I commend you....

for taking the bull by the horns to try and better your life but do know, real estate is brutal, and that's putting it mildly.  Be prepared to work 24/7.  I know what I'm talking about because I was in it for three years - worked with Coldwell Banker, Merrill Lynch and Prudential.  Yes, there's money to be made, but you WILL give blood by the buckets in return, and you'll find your fellow real estate agents will slit their own mother's throat to make a listing/sale. 

And while I'm on that subject, a word of advice.....concentrate on listings.  Make a mental note of this. They'll teach you all about listing versus working with buyers in your real estate class.
