In Reply to: Lanier & digital phone line - deenibeeni
I have digital phone bundled in with my internet and cable TV through Time Warner Cable. It works just fine, albeit a bit bothersome at times. I have call waiting on my phone so when I am signed on to the Lanier work station and I have my "ears" on I can hear the call waiting "beep". My caller ID shows up on my TV screen so I run out into my living room to see the caller ID. If it is someone I dont want to speak to I just ignore the beep and they just get a constant phone ring, no voice mail, and they eventually hang up. If it is someone I want to speak with, I run back in my office and hit the on/off button on my work station to shut it off. Then my phone will ring and I can pick it up and talk. Once I am done with my phone conversation, I sign back on to the work station and it puts me in the same report at the same point as when I stopped. I thought I was being smart and bought a caller ID phone to have in my office. I figured if the caller ID shows up on my TV, then it should show up on my phone as well while I am on Lanier. It doesn't so I brought the phone back and got my money back. Oh well, at least I'll get some exercise jumping up and down from my chair to check caller ID! I have noticed that my ear phones only pick up sound in one ear on the Lanier but when I plug the phones into my computer speakers it picks up sound in both ears. I was told I could get a jack to make it stereo. I have only checked Walmart so far and they don't have it. I may check Radio Shack at some point, but right now I am actually getting used to it. I hope this info helps.
