I got screwed - and the management was not the greatest - sm

I just didn't feel like I was part of the team... and I do like to feel that way... my opinion... not to mention I got screwed when I decided to move on to another company... I never got reimbursed for my internet services, they tried to make me PAY for a computer that I never needed and never received (mine was the right format), AND they tried to say that I owed for a footpedal - which I had already purchased one two years before working with them - not worth the bother really.... I would recommend OSi or DSC

Should it be "life cycle management" or "lifecycle management"?
Having a debate at work.
Perhaps OP is not new at all. How could you declare MQ the greatest with nothing to compare.
I suspect MQ has a lot of people positioned for damage control on the boards these days. It was a stupid post that would be meaniningless to anyone but MQ damage control. Watch and see what is coming down the road in the next six weeks with MQ and MTs. That's why there is damage control in place and there will be for the next six months or until MQ is bought out.
what may ultimately be the greatest hurdle
Is finding the job that gives you everything you want: 1. Good line rate. 2. Benefits (all types, if you want/need them). 3. Freedom to work the hours you want.
In the final analysis, you might have to relinquish one to get the other two. Sort of like the old days of dealing with clients: Quality - Turn Around - Price Pick Two!!!

One of the greatest gifts I have are my parents.
My father is a very strong Christian man. He worked hard all our lives and provided a living well enough that allowed my mother to stay home with us.
He took us to church, structured rules for us as teenagers, and loved us fiercely.
As I grew up and got married, I found my husband to be completely incapable of providing for me as my father (and mother) did. While it left me confused for quite a while, I finally realized that no man was worth my time or energy unless he could take care of me as well as or better than my father did and that I do.
I am shocked and hurt at the number of stories I hear from others everywhere about their lack of a wonderful family and childhood.
Honestly, I feel like I am the most blessed person I know considering my family, my children, and where I am in life.
My father gave me strength, discipline, a love for truth and self responsibility, and most importantly the key to knowing God.
Just went out and bout The Band greatest hits and listening right now to the Weight.
got screwed
First I was with MQ, and I think that explains itself, left there went to radiology co, who gave the department the heaveho for VR (nice severance package though), then went into office, pulled transcription and acted as backup, way overqualified and missed being at home, now am working backup for 2 companies, one of which everybody loves, but the owner hates me and bust me down to 7.5 cents per line fr 10 cents per line because I was not keeping up with 5000 lines weekly. EVERYBODY loves the quality of my work though, no where to go but on my own. Thanks
How did you get screwed
Just wondering how you got screwed? I run an MTSO and I am always wanting to know what MT's like and don't like. What company do you work for?
Terry
screwed
My answers tell me that I am screwed if I lose my job. NOOOOOO!!!!
This board is all screwed up..sm
I can't read the beginnings of posts because it is going into the blue part on the left hand side. Can someone fix it?
Most newbies ARE screwed.
I personally know two people, one of whom I mentored through her training program, who could get jobs in the field. No one would let them get a foot in the door. So I understand that frustration from that point of view, because these people have had to count their training money as a loss and go on to other things. I was so sad for them, and angry at the penny-pinching MT profession as it is today, which has few opportunities for in-house training for new people to learn what they need to know to succeed.
I think a lot of the bitterness you sense is really toward the big companies and the direction that the profession has taken. There is no place anymore for newbies to learn and "pay their dues" the way many of us had to do it.
I also agree with the poster below who said this is something that is in EVERY profession nowadays. My own father was pretty well forced into retirement, and yet they had the nerve to call him afterwards trying to pick his brain because his successor, half his age, couldn't figure something out. (He informed them of his consultant rate, take it or leave it.) As the other poster said, you find it in teaching and other professions, as well.
Man you are getting screwed. What a slap in the
face that is. Even though none of us are probably making any more than we did 10 years ago (taking into account cost of living) that is just an insult. Glad you are leaving.
you screwed up and you know it. you missed the point and you know it.
the jokes on you. hey i'm am more than happy to have the router give you the hard stuff. whatever. i got bills to pay and when they route crap to you, i keep the good stuff.
HELP. My husband screwed up my toolbar
how do i get it back down where it used to be? The start menu, etc.
The point is that HE screwed up, and he will have to pay for his actions. nm

People are screwed up in this world. Too many
people think the govt should take care of their every need. Got my subscription of people magazine yesterday and reading the stories of the survivors. A lot were very said but on the first page of the article there is a picture of a boat filled with people that were rescued from their submerged houses. What is in that picture? In the bottom right corner, a woman in a wheelchair holding a Budweiser beer. If my house was under water and I'm screaming for help the last thing I would want to grab is my beer. My pictures, my important papers maybe but not my warm beer. This hurricane is making me mad so I have to stop watching the news. Saw a guy on the news the other day who said the govt better give them the same big checks that the 9-11 people got. Ok, changing subject now and going to watch nick at night before I get mad over this subject again.
Turn it over and see if the screws are screwed in.
and then and then I have trouble with it - but I can't say that it's stopped working COMPLETELY before from that.
Screwed up Medical Records
My sister went to the hospital after a car accident and was there for about a week. I told her to get her medical records because things had been such a mess while she was there - she had someone else's x-ray reports - reports of things she never had done - part of her H&P and part of someone else's - and just plain sloppiness and incorrect information all through her chart. And then they charge us for our MR. I have in the past gone and paid over $200 for my records and then promptly gone to the bank and stopped payment on the check - it was worth the $15 stop payment fee but not the $200.
Toth screwed me too years ago
I am terribly sorry to hear they are still at it. I worked for Toth for about the same amount of time as you had and they screwed me out of the time plus over $1,000.00 in pay. I never saw a penny of it. I tried to have the shut down. I presented a ton of evidence to Labor & Industry, as well as the A. General, but with no luck. L & I said I had a case, but because I was IC they didn't handle it. Told me to get a lawyer. Lawyer told me, I had a case but probably would only come out with 1/2 of what they owed me minus fees from court costs ect. I cannot believe they are still pulling this same scam. Are you a newbie? Toth was my first job. What a mistake.
What screwed us was the fact that our work - sm
is the only one of those three fields that can be offshored. Nursing can't because the physical presence of the nurse is needed. And the same for court reporters. I would be very interested to know if any of the court steno-notes are outsourced to be transcribed, or if the CR does it herself. If they cn be outsourced, I wonder if it's legal for any of it to go offshore. My bet would be a resounding NO. And I'm also willing to bet that even if the CR can hire someone to transcribe her court notes, that there re very strict rules about where that information can go. That's why I'm adamant about plugging that huge leak of America's confidential medical information. Not only because it's morally wrong to offshore it when Americans need the work, and because of identity theft, but also because of ech medical report's potential as a court record. Someone, somewhere, needs to be made aware of that. Maybe it's time to start talking to people involved in the court system, to get their feedback on that issue.
that post was not mine..screwed up posting.

It screwed up my computer. Now I use online references

Comcast is apparently all screwed up across the board.
I have been having trouble with accessing some websites, but not all. My clients are having the same trouble so it would seem that Comcast has a major problem on their hands across the land. As an FYI, I'm located in PA. What about the rest of you?
Norton fried my old computer, totally screwed it up....this was 8 years ago though...hopefully its i

If government is involved, it will be as screwed up as the Medicare medication program.
Heaven save us from all these wanna be kings that sit on top of the hill.
I've been screwed over by the big phone companies too, but once you switch to a business line,
a lot more options are opened up to you. Talk America has an unlimited long distance business line for $49.95. I've been with them for over a year now. I also tried calling cards, which are an even bigger rip off.
Are you in MQ management?
Are you with MQ management? Although it doesn't matter, because I'm telling the truth. I see it every day.
MQ management
No - I am a new rehire.
MQ management
I'm sorry, but I don't feel comfortable about giving my e-mail address, because I'm not certain about your position. I had a great job until MQ came into our hospital and managed to reduce my pay tremendously. I am one of the very few users who has access to DocQmanage and this process that they use to count lines just makes me sick.
MQ management - NOT
Whatever - I feel bad that you have lost money. I also have been "screwed" by plenty of companies myself. I was just trying to figure out if you could provide documented proof of "how they are robbing the MT". By the way, if you still work at a hospital, don't you still get benefits, i.e., health insurance, holiday pay or is all that based on lines produced like it is outside of a hospital? Have a great day.
MQ management
I must say - there is so much paranoia amongst some of you. Yeah - I've been hacked by the big companies also. Why not keep your mouth shut if you don't want to provide documented evidence.
MQ management - NOT
Did they bother to tell you that they also outsource MT transcription to other countries at MQ? I'm interested if they are trying to sell DQS and MQ without divulging that they outsource to India.
Are you new or management?
This WAS a GREAT company. IT is changing, we are not trying to change it. IT is changing OUR lives. I don't abandon ship without trying to help others first. UNBELIEVABLE CHANGES in less than two months where I am. I will be out of it very soon and if you want, you can go down with the ship with that attitude but I hope you and the others like you realize what you sound like and don't.
Whatever U say, Management! - nm
Management
I have never had anyone be rude to me the entire time I have been there. The IT guy can be a bit gruff, but I almost never talk to him. Of course, I do my required lines plus, get excellent QA scores, and don't bother anyone. Maybe that is why they are so nice to me!
Whatever you say, Management. What are
Just curious.
Sorry Charlie, not management
just an old MT with 30 years experience. and No I don't smoke thanks anyway.
Does anyone know anything about pain management M.D.'s?
For someone with chronic pain, is prescribing pain pills a last resort or is this the norm?
You sound like MQ management...
I just now read your ridiculous post (I'm not on boards very often, just check occasionally to see what is going on or blow off steam).
MQ adjusted my compensation without telling me. Had they told me I would be making less per line, I would have sought employment elsewhere. I was hired with the verbal and written agreement that I would be paid on the basis of a 65-character line, i.e. space bar, commas, bolding, underline, headers, footers, cc lines, headings, etc. etc. Through manipulation of their counting software, and various platforms, (Im'on my fifth platform)they have systematically underpaid us for our work. In fact, they just admitted that recently and I have a check and letter from them stating those facts. The amount I received is not near the actual amount that they underpaid me. I have no idea how they came up with this bogus figure. Yes, our business is an exchange for skills and service, but they must uphold their end of the agreement which was to base our compensation on a 65 character line. If that changed, nobody told us. In fact they repeatedly told me that nothing had changed and we were still getting paid the same way. They could not account for the decline in my production except to say that I just wasn't producing the same amount as I was before. Duh!
There is no heartache here, just anger. I'm angry that I've been ripped off by a bunch of greedy bums who have become quite wealthy off our blood, sweat and tears. Yes blood, I recently had to have surgery which was job-related, and am still recovering. So, why do you even care if you don't work for MQ and this doesn't even concern you. Do you just enjoy beating up on posters, does it make you feel better than everyone?
The recruiter said it was management, not MT.
It is my guess it paid well, but who knows.
A TL is for workload management ONLY SM
If you are going to her to ask questions about software, blanks, format, etc., you are going to the wrong person. Software issues for the help desk and blanks, format issues for QA.
Team leaders SHOULD just be routing work, seeing that there is adequate staff to do the work, etc.
You obviously are Spheris management
It always amazes me, the BS from Spheris, astounding!
No, she's from OSI management, but that might as well be another galaxy
are backpedaling on here a thousand miles per hour trying to find employees that actually live in this country.
Too late. You treat people like that, this is what you get.
Your management is to blame, not the MT.
Your management allows it to happen.
Talk to them.
It is isn't up to you nor me nor anyone else not in management to regulate who gets what work and when and how much.
MT management: Who would you work for and why? sm
I was curious as to what companies MTs would consider being a manager for and would also like to see posts from people that are current managers.
That's right. It probably wasn't YOU, and yet management of course (sm)
always has to make it seem like it's the MT's fault. "Blame-it-on-the-MT" -- for doctors and management alike, that seems to be their "EASY" button (like the TV commercial).
In business, management....
it is not unusual for a person to turn in a resignation and then be told to leave immediately. Sometimes even escorted out of the building.
I believe it is company management
handing out the praise. A good hint is to look at their "names" after they post. Some of those names are the same ones over and over again, and some of them are just downright laughable!! Another hint, look for the companies are always looking to hire MTs due to "growth." Id say the "Growth" is probably the growing number of MTs catching onto them and leaving!
Management again. SO annoying.....
Gaaa
anger management
I really think that humor is a good tool for anger management! Friends will send some really funny emails that will just crack me up even when I am in the worst mood ever, it always helps...or sometimes just going for a good run to burn off some steam? There are a lot of things, also I like to look up at the big guy and ask for some help there, that helps me quite abit!!
anger management
I love it!!! What a fun game!
