I have Abacus SE, brand new with disk. s/m

I paid $40 for it about two months ago. It is very user friendly and prints out invoices. I'll sell it for half price plus shipping if you are interested.

It's also free.
abacus
works well and also does daily counts, invoicing too!
I believe Abacus?

abacus
Thanks.  Does it count "differently" than Word?  What is the web site, abacus.com?  I will try it.
Can anyone help me with Abacus? SM
I'm trying to use it for the first time.  I opened the program and see the drives listed at the upper left.  However, I need to get into My Documents and go from there, and it's not listed there.  I have A, C, D, and E drives.  Even if I click on C, I don't get a choice of My Documents.  Has this ever happened to anyone else?  What am I missing here?
Try Abacus..
It gives you a free trial version, so you can see if you like it.. Not sure of the website, just search abacus line counter.
abacus

thank you...I really like the program and did not want to change it.

I use Abacus. sm

Abacus comes with a free trial and costs around $20. It is customizable, counts in batches and I have found it to be a great tool. I consider a line to be 65 characters with spaces, including tabs, returns and header/footers. I do not count formatting or caps. Hope this helps.

Abacus
Anyone know if there is a free trial period on this software?  Thanks.
I also use Abacus (about $20).
In PA I am required to charge sales tax and I can't add that in Abacus, but I do use it to create the line counts that I then transfer to Quicken for invoicing.
Abacus.

Try Abacus

The Abacus.

Is Abacus still free? nm

I use Abacus and love it. Free too! nm

I used Abacus at the advice of who I work for once--sm
and yes, it is free, but it consistently counted less lines than I get with other line counter software. It would not count the headers, either. Depending upon the file it was counting, I found it to count from 1 to 6 lines different from others. To me, that is too many variables. JMO
Abacus and Word 2003

Has anyone used Abacus with Word 2003 and does it work?  If not, any other nice line count programs out there that creat patient lists/invoices?

thanx

I use Abacus. It's $20 or $30. (see link inside)

Does anyone use abacus with Word 2007? sm

I've used abacus 2.1 for years. Now I have Vista with Word '07 and I was told that 2.1 and 3.0 would work, but either would be hard to configure. I'm not sure what that really means and would like to hear from anyone who is using it about problems or advice.

Abacus line counting

I have downloaded the Abacus SE program and cannot figure out how this program works.  If anyone is willing to walk me through the steps of this process I would appreciate it.  Information would be 9 cpl at 65 character line.

Thank you, JNGI

Abacus line counting

Thanks!  Emailed you.

I use a program called The Abacus.

You can download abacus free. You just have
to delete this line that says: Buy me so you can get rid of this annoying line (or something like that). It counts your lines for you and then creates an invoice. Looks professional. Hope this helps.
I downloaded Abacus. doggone if sm
I can figure out how to use it! That is what happens when you work for a one company forever and ever. Don't keep up on the other stuff. I did see the counter on Word so I guess I will have to wait and see how they do things.

Some companies don't explain things very well.
Abacus has a line counting program and you
can download a free trial version of it. Don't have the website, but I think a Google search would help you find it.
Use Abacus. You can download for free. Very accurate. nm

Not familiar with your software, but Abacus has many of these options...
You might just ask them what software they use, too, for future reference. Good luck!
Abacus Line Counting Program
I've been using this for about a year.  It used to count subdirectories.  I thought all I had to do was check "add subdirectory files to listbox."  Now it's not working.  Am I forgetting something?
Abacus Line Counting Software sm

has a free trial and only $38 to buy -- much less than other line counting programs!

I think it only works with Word though.

disk
 BOS 2 recommends disk (pg.140)
Disk it is thanks
Thank you
disk
About 1999 when I worked in house, we got an AMA article that said they preferred disk.
If MDI goes by BOS, BOS says disk for both. nm
x
She will need to get the disk...sm

from it's owner to transfer the voice files from the handheld to the computer.

Love my Abacus too! Awesome free program! nm
x
I've had problems with Abacus' accuracy in the past.
.
Sorcerers Abacus - a search should find link n/m

I use Abacus; however, it is an older version. Don't know if it has been upgraded. It is free.
x
I use Abacus and send by email/WinZip encrypted. nm

Disc or disk--
I really don't have time to search archives EVERYWHERE.....I tried and am only now more confused.  I cannot afford an AAMT BOS--please we are arguing with our doctor--tell me, is it disk or disk and what page is it on in the BOS?????
Disk or disc
same meaning on both is this just a preferance?
Disc/disk - sm
I agree - disc for bone, disk for eye...been doing it that way for 25+years, never heard any different.
Disc v Disk
I have been told AAMT is disk for vertebrae and disc for eyes. However in the hospital I worked for on-site it was disk for vertebrae and many hospitals I've worked for want disk. Personally I don't understand this ridiculousness in MT work, as both are actually correct. So bottom line is -- ask for a/c you are working on. LOL
disc and disk
I vote for what the BOS-2 says regardless of the negative posts here. Look at the book and you won't have to post these types of questions here.
Can I copy IT onto a CD or disk?

I have company issued computer with IT.  I would like to know if I could move IT to a CD or disk so that I can put it on my personal computer.  I have greatly expanded the glossary to cover my area of expertise over the last one year and do not want to lose this.  In fact, I think I would break down and cry if I did.  Plus, am thinking of taking on a PT job and would like to utilize this IT on my other computer.

Thank you.

You can only put the glossaries onto a disk..sm

For copyright protection, IT restricts itself from being able to be copied onto a disk and installed onto another computer. The only way to install it is to use the installation disk.

The glossaries, however, can be backed up onto a seperate disk, just not the actual program itself.

Technically, the hospital owns the license so installing it on a personal computer would violate the license agreement. If you would like to have it on your own computer, it is recommended to purchase your own copy so you don't have to worry about anything with the license agreement.
