Would go to the trouble of creating something for you as a welcome package just to tell you that you are going to burn in hell for not going to their church. It is just a welcome to the community and if they decide to go to church we are letting them know that we are here.

maybe give one of the churches a try, you might like it!
See the message above about small churches.

Did you see where they were asked to join churches?
How can they ignore a question like that? "Would you like to join our church?" Suppose they could just say no, which seems a little rude as to why not exactly. I can see her dilemma.
they have visited a couple of churches (sm)
They haven't found one yet that they think they will attend on a long-term basis. I know that will help a lot once they get settled in a church. That is actually a huge part of the problem. She has attended the same church since she was born! Same pastor and everything! I don't think there is going to be a church that will live up to her expectations but I hope she finds one soon that has people her age age. My parents just picked my son up (he's 13) and they are going to visit her a couple of days. They're hoping it will not make it worse though. Hopefully they can help watch the kids so they can get some things done around the house and make it seem more like home. Thanks for the suggestions.
Typically, what Baptist churches do
in our area is have some sort of function for the kids, particularly teenagers, to keep them out of all of the drinking and that style of partying and meanness, if you will, that goes along with Halloween. They just don't call it a Halloween party.
Food stamps, WIC, food banks, churches, family...
There are many answers to that problem.
No one has the right to steal and writing a dishonorable check is stealing. It is called "theft of property".
My tax dollars support government programs to prevent people from going hungry and to provide for women, infants, and children. I make donations to food banks and churches, etc., for those who just need help as well.
