTs not stick together and demand what is deserved? I understand that we all must have an income because we all have bills due and mouths to feed; but, it would not take but a few days for all qualified MTs and Editors/QA to demand benefits and a bottom line cpl/hourly rate or whatever you want to call it. Kind of like a union. No company could exist, even with newbies or off-shore doing the work without the qualified MT backing all of this up. I am not looking to start a war here. I have just read on this board for quite some time about this same issue, but nobody seems to want to take action. I know for a fact that if ALL MTs would stick together here, the end result would be very favorable. It seems over the last number of years these companies are demanding the MT to do more work and have much more knowledge for much less money than they deserve. So, with that being said, why why why would you not demand your just pay? Again... I know for a fact that if ALL qualified MTs would stick together, they would have no choice but to pay a standarized fair scale in order to keep their doors open.
Are you in an area where there are numerous hospitals??
If so, maybe some of them have their own departments and you can get hired inhouse. That's what I finally had to do in order to get the pay and respect and steady work that I needed. I'm working less than full-time and making 30,000+. You may have to work in house and follow a set schedule, but at least you'll have a decent job.
There are numerous studies presently
taking place concerning this relatively new medication. Below is a single example of Fosamax prescribing from the "norm." If I were typing that report, I would type it verbatim and not flag/question the physician's dictation.
FOSAMAX DOSING
The prevention dose is 5 mg daily, the treatment dose is 10 mg daily. Alendronate should be continued indefinitely. Although discontinuation of the alendronate does not result in the rapid bone loss seen with HRT discontinuation, a gradual decline does occur, so some maintenance therapy should be utilized. The dosing may be modified once optimal bone mass is restored. One could then consider the 10 mg dose to the 5 mg prevention dose daily, or perhaps to 10 mg every other day. A once weekly dose of 70 mg or a twice-weekly dose of 35 mg is presently being evaluated as an alternative-dosing regimen but has not yet been approved. (Study results pending).
