I didn't work for the T company, but I'd be interested

to know where you work now if you're willing to share. Thanks. I'm getting desperate here.

but if she didn't have any work at the first company, how is she worse off now? nm

I am fairly new with my company and I tried the control Y one time, and it didn't work, so I thou
into the "global" normals, I will play with it again and give it a try. How long have you been doing transcription? Have you stayed with the same company for a long time? I worked at a clinic for 6 years, hospital for 8, and now this new national for 3 months.....I hate feeling new!
Until you know which company you are interested in working for, sm
or will be working for, it is useless to worry about equipment. Many companies have specific equipment they require. Either they will provide this, or ask you to buy/rent it. It is impossible to buy equipment for a job you do not have. Some companies use transcribers, but most of them use internet platforms, often provided by the company. This platform will determine which pedal you need. Unless you have a lot of money to throw away, get a job first, then be prepared to buy/rent the equipment. MTs that have been working awhile usually have equipment sitting around, but they don't buy it hoping to get a job; it is usually left over from a former job. My advice is save your money until you get a job. Good luck.
I don't know if you're interested or not, but there's a company hiring
radiology MTs right now. It's not a national. Diagnostic Imaging Fax your resume to 843-571-2963 I don't know anything about pay rates or location, but the job was delivered to my email box. Work from home, flexible hours, pay by the line, full time openings.
I'm interested, too. Can you say where you work? Are they hiring? Thx. nm

I didn't go into labor until 2.5 weeks later, so it didn't work. Sorry!...nm

I didn't sign up for it, was begged to do it when company was in need. sm
I try to do everything asked of me for those who pay me and somehow don't know how to say "no" when I am asked to do something. I was begged and I caved in and agreed.
I tried Relacor, it didn't work because I wanted it to work without
my trying to really lose weight, i.e., dieting.
My true belief is that any product will not work unless you TRY yourself. I had 20+ lb loss with Metabolife (sp?) and really felt more energy.
BUT, I truly believe if I don't really try, nothing will work to make me lose weight. Please know, I'm right there with you and wish there were a magic pill that could make the lbs just shed away.
you didn't ask me, but email me and i will tell you what company i get paid for doing logs with..

You don't want to work for this company. Call your current company and
tell them that you have decided against the new position and tell them that you would like to stay. It is cheaper for them to let you stay than to train someone new. A company who could be so tacky as the one you just spoke of is one you do not want to work for. You can rescind your resignation. If you are a good MT, they will be glad you did.
All I know is it caused the company I work for to be unable to do all work due today and the rest
:+
i used to work for a company that divided the work types up and i loved it. sm
there were only 4 of us working a major teaching hospital. someone was assigned surgery, different assigned discharges, different admits, etc. we all had the backup work type in case the original assignee wasn't available and were cross trained. it made us much more efficient, ability to get used to dictators, set macros, and in the long run we were all much happier.
The company I work for said cable phone wouldn't work, just FYI.
nm
No, not me. I tried it at first, but it didn't work out.
I was in a corner of the living room for a long time. Now I have my own office.
Didn't work for them ... but ....
They were the main caregivers for my dad in his last days. They were wonderful, not only for him, but also for us. They helped him let go, and he died so peacefully. Watching how sweetly they treated him, and explained things to us and answered ANY question we had was above and beyond. We can NEVER thank those folks for all they did.
Good for you, you'll be helping someone who will need you more than you know.
Thanks - tried that one too - didn't work.
That didn't work, either.
I was hoping that would work, but it didn't for me.
???what didn't work.

Sorry. Don't know why it didn't work, (sm)
but I pasted the URLs here. Wish the link boxes worked for me.

Tried that, didn't work...
I'll try again, maybe it's just the site that I'm downloading from.
Didn't work .......
Thanks for responding to my question. Apparently I must be using an old version of Meditech b/c it doesn't have that RTF option
Oh well, it didn't work...
I typed a short report in Word and tried to copy and paste into Meditech document, but it did not work
Didn't work but .. you
are so sweet! Researching it for me?? I should be doing that.
Actually I tried the help area but that didn't seem to help me either, although i'm certainly no whiz at Word!
Thanks so much!
didn't work for me
I tried doing it this way but found that I WAS working later every day and that just didn't fly with the hubby/kids. Now I do it just as if I had to go to work "outside"...get up at a specific time, shower/dress/coffee, then make sure I'm sitting at my desk by a specific time, scheduled lunch and 15 minutes breaks every 2 hours. That's the only way I get anything done but I also have a 4yo at home with me so I make sure that he has plenty of activities to do sitting at his "desk" next to me.
I did and it didn't work out well for me
but I want to say right away that I wouldn't want to deter anyone else from trying it. I tried to keep a full time job as well as a part time IC job and still homeschool my daughter. She had been in public school and we took her out for 2nd grade last year to homeschool. I used the Calvert curriculum which laid everything out for me each day, but I still found it difficult. I was worried about her having time with kids and getting out of the house sometimes, and the homeschool group we joined was just not very active. I had her in Brownies, dance, and swimming, and between trying to work full time plus, get her to and from all of her activities, and get the schooling in, it was just difficult for me. DH didn't really contribute too much other than sort of grilling me on what we got accomplished each day, so that didn't help. Also, while my daughter and I have a very close relationship (She was born when my older two kids were 16 and 13), we ended up clashing so much. She wouldn't read for me. She'd mumble the words under her breath as she read. It got to be a standoff each and every day. We just got so frustrated with each other. Plus, I would get behind on work and then have to start pushing back getting some of the schoolwork done, and then we'd get behind, and honestly it just got to be a mess.
Well, I could go on and on. I do want to say I loved having her with me each day in spite of the problems we had sometimes. We had a terrible winter in Wisconsin and it was so nice not to have to go out each day. I think it just wasn't a good fit for our family.
So, this year she is back in school but in a private, very small parochial school just 2 blocks from home. There are only 6 kids (all girls!) in her class, but they also do some things combined with the 2nd grade, which has 7 kids. She is having a great year so far, really thriving in that environment, and I kind of like that it's got a homeschool/co-op type feel with the small amount of kids and individualized attention that is possible with that.
Also, after school started, I started a run/walk program and in the last 2 months have worked up to being able to run 3 miles a few times a week. I'm not really a "me" time type of person either, but it's been nice to take a few hours a week and get out of the house and just do something by myself. I couldn't do that at all last year, partly because of homeschooling and partly because my DH is gone so much doing his own thing.
So in the end, I give so much credit to those that can work and homeschool... or heck, even those that homeschool and don't do other work besides everything we do as wives/moms. It's takes a stronger, better organized person than me to do it, that's for sure.
I did at first but it didn't work out that way...
I actually had gone to nursing school but that wasn't for me but I wanted to stay in the medical field...I just so happened to be pregnant with my first child when I was going through MT school so naturally I wanted to stay home...but I got a job in an office and worked there for almost 5 years before working at home...been at home for almost 5 years now...and my daughter, who is 2-1/2, is home with me now during the day until she starts preschool in the fall...and of course my son, who is 10, is in school...it is hard at times but it works for my family.
Didn't work nm

It didn't work out so well for me...
I was diagnosed with probable MS, had multiple issues, took that leave, doc turned the leave into permanent.
Long-term disability? DENIED.
Social Security Disability? DENIED.
Four years and multiple appeals later, I ended up going back to work. (Medically speaking, I have all the same symptoms I had back then still).
I'm working 3 hours a day now because that's all I can do.
Personally, I would recommend scaling your hours back first.
Get a lawyer to file your FIRST SSDI or LTD claim.
Be very choosey about your doctors.
didn't work out for me
I am so sorry to hear about your medical problems. I work as an IC. I can't work very long at a time either. Sometimes 2-3 hours others less. I rest and then work some more. Fortunately I have contracted docs and they are the only ones I do so they are waiting for me to finish. I did get SS disability finally with a lawyer, but went off that when I was 65 and that is why I am working now. I do not make much but it is better than nothing. Praying for all of you who are struggling.
What would you be doing today if you didn't have to work?
I'd be sitting outside in the sunshine reading a book and watching the kids play in the kiddie pool. Hmm, sounds good to me. I wonder how fast I can get this work done. oi!
By the way, the X tip didn't work!! What a surprise!!
Thanks for trying, though!
But think about it. What does "if it didn't work out" mean? SM
That she screwed up so many reports while trying to take care of little kids?
There's more to this scenario than just the MT and what she wants. Patient care is involved. I repeat...would YOU want your medical reports transcribed by someone who was so distracted?
I don't work for MQ. I got out of there after one week because I didn't like them.
I rarely whine, unless I'm PMSing. (Which I'm not.) I just think you're being rather harsh. I ignore the MQ posts because it doesn't pertain to me. I can do that. I can rise above it. Yes, I do think this board has been swallowed up with negativity lately. And I'm tired of it, too. There are very few positive posts, so those posts are the ones I focus on.
You can't sweepingly brush everyone into one pot. You can't call everyone whiners and losers without getting some backlash. For that matter, take your proactive messages to a blog. I'm really tired of your attitude. Life is not cut and dry or black and white. It's not all or nothing. Most people can't just quit a job, move to another town, or just walk away from a situation. It's more complicated than that. That's where you're being judgmental.
DANG, didn't work

For some reason, it didn't work....sm
I will try link again but in case it doesn't work here it is......

Hope you didn't have to work all day
No work for me today. I was able to enjoy another day off. Back to the old grind tomorrow though not may patients so it'll be a nice slow day for me.
What email? I work there and didn't get one.
Worth a shot, but didn't work for me. sm
My inhouse job was outsourced when I left to work at home after 3 years doing the same account and getting rave reviews and raises for my transcription. I applied to the company handling the same account when I saw it advertised. I was told by the company my account was outsourced to that I did not have enough experience. Huh? 18 years total. 3 years on that same account.
I guess it depends if you're still working for the hospital or not. I know that at least around here, the hospitals basically black ball you if you have the nerve to leave their employ.
Hopefully the hospital you mention isn't quite as petty as mine was. They actually started sending the tapes out the day after I gave my 2 week notice and I had absolutely nothing to do but filing for the last 2 weeks. Apparently the hospital policy dictates that there is a grave danger of breach of confidentiality once the employee gives notice.
Give me a break.
Good luck. Hope it works out for you!
Thanks anyway - It didn't work. Apparently, it might be my headphones. I'm getting new ones
Link didn't work in last post

Trendy. Had one for a week but didn't work out.
Maybe I could have given it more time, but I was not happy with it.
Downloading Java didn't work
So I deleted it again like they told me to do in the beginning. Any other thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks
Yep, I had to work today, didn't get dinner started until 1:30
So just got done with dinner at 5 pm!! But just thankful to have a job at home where I got to spend the day with my daughter, rather than if I would have had to go out to work today, like some people did! Maybe someday I will get the holiday off, but this is second best!
First I'd reboot and if that didn't work run a virus scan. nm
Sorry, I got cut off and didn't realize it. I was told it was more of a way to get the work back
I was told it was more of a way to get the work back and forth. Does it actually affect the line counts?
I had the same problem with the Belkin and sometimes it didn't work at all so I got the Dynex and
That was my solution, maybe someone else has had a better experience with the Belkin than I did.
It didn't work so well for Dwight Shrute. Jim popped it. nm

Safe mode didn't work. Aaaggghhh!!
Still can't get McAfee all the way off my computer (I guess because maybe it's damaged now and trying to protect what it has left). What if I just put another antivirus on here in addition? Under security, it says there is no antivirus detected on my computer, so in my (simple) mind, that means it should be okay, right? Even though when I tried to put the other antivirus on, it told me I needed to take McAfee off first. Under add/remove programs, when I try to remove McAfee, it simply freezes my computer and I have to "end task" manually.
Last year we went to Disney and I work on a laptop so I brought it and didn't
take any time off so I could work. After much probing, calling, and trying to set up my internet (I made sure the hotel had wireless or I wouldn't book it), I finally got on line, but it was the night before we had to leave anyway.
I absolutely love my Dell laptop because of the flexibility and I can work on the dining table, office, kids room, etc. I can't imagine ever going back to a desktop PC.
But, you never know when you travel if 100% you will be able to get online.
I don't work for MQ but that happened to me once at the company where I work and
my next two paychecks were shorted out of what they had overpaid me for that pay period. I hope they don't take it out of your hide. It was hard to budget for that month!
Company I work for has to pay fines for work out of TAT.
