I do this

I usually spend a Sunday baking cookies all day long and then batch them up for my offices.  I give cards to the individual docs and I thank them for their faith and confidence in allowing me to do their work.  All but one of my offices give me cash bonuses every year for Christmas.  One office even gives me a birthday gift every year.  I am always invited to their Christmas parties and other events.

I do believe one reason for this is - most of my offices still use tapes and I still pick up and deliver.  Therefore, I have daily communication with those offices and become "friends" with them.  I have even filled in  for a couple of offices during crisis situations where they were truly shorthanded.  I like the rare change of pace it allows me.

  • I send my nat'l supe/family sweets - private MDs get special food baskets...sm
  • I used to send a card and gift card to my direct supervisor, but that's it. sm - R
