I fought against our textile/garment workers losing their jobs and those jobs going overseas. It closed down several plants just in our near communities and it hurt many. I have apposed and send many of these to my senator and representatives. Yes, I did and do care and have made my thoughts known loud and clear. I care that the US/Mexican border will be open now to semi trucks barrelling down our US highways, thanks to underhanded government officials okaying this garbage. We have no way to police these people and can you just imagine the added smuggling going on within those trucks? What a joke our leaders have made of this country! One of the major interstates they will be using is coming straight through my city. You better believe I care and have pitched a hissy fit about it. The problem is our government needs to quit licking boots and and stop this free trade junk, China and all of them. We import lots of good but we export very little. Not a fair balance at all!

The only way I've been able to stay in this messed-up line of work as long as I have is to stop caring about it, and just do it. It's a paycheck (albeit a small one). Nothing more. It would be easier to be passionate about driving a garbage truck than it would be to care about this slave labor. Driving a garbage truck, at least you're making a positive difference to the people you serve.
